For anyone reading this, if you like to wear something and it is out of trend or considered "cringy", just wear it anyway. Life is way too short to worry about impressing people with your looks. Enjoy fashion, have fun with it, and don't worry about what people think of you.
okay noo gigi hadid and kendall jenner didn't "single handedly" change how cool or popular a trend is, okay? we're not just looking at a picture of some kardashian family member with any type of make up on and go "wow i hated that trend but now that kylie jenner is wearing it i think it's BOMB!! I HAVE to try that and spend all my money on it!!" it's not a thing
my friend told me that her dad said "glitter is the herpes of the art world" because "it keeps coming back" XD and i laughed because i agree i'm so obsessed with glitter that i'm banned from using it at home
"Skinny brows are back" I might just throw my phone out my window Edit: What I’m basically trying to say is that I don’t like it when people draw there brows on with like a sharpie or something but if you like to do that I’m not stopping you from doing it I’m just saying I don’t like it. If you were naturally born with skinny brows I’m not trying to hate on you, you can’t help it.
I never knew they were out of fashion. I've always hated the way people pluck their eyebrows. It looks so unnatural and horrible. Also the sharp edges people pluch or draw for their eyebrows... ew... I've seen that everywhere for about ten years. The soft and natural looking edges are far more beautiful and don't make you look like a clown or someone who had an accident or an illness that destroyed their brows and are getting five-year-olds to draw new ones (unless they did, that is a different story).
Really there alot of people that are born with it stop judge people what they like if u don't have something nice to say don't say it or text it people
Also even if people were following their influence it is the designer and makeup artist's merit, not the celebrity. People like Kendal are just wearing what they are told to when they get prepared to do runway.
Exactly. My mother's hey day was in the 40's when the red lipstick was in style. To her dying day she wore Revlon Red. And the older she got the cuter she got!
I followed the Instagram brow thing and grew out my eyebrows but now I realize thick man brows dont suit me so I'm back to medium brows (which in my opinion look best)
Jd or Jazzlyn Shelley Oh good god no I'm not 40 I'm 18 a reasonable age to be on the internet. I seriously recommend you let your parents know your talking to strangers on the internet (something you definitely shouldn't be doing.)
Okay, here's my top 10 problems with this video. 1. Bindis are cultural, decals are not bindis. 2. Most of these trends never went away. 3. They did not become popular because of a model. 4. STOP SAYING CRINGE WORTHY. Overuse of that term was the biggest throwback here. 5. Inner goth princess, you clearly know nothing about the goth scene. 6. Berry tones were popular in the 90s. 7. That was not all glitter some of those were holo. 8. Skinny brows are not in. 9. Normal brows are not because of Instagram. 10. Just wear what you like, no one really cares what's in anymore. Things being in or out is a throwback, we're past it. Just be yourself.
Yes I totally agree they can’t just call Bindis “cringe worthy” just bc they have nothing else to say they are part of a culture and frankly that’s quite offensive to call them “CRinGe WorThy” just to get veiws
I naturally have thick brows as well. But I think the "instagram brow" is more of the fact that they are shaped and cleaned up (and happen to be thicker as well because there is more to work with). And usually if thick brows are left in their natural state, they definitely do not look the same as "instagram brows", only similar in thickness. That's just what I get from the "instagram brows" trend, everyone sees things differently though 😊
im a full time fashion student. I'm super involved in local fashion events and jobs. i can say, none of this is true. Trends aren't a real thing. wear what you want to wear and only then will you turn heads. If what you wear doesnt reflect yourself it will never hold that pop, and you will never feel complete. the right clothing will give you confidence beyond what you may have previously thought possible. So. Stop. fashion mags and what not are for inspiration, not to clone yourself from.
Phoebe Oldman same. I have thick eyebrows, tons of people like my eyebrows, they tell me it all the time. I don't like the really thin eyebrows especially when girls feel like they need to have them it's your face your body just love it the way it is.
Spookey Kid I literally said "did she seriously just say that?" .....There's a huge difference between basic and goth....I bet this women doesn't even know what goth is...But on a side note, your profile picture is life its self, and Spookey Kids reminds me of Marilyn Manson...
I can’t believe tht no one is crediting Indian and African cultures for face art and bindis. This has been around way before the 90’s and it never left in the Indian and African culture!
