If you do sink laundry at a hotel use a towel and roll up the wet clothes. Stand on the roll for a minute or so. Still wet but it takes way less time to dry.

Do people not bring shammy towels with them? I've been backpacking here and there and it's far more useful then a microfiber towel.

Honestly, I get that black is versatile and goes with everything, but Tom looks so good with colors! The light blue, yellow and even that patterned shirt go so well with his complexion.

One of the best tips I've found from living in a warm, humid climate (eastern Texas) is to wear lightweight, loose clothing that's preferably made from natural fibers. I don't get nearly so wet from sweat when I wear a loose 3/4 sleeve peasant blouse as I do when I wear a regular t-shirt. Wide-leg pants in light fabrics are also nice and cool. The absolute best item of clothing for summer is the good ol' muumuu (loose dress from Hawaii). It's not the most fashionable item; but when it's 95 degrees with stupidly high humidity, I really don't care what I look like as long as I'm not sweating my butt off.

Agreed i was there at the end of July on a mission trip and we did alot of walking next time ill get wicking clothes for that.

Agree with pretty much everything, except you've made what's known as naturalistic fallacy. And going by that flawed logic, I've seen many people recommend "natural" cotton, but that's mostly not a good choice in such climates. I've been better off with "unnatural" quality tech sports t-shirts that were able to wick away moisture quickly. Not saying they would be my first choice (merino would be), but I'd take them over cotton for sure. Then again, not every tech tee is made the same, some really are like plastic so ymmv (and then I'm sure there's differently weaved cotton that might fare better than the "regular" stuff).

Removing sweat/smell is great to avoid attracting mosquitoes , so get a body sponge scrub and you can calmly foam up and wipe down with a portable towel if theres no shower close. You can try it at home as a “water saving day” or training for those moments when water is rationed in some places

Hemp and linen is an alternative to Merino if you're vegan or specifically in hotter climates where Merino might not be the best option. If you're not too fond of microfiber towels, whether if it's because of environmental (microplastics) or comfort preferences, look into linen towels, they get softer after usage and compared to cotton they pack smaller, lighter, odor resistant, holds more water, and dries faster. To add to the hydration part, make sure to have your salts in check, especially if you sweat a lot. Packing some electrolyte supplements/energy drink powders can help when you're in a pinch. Menthol has been shown to improve performance in runners during hotter environments, ingestion being the most effective way (menthol and cold water seems to be the best). Mileage may vary and not everyone is a fan of menthol but it was worth a mention.

Sea to Summit biodegradable wipes and LiquidIV are necessities for me. Just hiked the Incan trail and both were godsends. The wipes are good enough to wipe old sunscreen, bug spray, sweat etc and can be buried bc they're eco friendly. Liquid IV allows me to get hydrated faster with less water. One in the morning and one at night with only 2L of water is more than enough for a whole day imo.

I've been buying Vivobarefoot shoes for my family for the past few years and not only are they the only thing we want to put on our feet in the way of shoes, they pack super flat, and I can even pack a pair or two of my size 13 in my Radian with no problem. I think we've accumulated 14 pair. The primus knits look great and feel great for the city streets, and their trail shoes are awesome off-pavement. We love their sandals and hiking boots as well.

Jeans. Not only do they protect from possible accidents, sun and elements, but they don't need that much washing. With normal use it's considered normal to wash Denim jeans every six months! (Be sure to hang them to breathe though, they're not that magical AND if you get them dirty a bit with a couple of stains, just get a towel or wet wipe and use that) Sure, they're not that packable, but you can definitely wear them when you're on the airplane. (again airplanes are cold as heck, so...) Obviously they need to be GOOD Denim Jeans.
@DarkoNomad

Good suggestion but guys you missed to mention a proper dark colored microfiber towel. I use the same one to protect my shaved head from the sun, wipe my sweat, sit or lay in the shade where I need, wash it fast, dry it fast, make a shelter for photo editing on my phone, even to carry fruits and groceries to avoid plastic bags, cover my legs or hands from mosquitos or heavily air conditioned spaces... I don't know how could you travel without such, that would be the most important thing without which I can't travel in hot weather.

My husband is a big fan of Habit vented short sleeve button down shirts and Mission (other brands, too) moisture-wicking crewnecks. 😁❤️☀️ That is a great multi-use suggestion for a one-piece swimsuit. My favorite accessories for hot days are fold-up hats, scarves or bandanas tied around my ponytail or bun (or a bag/backpack handle/strap), and larger style earrings, all of which are cool and add stylish touches. 😁❤️☀️

For the tropics I wear Columbia men's button up shirts...You can get some with the little dots of high tech stuff that react with sweat and water to cool you. Summer weight material. Not the thicker winter shirts. Get at least a size too large, roll the sleeves up and leave untucked. a size too large to allow air circulation between the shirt and my body. Thin material long cargo zip off pants, and my Teva Holliway men's sandals so I can go barefoot, but still protected from the streets. Top it off with a medium brim ventilated hat to protect your head from the sun, and you're good to go. Great for south east Asia. There is a reason you see men there and in India and Sri Lanka wearing long sleeves and long pants.... Sun protection. I learned my lesson. I'm 70 this November and still travelling minimalist for months at a time. Used to use a 45 litre M.E.I Voyageur, and then a 35 litre Minaal 2.0 Carry On. Now I use a 21 litre Minaal Daily 3.0, and an Osprey 6 litre cross body sling bag. Carry on only. No checked bags, no waiting at carousels.
