I’ve had the spark for a while now and have even used it live for small, cafe style gigs but this new version looks to have has so many features that will make worth upgrading as soon as its available. Thanks for the video!
YOU have it! You are not "going through the motions" and mimicking. You feel it, you play it, it's in your soul. Thank you! I'll buy the amp too when it is available.
great demo! my only note would be to show the entire FX chain, though if you did that people would immediately ask for the settings lol. loved the variety of guitars, a nice range of tones and spot-on playing. thanks!
I have no idea how such a small modeling amp can produce such a range of sounds. Hats off! I’m guessing those presets are paid, right? Thanks for the awesome video!
The Tone Cloud for the Spark in the App is mostly created by other users you can test and download your favorites 10s of thousands to choose from some are great along with this Spark 299$ I’d buy the Spark FRFR Cab 300$ or the Spark live 140w 500$ rechargeable too battery sold separately slips into back and locks in
Great tones! My question that nobody answered me is if it also does the downtuning? Does it has a drop pedal simulator? If you want a Slash tone, does it also lower everything one half-tone to Eb standard? Spark 1 did not had one and you had to carry a Digitech Drop pedal with you everywhere.... It would be the selling point for me.... Now I use a Boss ME-90 that has a very nice drop effect up to one octave at the simple rotation of a button.
I don't know about this "looper was the most requested feature" thing. The Spark 40 was a non-starter for me because it had no outputs. There was no reason to not put basic connectivity beyond a headphone jack on v1. Seriously considering this one now.
Agree, although I've read that using the line out L/mono jack cuts the speaker. Not sure why they made that decision. Guess I'll find when I get mine end of Sept. Not holding my breath on that time line though, based on the first roll out in 2020.
I really love the tone of the spark amp when the live came out I was very excited it’s louder and all the option so I got one. I took to my friend he has a spark and a cap and we compared it and we both didn’t like the live. It don’t sound bad at all but like I said if you like the spark the live sounded boxed. We layed it on the side tryed it all still it didn’t sound great I gave it back. Now I have a spark with cab while I use a mic take the sound from the spark into the cab :) I hope the new engine in the spark 2 I don’t change the sound in a negative way
Ciao Danilo, grazie per il contenuto come sempre, hai per caso reso disponibili questi presets sul cloud di Positive Grid? Se si, sotto quale userid? Grazie!
Ciao bellissimo video.
I like the original Spark 40. Not as much of a fan of the Mini. I ordered the Spark 2. I use mine as a living room amp and having the looper built in is a welcome addition. No additional wires needed keeps it nice and tidy
I have both the 40 and Mini but actually use my Mini live more than I ever used the 40. Sounds great thru the line out into our PA. I think the Spark2 will be a game changer for a lot of people.
I got the first version, and while I liked some of the tone library emulations, there was like 20 different versions of the same artist/song. So it would take a while to find the best one. Some could be pretty good, but some were just bad. I was most disappointed by the sound quality of the 5 amp models, it sounded super muddy even with the bass on 0 and the treble on 10. I guess it was just meant for the library 🤷♀️. I gave it to my neighbor for a Xmas gift.
Weird that some expect this small amp to be like a 100 watts Marshall. Great tool to have a decent sound a low volume. Save your ears guys. no need to peel paint off the walls. I know they have one called LIVE. i think it is 150 watts so this should be ok with. a drummer unless the guy is a machine like the drummer from.Helloween.
I use the Valeton GP 200 for that. You can configure things in deep setting to thumb through patches and IRs in things like Neural DSP Saldano SLP 100 (great simm 99$) best artist formed patches I’ve ever used and it has a 30 day free trial drop down menses are key to finding awesome tones
Tones seem pretty good but can’t help but notice the lack of depth to the sound. If this was pushed through a large sounding powered PA maybe it would sound like an amp with tubes hitting a cabinet? It sounds really thin and small.
RU-vid sound and it’s less than 3 hundred bucks…if you want the real deal that sounds better than any Marshall Friedman I own, try the Axe Fx III and 2 stereo Mission Engineering cabs with foot switch for less than 10 grand 😮❤
Ironically, these tones are all inferior to the best of what's out there on the Spark app. Whatever tone you're looking for, somebody has absolutely nailed it. These are all pretty close but none of them are spot-on.
Amp selector is there and now it is 8 presets instead of just 4. It is a rotary. Push to change between bank a and bank b each having 4 presets. The Live is exactly the same.
From what I can gather, my impression from listening to this clip is this thing excels at lead tones, but fails at rhythm tones. I hope I'm wrong though...
