Same thing happened when Paul Wight threw Austin threw the side of the cage in Austin’s match with Vince at the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre PPV in February 1999. Thereby and inadvertently causing Austin to win.
The finish of Eddie Guerrero vs Mr. Kennedy where Eddie slammed a steel chair on the mat and tossed it to Kennedy and pretended to be hurt, causing Kennedy to be disqualified was pretty cool too

There was a Big Show vs Regal Raw match with a brilliant finish. Regal used the brass knuckles to knock Show out but he ended up falling on top of him for the 3 count.
#1 was so brilliant, they paid homage to it 12 years later. The boot coming loose was the same way Dolph Ziggler got the IC title back from The Miz at No Mercy 2016.
Does an inventive counter count? If so, then Randy Orton countering Seth Rollins' curb stomp into an RKO at Wrestlemania has got to be up there. Just an amazing finish. As for the list, I think the ring breaking being number 10 is a bit bizarre. Way too low in such company as Eugene vs Simon Dean.
My favorite is Eddie's last match vs Mr. Kennedy. The ref took a dive and Eddie brought in a steel chair. As he was about to use it, the ref was getting up, so he tossed the chair to Kennedy and hit the mat. The ref stood up to see Eddie motionless on the mat and Kennedy holding a chair, so he Eddie got the win by DQ.
Another thing on Hart v Piper at WM8. The spot in the match where Roddy can't decide whether to use the ringbell on Bret or not was one of the spots that first showed me how important psychology can be in a wrestling match. It's a moment I'll never forget and well worth watching if you've never seen it.
I remember being 13 when big show broke the ring. I went ape shit crazy. The issue was my mom worked 12 hour shifts at this time . I got way to hype woke her up and got grounded for 2 weeks
Here's an honorable mention: *The 3rd match between Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 for the NXT Championship in a Last Man Standing Match. Gargano got blinded by revenge in the end and nailed a similar knee strike to Ciampa; but, he ran off the entrance ramp to a equipment box that took him down for the 10 count while Ciampa moved to stand over the first floor and retain.* I consider this to be an interesting finish and continue with both men's character arcs.
@@Dave_ja_vu The roster was fire at that time before the call ups in 2019. They get underutilized once they are moved to RAW or SD. ONLY a few achieve a lot in a small ratio after WM season or Draft.
I always appreciated the finish to Over The Edge 98 where Stone Cold pinned Dude Love with an unconscious Mr. McMahon counting the 3, thanks to a resourceful Austin. 😆
The ending to the Angle vs. Taker match from Survivor Series 2000 could have been on this list as well - where Eric Angle was was hiding under the ring and then Kurt rolled up Taker for the win.
*activate smartass mode* It made a 1 on 1 into a triple threat. There was still quite a bit till the finish. But the stomp to RKO earlier that day was helluva lovely finish as well

Batista/Cena Last Man Standing was creative and my fav and watching the panic in Batista trying to get up was great considering the basic formula all LMS matches go, people don’t get to visually watch themselves lose LMS matches
I re-watched both of the Undertaker's WMs 30 & 33 losses and with him leaving at SS, it's hard to tell which moment will be the most heartbreaking (at first sight).
Cultaholic should have make this video a week later cause that Ladder Match finish earlier was one of the smartest strategies to culminate a match. That was brilliant!
One of my favorites was backlash 07. Orton gets speared. Edge gets FU'd. Cena gets super kicked onto Orton. Shawn cant break it up because was was RKO'd moments before all of that
Glad to see Eddie top the chart; always loved that finish. I'm gonna give a shout to the Shane v Big Show LMS match at Backlash, where Test lifted Shane up on the camera rig to win after he leapt off the entrance way scaffolding XD
Sheamus and Cesaro end new day 483 title reign after Cesaro feigning the tag and taking trouble in paradise and Sheamus pins Kingston is my personal favorite
The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle match has another little tid bit not mentioned: when they clashed again in early 2006 at No Way Out, they used a variation of this finish where The Undertaker was the one with the triangle choke on Angle and Angle was the one to get the pin, but he was damn near unconscious and that was used as justification for a rematch because The Undertaker was moments away from winning via ref stoppage. It was a phenomenal match and the rematch on smackdown was almost as good, but was unfortunately sacrificed to setup the Undertaker-Mark Henry mania match.
I mean the most devastating move in all of wrestling the surprise roll-up, is used so much to save characters but at the same time makes you wonder why everyone falls for it lol.
I remember watching the big show vs brock lesnar match from june 2003 was freaking awesome because I was out for summer vacation from school and I was watching this in north Carolina at a hotel with my late dad that got me hooked watching wrestling when I was 5 years old in 2001 and 2003 I wasn't even 7 years old yet man good times. And I am so happy that the late Eddie guerrero match against Kurt Angle is on here on this list and I can remember hear Michael Cole saying the boot went flying was so darn funny to me and Kurt Angle being so pissed off was funny to me and I really love wrestlemania 20 for sure.
I like how the title is Top 10 Incredibly Inventive WWE Match Finishes and the thumbnail is The Rock 98’ on the floor with a light... I was like.. “Mankind vs The Rock SOME KIND OF BRAWL”
I don't know how you don't have Al Snow & Hardcore Holly at St. Valentina Day Massacre Where the 2 brawl to the outside area and Holly wrapped Snow up in an actual chain link fence to prevent Snow from raising his shoulders or kicking out on this list. Or the First Blood match between Austin and Kane. Where if Kane lost he would set himself in fire. Only to have Mankind rush to the ring to aide his partner Kane while Undertaker persued with a chair. The finish saw Undertaker swing a chair at Mankind only miss and hit Austin in the face and bloody the rattlesnake. The finish prevented Kane having to set himself on fire, but also gave a reason for Austin to demand a rematch the next night for the tilte.
Not sure how Cena/Batista Last Man Standing isn't on here. When Batista can accuse Cena of taking a page out of Hornswoggle's book--*and it makes perfect sense*--that's inventive.
I'll never forget the POV shot and how dumb it looked. Me and my brothers literally ran out of the room. One ran out of the house screaming EEEEEEEW. LOL. It was such bad douchechils. We hated it. Lol. It was too movie. Pretaped. Rocks face looked so bad and dumb. We never finished it we just walked away from it, laughed, never really talked about it because everytime we do... It's like talking about the time the dog jumped your leg and actually finished. You don't wash your pants. You throw it away and never talk about it again.
How is John Cena vs. Batista in a Last Man Standing Match not in this? Cena taped Batista's feet on the ring post so he couldn't get up. LIKE WHAT!?!??!?
That was such a bad idea to do in front of a Wrestlemania crowd. I'd wager not a single person understood what was happening until commentary told them that the bottle contained Head And Shoulders. And even then it probably took a lot of people a while to get it.
@@Joe90h I'll forgive you for not remmebering when the 22 year old tag match between Lawler, his, Al Snow and a mannequinn head were. I do agree that in a venue with no titantron, it makes no sense but it's still my favourite shitty dumb heel finish and suits the "I'm the funniest and most charismat fuck ever" gimmick that the Lawlers had at the time
