Hi Prof, thank you for this video and also for other videos! I'm currently preparing to apply for PhD and need motivation and a gentle reminder from time to time on things, as well as looking for support systems and community to grow and improve by learning from others. A huge help that I found your channel, thank you!
Excellent advice!! Also important to scrutinize/evaluate major advisor’s experience/interests/skillset/personality. It’s a good idea to speak with current grad students for their experiences and insight.
Pls do a video on research methodologies that do not involve field data collection. This would be helpful for working professionals who are either not permitted to use official data or their interest area lies elsewhere but do not have time for field data collection
Great video James. I would also add begin with the end in sight. What are the university regs for awarding a PhD ? What will your relationship with you supervisor be like and are you expectations realistic ? Above all read thesis from your area of interest to understand the structure and style for drafting a thesis and write to develop your writing style.
