Yeah, but who knows. Maybe the parents have been on land before. That makes sense. They saw how much the humans hated them, so that’s why they try to keep Luca away from there.
3:25. You are partially right. Normaly fishes can't breath at the surface, but there are quite some species of fishes that have their swiming bladder vascularized and concted to the throat. So when there is not enough oxigen in the water they can breathe air. Only for a limited period of time variating from a few minutes to hours

The first mistake is I'm afraid a misinterpretation of what's going on. Luca was in a bit of shock as well as panic because he disobeyed his mother's orders. He wasn't discovering he could breathe on land, Alberto was telling him to breathe in order to calm him down. Luca's only discovery was what he saw within his immediate environment. Also the grandmother admitted that she's been on land before and Luca is aware of the transformation given the family conversation they had while eating.
Many of these mistakes are quite obvious to me too, but I chose to ignore them as to not dampen my overall enjoyment. It’s an animated movie aims at kids, they got more leeway than movies with serious tone, or live action ones…
You missed one- Their tails would make holes in their shorts, correct? Sooooooo- there'd be holes where their tales were.. but there isn't. *Thanks Disney, seriously no joke, for that one*
Missed: when giulia is eating there you can see theres a second eater and when giulia leave you can see the second eater is gone but his trennte are full but you cant see him when the bike scene
1. We do see that Luca is able to exhale air (bubbles) underwater. He does this when he is bored. We never see gills on them. They are not fishes. Amphibians can breath underwater, but they also use their skin for breathing. Also sea folks talk underwater and this needs lungs. 2. We see them just shrug off water and transforming back really quickly. It's not mistake. 3. That's indeed a mistake, but it could easily be fixed by making him wear boots, like when they were fishing. 4. That neighbor is not there when they wake up and panic. She appears after they are clean and dry. Also they are using long focus camera mode there, that neighbor is on the other side of the plaza, at least 25-50 meters away. 5. Having a sign forbidding something and everybody doing it anyway is not mistake. Now, if you want real mistakes or artistic hand-waves: 1. Where did Ercole drive from with his Vespa? 2. When boarding the train, Giulia didn't open the cart door. 3. How do their tails go through their trousers, without ripping them up? (That one I've read from somebody else and I can't unsee it anymore.)
OOH! I think I found one! Remember Gelato Kid? (Probably Mrs. Marsigliese's son) He's the first kid Lorenzo hucks into the water to see if he's Luca. Then as Lorenzo and Daniela flee the scene we see the Underdogs run behind and past the Paguros to listen to Mrs. Marsigliese give the rules of the race. In that crowd we see Gelato Kid has way too quickly recovered from being chucked into the sea, is perfectly dry, AND is enjoying another Gelato! And got there before the Underdogs, who set out after Gelato Kid got pushed into the water. So that's either a mistake or Gelato Kid is quick to recover from bad stuff, is really fast at running, and the Gelato place always has a cone ready for him at any given moment. And maybe he really wanted to go see his mom give her presentation. (I think she's his mom because at the victory dinner he is standing next to her and they're two of the only three humans we see inside the yard fence who aren't basically family already. The third being an elder gentleman who is clearly a good friend of the two elder ladies who came out as Undines when Luca and Alberto did. )
When you were talking about how Luca and Alberto changed to humans instantly when they jump out of water, I think it's because they were in the sun and as they jump the wind could have dried them faster.
What doesn’t add up is the fact that they can do anything, I mean, can you immediately go on wet surfaces with a bike at full speed when you literally just started biking a week ago? For me, probably not, and yet physics still exist in it. But I don’t doubt your comment in any way
I think the gills might be like the hair scales. Axolotls (Which the sea monsters remind me of) have little gills sticking out. I wish I could breathe underwater as a sea monster and have a tail lol
Just because someone is out on a balcony during the day or evening, there is no reason they would see something off their balcony in the morning. Perhaps the would be out early, and perhaps not. It is silly to assume that she saw them change. On top of that it just makes sense that if it started raining they would go inside. It makes absolutely no sense to claims the woman on the balcony would have seen them turn into sea monsters in the rain.This is not a mistake.Try again.
I noticed a mistake after watching the movie a few times!!! So in the begining when Luca, Luca starts in the ocean and has his fish body and he's never been a human before right? Well he is wearing pants that allow his fish tail to poke through. But somehow when he did first go on land, his tail disappears but it's like the hole that would be in his pants just patched up magically or something. Wouldn't there be a whole in his pants?? 😂
The football one is kinda like bike laws in Ohio. It's illegal to ride your bike on the sidewalk. No one is going to stop you and it's doesn't hurt anyone so who cares and who's gonna do anything. It's not a contradiction it was to show culture and the fact that the police have decency
I just noticed when their sleeping on the tree house, Alberto’s tail is going through his shorts and that makes Luca’s the same. I reckon when they were swimming and jumping out of water the air would be forcing them to dry except yes they did transform a little too quickly 😆
There's also two little weird things in the end credits, where we see Massimo at the Paguro's and Daniela and Alberto read Luca's letter. The first thing is that Massimo seems to hold the crab with his right arm, that he's not supposed to have. And the second one is how the letter doesn't disintegrate into water ? 😅 But these are just details and don't prevent the movie from being awesome ! Edit : so I just checked on Google if waterproof paper exist and it actually does so the second thing may not be an error after all Edit 2 : there's also a little thing that bothered me a little in the Portorosso Cup scene : when Luca goes to the pasta eating trial (is it how we say it in english ?) and Ercole makes him fall, revealing Luca with his sea monster face, I find it really weird that no one notices it because, in the previous frames, it is shown that a lot of people still look in the direction of the sea, so they should have seen him
For the second thing, I always wondered that too, how nobody had noticed that. But then the scene immediately after when it shows the table of kids eating pasta pretty much all of the crowd that you can see is facing the table except for some people who are still watching the remaining swimmers so maybe nobody really was watching him, being too focused on the other people? That’s what im saying for myself anyways haha
In the Thumbnail I noticed another mistake Lucas arm turned into his regular see monster arm and The arm was not in the water yet It hadn't even been touched by water
it's NOT THE END ACTUALLY! also when Luca is like hugging Alberto's face to pull him down under the table to wipe him off, why is he not getting wet when he grabs his face AND when he is wiping the water off with his bare hands?!