Lol frosted lipstick was NOT EVER a trend in the 90's Blackberry lipstick and brown tones in lipstick were trending in the 90's...also the shade they attach to the kardashian girl was also popular in the 90's
ღ ღ everyone wore frosted lips :o where were you?? The dark nude shades were popular, too, but "shimmers" were super popular. Especially in the earlier 90's
this video is wrong all over the place but honestly, frosted lipstick was popular all the way through the 2000's, and it's still popular now, just not a "trend"
if u looooove the talko subscribe to me i subscribe to u back nooo shit ok !!! pink look ammmmmazing on white girl iam not been racist but becuz of light coler
They should have used a larger variety of skin tones to prove that point yes. Although, it's not like these videos seem to have a lot of thought/effort put into them. However, your comment seems to imply that white people have the same skin tone
4:07 NOOOOO!!!!! I like "The Instagram brows" because I have them already. I hate "skinny brows" because I got bullied for my bushy brows in school. When Instagram brows were in trend, everyone loved my eyebrows, and suddenly everyone was jealous of me. I don´t want to go back to the dark era again.
I don't understand the stupid things people do to get likes like "the number of like is the person you are" or "1 like=1 year older" I mean seriously???
I'm not even a part of that culture, but even I get offended when people wear a bindi to be "trendy." Like no, boo boo... Some people even wear a sari as a "trend," and I'm over here getting offended. Is that weird for me to get offended by something even if it's not a sign of disrespect toward me personally?
Jho Freeman that's what stupid fat acceptance people say. Also I'm calling fat acceptance stupid, because woman are shouting at men to all of a sudden change their standards, think risking their lives to be obese is healthy, and if some fat man wanted to date you, than you would say no in a flash.
Pinkie Pom did you know it is men who do that not Girls because all the boys like big butts and all that and the girls don't even care so you are just saying you don't like girls and you don't have to be to rude about other people!
Cherry plier I agree with you, but also I believe they do it for marketing reasons too. They get the most popular model or celebrity to wear one of their "custom made" styles hoping they would sale out to the majority, idk
anime Sartorius chill out. we all have our opinions. if you like your skinny eyebrows then great, but don't be so dramatic when someone says they don't like them
Why do so many people care about what celebrities like and don't like. I for one could care less if I see something I like I'm wearing it popular or not. 🦇
Yolandalyc I used to wear hot pink lips cuz I'm white and thought that's what was supposed to be on my lips but hindsight tells me that was not as cute as a light coral. I've seen hot pink lips on filipinas since my step fam brought me a cousin canvas and now I see that hot pink lips looked cuter on darker tones. I also like when asians use the gradient lip with hot pink but only if they're cute tbh.
That moment, when you were made fun of for being alternative, but now everyone is ''embracing their inner goth princess''. So,basically something is cool when a white girl or an instagram model does it.
littlepinkskeleton MY. MOM. HATES. THAT. IM. EMO. But she can never change that. Sure, take away my My Chemical Romance shirts, ban me from listening to Marilyn Manson and motionless in white!!!! You can't change what's inside a person.
I thought barbie pink definitely was not "in" but if you look at Miley's recent outfit or any teen choice award review it was either on their lips or a part of their outfit. Would have never guessed.
Dude you can't claim a tutorial works for EVERY skin tone when you only show one. All that shows is that it works for that one. I'm not being a baby, I'm pointing out something that needed to be addressed
Wow, so you think Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner are responsible for the return of certain trends? You must live under a rock, or you are just plain basic.
Nope. I don't agree to thin brows. Not at all. Just let them be natural or at least let them look normally if you have a complete mono brow or you just don't like your brows.
wtf. i have thin eyebrows and i am getting quite annoyed when people are constantly insulting thin eyebrows and making tutorials on how to get thick eyebrows, etc.
Nnenda Tasie Amadi actually.. a lot of people are sheep. The overlined lips and matte lipstick was made "trendy" because of Kylie. As well as the contour trend a few years ago that became popularized by Kim. To say people aren't influenced by popular figures is ignorant. There's sheep everywhere.
Doll House with her overlined lips everyone was obsessed over? Yes. Whether you like her or not she popularized it. I've always preferred matte lips and before she came out looking like she sucked a suction cup. It was quite difficult to find the perfect matte lipstick as it wasn't so popular.
