Broke my hip last Winter (live alone ) . Was on the floor for six hours and could not reach the phone to dial 911 . Thought I had all my preps taken care of . Would still be on the floor today Ambulance could not get in the house . Told them about a key under my shed -could not find it . The shimmed the door open . Make sure you have a key outside that someone can find . Three days in the hospital . Titanium pin in my leg . Was walking without a walker in 8 days . Had food delivered . Poison chocolate milk . Was sick for three days . Opioids caused severe constipation so bad I could not speak . Lost power for 20 hours in Winter (have electric heat ) . Have emergency wood in my cellar (having an ice storm and could not go outside . .Was able to feed and heat myself . .Connected the refrigerator to solar battery . Saved all my food . Following week lost power again for 18 hours . Same routine . Was so weak getting up every 2 hours for three days and no bowel movement . Forth day finally went . Without my preps and skills I would have been in big trouble . Need an emergency button or a cell phone if you fall and can not get up Took me four hours to crawl six feet to dial 911 on my cell phone-Saved my life .
