With all due respect sir second point is applicable only when your car is on plain road .if you are on sloppy road and you release foot break then release the clutch then you might hit the rear car .

Thanks much, very informative and helpful for me. kuch time to half gear main Bhi engine ek noise create karti hai (reverse k time pe) wo mere saat 4/5 baar ho chuka hai and its a new car, not sure how much damage i made. its a new car and that's why i am worried. looking at the road of Kolkata(from your recording) I feel more complexity for a new driver.

This half clutch techniques has to be used in Kanpur traffic a lot, bec. It's not smooth at all, one need to have sudden acceleration and sudden breaking. No way out.

These are great theoretical suggestions, some of which, unfortunately, do not work well with the practicalities of Indian traffic. E.g., if you allow for the time to press the clutch, put 1st gear, and then move in tight traffic, be very sure that at least 2-3 bikers will fill that gap in front of your vehicle and won't let you move AT ALL. Another problem is with the upslope traffic. To push the car without falling back, the clutch's biting point needs to be reached with the footbrake on -- how otherwise will you do it? The handbrake method is too digressing and problematic.

Agree with you bro..felt same in the uphill slow moving traffic.. need to hold foot brake until clutch bittng point and then hold half clutch and apply break simultaneously to move in traffic

There are around hundred rules for clutch. Best is to keep on replacing clutch every alternate year. Keeping note of so many things is almost impossible for newbies

Use handbrake, put in 1st gear, give some acceleration by releasing 30% clutch and release hand brake... Vehicle will move forward instead of going back on a slope

The thing I do is: Keep my right foot on brake, clutch pressed and 1st gear engaged. When traffic move little bit. Releasing clutch slowly as usual and as it reaches bitting point, release brake and press accelerator a slightly more than usual. The other method is also convenient, PB@India mentioned here. What I follow or experienced is, keep ur vehicle on first gear, one foot on clutch and another on break. Release clutch slowly till car starts vibrating, and then slowly release break but not fully and u will notice ur car will move without giving race. If traffic is cleared then use race.

Thank you So much information on clutch and gear, I have a question Sir, please advise. I drive manual transmission car from 11years and I cultivated habit of running car in Netural on inclined road where their is traffic. Instead of running in 1st gear with clutch applied in traffic, I feel comfortable in Netural only when roads are little inclined. Is this a good practice and does this effect clutch plates. I drive in Bangalore City bumper to bumper traffic. Thx

श्रीमानजी आपने दस बातें तो बता दी, किंतु सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात नहीं बताई । यदि गाड़ी को पहाड़ी पर चढ़ा रहे हों और लगातार अधिक समय तक हाफ क्लच दबाए रखा तो शत् प्रतिशत आपकी क्लच प्लेट खराब हो जायेगी । शेष जानकारी अच्छी है ।

Sir, I need your advice. Someone hit my new car rear bumper and some screw portion got broken. Please advise can i claim insurance. Please share your no. I need your valuable advice..

Recently I faced the same. My car bumper was broken. You may ask the person who hit the car for compensation. If only screw will fix the bumper and bumper is not broken or sensors are fine, paint is also not removed. I mean to say if it just a small thing which can get repaired on local garage within 2000 than don't claim. Because when you claim, there is a processing charges which is around 1000rs. And next year your NCB (no claim bonus) will be intact. Or if it is visible and there is always an attachment with the new car than go for claim forget everything. You car will be as new again. Make sure to cross check with ASC about the details, like bumper replacement if required or pant job will match with the car body. Etc.

Ask for the estimation for the job. And there are insurance person who will guide you if it will be cover under insurance or not. Don't go for welding, ask ASC for complete removal and installation cost. That will go for complete inner line of the bumper. Go for cashless insurance claim if service center has tie up with your insurance company. Or if it just a small thing and bumper will be intact and in earlier condition ask ASC to do the task. Before that get the quote of the work. You have both the option open. You need to decide how much you have to pay with claim or without claim. And the car need to be kept for how many days in both the case. What will be the look after the work. Calculating all these aspects you will surely make a choice.

No worries, try to rectify it. It may take some days to get it in your driving habit. Please be careful while driving or rectifying mistakes, it should not hurt anybody or yourself. Note : Machine can be repaired but human are more precious be it self or others on road.
