Hella respect for Shane for taking the receipts like an adult and respect for Taker and Jericho for not treating him differently because he’s the boss’ son.
@@jonestralomabro he was part of the ring crew in the 90s and then a referee lmao and then even after that he still did some of the craziest stunts possible nothing about him was nepotism
Because it was an accident, no malice involved, and both knew he deserved it. You have to be a special kind of petty in the business to screw up, know you screwed up, and not be willing to accept your punishment like a man and move on. Im sure there are a few guys out there with stories about that to tell, thankfully they are the minority. This is a serious business with lives on the line, accidents can kill, so a reminder to not get sloppy is needed sometimes. :p
I remember when He no sold actually getting stabbed in the punisher when a real knife was used by accident; he played the Russian. Would not want to make him mad lol.
@@Eadwulf_Skald I wouldn't be surprised and you're right. Whole lot of focus and communication needed not to have a breach like what happened to Mike Tyson with someone pulling out a gun in that club, let alone get sucker punched or kids successfully use fake ID's.
Exactly and Randy, Jericho, and Shane knew that when Taker tells you that you've got a receipt coming even if you fear it and dread it just go ahead and take it like a man.
I will never understand the Puder one. like wtf did Puder think was gonna happen? "Wow, you locked one of our biggest stars in a hold that almost broke his arm! Want a world title run?"
@@cpfcrulek they know how the match will end, he knew he wasn’t supposed to try and win. He messed up and got what he deserved, it’s his own fault and no one else’s
Yeah, I'm not a fan of wrestlers taking those kinds of liberties, but they also had to send a message about not disrespecting the business and understanding his place in the hierarchy. That beatdown was as much for the younger talent as it was for Puder.
@@cpfcrulek it was a shoot match with a work ending basically show off your skills, apeal to the higher ups and the audience but make sure ya lose Puder thought he could pull a fast one and just win
I remember seeing Lesnar punch Braun after the knee the night it happened and you can see in Braun's eyes it was a real shot, the way his eyes lit up when he realized he just got punched right in the jaw for real
I saw that match, caught him right in the temple and stumbled him. Braun was a snail for the rest of the match, I thought he actually had gotten concussed from that punch. Brock is still a dangerous man.
let's be real, REAL knees to the face from one of these guys would probably immediately ko, if not even kill you. he didn't mean to really hit him, but sometimes you are just not focused enough to not hit your opponent. thats why the receipt concept exists. if roman reigns was to really hurt brock, he would be fired in an instant
@@gilfhunter42069 a knee to the face wouldn’t kill u ya lmao have u ever heard of kickboxing mma or much Thai The proof is in the video. Roman connects directly with his head at significant force and Brock appears to go limp. It isn’t like a pulled punch where you can see there is nothing behind it. His head completely wobbles from the knee
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 Nash said in an interview that was a mistake and Mabel was almost fired for it, but Nash stood up for him so Mabel could stay.
Best one ever was Stevie lighting up Bradshaw. Beautiful in everyway. And it wasn't a receipt for an accident. It was payback for a premeditated assault
@@scorpiusbalthazar4327 obviously I wasn't there but everybody I've ever heard tell that story says Joey styles walked up and punched him so hard Bradshaw fell right on his ass and was out. I believe they said it happened on either a WWE plane or a bus
In the Ultimate Warrior vs Andre match where Warrior slams Andre, Andre didn't like Warrior being stiff on him and certainly let him knew about it. After Warrior slams Andre hard (remember, Andre had serious back issues at the time) and tries to do a gorilla splash, Andre kicks Warrior in mid splash and starts brawling him, even throwing some hard punches at Warrior as he falls out the ring.
@KasumiR yeah, it's a well known story that Sheik was tough on the rookies/jobbers, and Andre didn't like that and showed Sheik who the big man in the locker room really was. In that famous match between them where Andre destroys Sheik, Andre literally picked up Kim Chee and dropped him on Shiek's face and Shiek didn't even expect that. Sheik probably had a busted nose after that.
There's another one I remember when RVD stiffed Kurt Angle. About 3 minutes later Angle hit him with a forearm that nearly removed his head from his shoulders.
Shamrock not only saw it coming, he turned his head to avoid the shot. I believe him that he was rolling with it. It makes sense that an MMA legend would have a hard time holding back after a lifetime of training his body to hurt people, and his reaction time is WAY too fast for Vader to have legit caught him with anything.