I think it was just that Luca was becoming closer friends with giulia, nothing romantic between them at all, but Alberto was just jealous that Luca had a new close friend besides him
What i think about their “gills” aren’t actually gills, they possibly every now and then, will go up for air. When you look back at the clip where they nearly got pierced by a rock whilst riding their homemade Vespa, they fell in the water, but they gasped for air. So the probably weren’t prepared for the water coming into their mouths as a surprise. But I respect your opinion either way, I was just making this guess to explain their ability to breathe on land in their sea monster form.
i saw a mistake when Luca and Alberto were beat up by the old ladys Alberto finishes his icecream but Luca didn't yet,then he sees that Portoroso hunts seamonsters he talks to Alberto and the icecream disappears

I actually got one too, so when Ercole parks his red vespa a ball hits the vespa and it almost fell so now when Ercole checks on his vespa if There is a scratch and if you look carefully at one of the tire wheels on the vespa you can see the wheel is floating and not sticking the ground and just so Ercole starts saying “out of towners“ and if you keep looking at the vespa the tire wheel now appears to stick in the ground who noticed that part?

At the end of film alberto and luca crys be cus their luca is going to shool and alberto will not see him for another year so when they cryed they didnt turn even a little bit to sea angels i know you sey it not like that but they are engels arent they? And yeah drops are water to soo this is a mistake to😕
Dude…you realize amphibians breathe in water and air right? Legit, there could be any number of reasons they are able to breath just fine on land in their monster form, but you are so much smarter than the rest of us, I guess you’re right🙄. No wonder your views tanked in just a few weeks.