Skinny brows aren't even in trend. I was born with dark, filled, and thick eyebrows. Plenty girls come up to me, compliment me, and say they wish they had my eyebrows. But honestly, embrace what you were born with. Show what your mama gave ya.
I was in my early tweens and teens back in the late 90s and early 00s, and I remember thinner eyebrows and pin-straight hair were super popular. I've always had wavy, poofy hair and thicker eyebrows. I bought a flatiron one day and would fuss about my eyebrows, and I remember my mom said once, "You'll see, later, natural hair and thick eyebrows are going to be in and wanted by every girl. Those that ruined their eyebrows are probably going to have to paint them on because they are no longer able to grow them back." I was like "whatever" at the time, but I eventually stopped ironing my hair and wishing to have thinner eyebrows, and I learned to love and accept what I had. I even found that it suited me better. People have always complimented me too, raved about my hair's thickness and said, "I wish I actually had eyebrows [like you]." I don't know what I was fussing over back then, but you know, teens... Now years later, wavy hair and thick eyebrows are in.
laura 5SOS My eyebrows are naturally skinny and neat...I try to draw them thick once, but they didn't compliment my face at all and I look ridiculous and old, LOL. So I just love my own skinny eyebrows no matter what the trend say... 😉
noonespecial hahah i tried one time on my mom to make her eyebrows and I took some foundation and covert her eyebrows and I draw over them and I just made a line and I was like I'm done and my mom was just like I take me like one hour and my eyebrows are not even covert
I have really thin eyebrows n they're blonde. My eyelashes are blonde too. So when I don't wear make up, everyone thinks o shaved my eyebrows n eyelashes. However, now that bigger eyebrows are "in", I don't have them n when I try n make them look bigger, it's horrible. My 18 year old daughter is really into make up n all the new "trends" n "techniques". She tells me my make up looks like it's from the 90's. Well, that is when I was really into make up n that's the way I know how to do it. She's tried to do my make up before n it was horrible. Wayyyy too much make up n steps n I felt like a clown. I'm 41 n think I look just fine how I do my make up. It doesn't stop attracting guys lol. So I say do what you want, like, work with what you have or know, n just whatever makes YOU happy! We were all made to look different naturally, so why not look different when you wear make up? My motto is BE YOURSELF n BE HAPPY!
you shouldn't have to depend on treads to just do what you want with your makeup or outfit. i'd walk outside, rocking the bold red lipstick and bold mascara, and crazy eye shadow making a tiger look on myself. it didn't match, but i didn't care. i loved it, and that is all that should matter. if you like something, you shouldn't be embarrassed to embrace it anytime of year, day, month or season. wear Christmas for July, Halloween for Christmas, and 4 of July for Halloween. it's one of the funniest and most random trends going on, I personally like it call it "Christmas confuzzled." (because your mixing the holidays around) but seriously, our modren day and age had a much more deep and understanding society, to where people will not care what trend you are rocking. if its a new trend your starting, heck get the gang in on it. if you're rocking a 70's superstar, then rock it! just be yourself and do not let anything tell you otherwise.
Trends help keep the economy going. Change with the trend and throw the old stuff away and go buy the new. That keeps you buying and keeps people working to supply all the sheeple. Praise be to the sheeple.
+Karina Reyes Why did you say "bushy/natural?" Are you under the impression that no one has eyebrows that naturally on the thin side? That's not true, if that's the case. Some people do have naturally skinny eyebrows, myself included. Eyebrows, much like the people that they're on, come in various shapes and sizes. They're all beautiful.
Karina Reyes You said you like bushy/natural brows better than skinny brows, but if skinny brows can be natural then how would you like skinny brows more than skinny brows...? Hmmm quite contradicting.
I had this female teacher in the 8th grade who wore hot pink lipstick everyday in September - November until the principal of our school asked her to stop because it was too unprofessional
Regarding why facial decoration, such as bindis, stopped being a trend...It's because they're NOT decoration. They're NOT a trend. They're a cultural symbol that should be respected.
Yes, I am African American I I realized that. It was never a trend and it will never be, it is a representation of culture and religion. Whoever the Talko person is sounds very ignorant.
Den Mother Arkala Just want to let you know that in those days Gwen Stefani's boyfriend, Tony Kanal, was a hindi. She probably wore a bindi to celebrate his culture.