Whoa whoa whoa, we just not gonna talk about Perry Saturn and the Mike Bell payback match? Talk about a receipt from the boss. The APA beat the fuckin brakes off of him lol
Wrestling is such a fascinating profession. Acting and boxing, with healthy doses of respect and restraint to ensure the flashiest action with minimal injury.
"They treated me like crap, and very disrespectful". Tell you what, Puder. When you've earned that respect? You'll get that respect. But then, Puder got tossed, and then proceeded to pretend he was all that....and in 16 years since his time in WWE, he's amounted to exactly squat.
Exactly, what did he think was gonna happen. You don't disrespect a man like Kurt in the ring without expecting it to come back on you. Goes to show the level of respect Kurt had in that locker room.
I know a year later for comment and I apologise as this has only just come up on my feed now. Superb video and makes me feel like I'll watch these matches differently now. Brockl showing exactly why he's the beast, with receipt to Braun I feel he was still holding back a little, even though he rocked Braun hard, but I feel if it was total full power Braun would be out cold, goes to show the understanding Brock had and has for the business
So whats the deal with chair shots? If I recall, during Dark Side of the Ring Benoit episodes, they mentioned how you are EXPECTED to take a chair shot. Like stiff your neck up and brace for it. Are they saying the chair shots are supposed to be held back?
For the most part, they all accepted the receipt knowing that’s the way the code is written. Men knock each other out and then share a beer together. 🍻
You could have included Buh Buh's interview with Austin where he discussed laying it in on the APA with 2x4s and getting a stiff beat down next time they went on camera.
Puder commented on his match with Kurt as him "seeing a chance" and taking it and that there was nothing wrong done on his part, funny how it's "disrespectful" when he is on the other end
Angle had also been humiliating the other Tough Enough 'contestants'. They'd basically been brought in to stroke Angle's ego, and Puder was getting tired of seeing these guys getting cut off at the knees by someone who was supposed to have their backs, so he did something about it. And because Angle's tender little feelings got hurt, three people beat the shit out of Puder and tanked any chance of him having a career in pro wrestling.
The Shawn/Undertaker chair shots were storyline. This video presents the look on Shawn's face after hitting 'Taker as being an "oh shit" moment. No, Shawn realized he missed the guy he was aiming for and likely just handed the WWF title to him, and he was stipulated to count the fall. The return shot from Taker to Shawn in the Cell was poetic justice, as the entire feud had begun with Shawn hitting Taker with a chair and costing him the WWF Championship. It's good storytelling, guys. It's not real. This is the only time I've ever heard anyone make the claim that those chair shots were shoots. That claim is as stupid as it is plain wrong.
There was so much anger and frustration behind Diesel's receipt lol, wasn't the hardest of course, but you could see it in his entire body how frustrated he was lol
Waiting in anxiety for months for your receipt is torture by itself, It fits his character well, when the 6'10 dead man tells you that your payback is coming....one day ...
Folks saying getting receipts is one thing, potentially giving them CTE in the process is another, I agree. These days, any time I see an unprotected chair shot to the head, I think of the condition Benoit's brain was in when he did what he did. You want to "give a receipt," not give them life-altering(and in Benoit's case, tragic life-ending)consequences. Glad JBL and Blue Meany made up, and glad no lasting damage came of it.
I'd definitely be more scared of a receipt from Undertaker than Brock Lesnar. At least Lesnar will give it to you in the same match. Undertaker saying it's coming and you not knowing WHEN it's coming is nightmare fueling
To be fair to Daniel Puder, he had mma experience. Kurt Angel is an Olympic gold medalist. Going into business for yourself on TV isn't professional at all, and if you want to challenge someone, be man enough to let them know before hand. I'm sure Kurt would've LOVED to roll around with Daniel backstage, but let's be real honest for a second, there's weight classes for a reason, and Kurt would kill that dude rofl
Angle still got took by that kid. Could have dislocated Angle's shoulder if he wanted to. The way Angle was a whiny little biatch afterward only solidifies this point because Angle is not used to losing in real life, and he did.
Shamrock did not get hurt by the shot from Vader. Vader landed with the inside of the elbow. Vader might have intended it to be a receipt, but Shamrock rolled with that shot right on time.
Watching this months later, I just wanna say I wonder what ricochets receipt from Gunther is gonna look like. For reference, a few weeks before posting this comment IC champion Gunther had his head blasted open by a stiff chair shot by ricochet on smackdown.
