ABOUT BELOW DECK:
Captain Lee, Kate, and Ashton reunite as a team and embark on an exciting new season in Thailand on mega yacht “Valor.” After his brush with death last season and promotion to bosun, Ashton’s work hard, play harder persona is at an all-time high. While his leadership on deck holds strong, Ashton struggles below deck to keep his emotions in check after the crew gets an unexpected surprise that rocks Ashton to his core. Chef Kevin’s high standards and strict rules for the kitchen and service clash with Kate’s stew style, leading to fiery confrontations in the galley. Kate tries to foster a productive work environment for her team, but when Simone feels favoritism to Courtney, the stews go head-to-head. When Abbi is unable to adapt to the high demands of yachting, Brian and Tanner are forced to pick up the extra work. Brian, Ashton, Tanner, Simone, Courtney, and Kate all find themselves in and out of love on the boat, resulting in love triangles and heartbreak. With one demanding charter group after another, the crew is tasked with entertaining playboys and party girls this season; but after a shocking departure, the teams must band together to welcome back a crew member from seasons past.

It was a harmless question. She said "Let's talk about something else. Ashton, how's your Mom?" There was no underhanded agenda. She was attempting to change the subject because she was uncomfortable with their behavior. It's kind of like saying: "So, how about them Dodgers?" It's a way of attempting to change the subject and until Ashton actually owns his behavior without the "Yeah, but..."... then maybe he will grow as a person.

Amanda Amundson exactly! He was so trashed he couldn’t take Kate even mentioning his mom. I was waiting for him to blame it all on “Smashton”, which has been his excuse any other time he’s behaved badly!! I was surprised he didn’t say it!! I hope they never allow him back for another season of Below Deck! He can say he isn’t a misogynist, but his own words and actions show otherwise!

Omg, if this was a corporate world, Ashton and the other men would have been fired. His behavior was abusive and the after season conversion was outrageous. I don't blame Kate for finding another job. Captain Lee where were you, he should have known the tone of the boat. Scary. I don’t know if I could watch another episode with Kevin as chef. He is not a team player at all. He sets himself up as the know~it-all in every situation situation and could not take any criticism from a guest/staff. If everyone doesn’t see him as the greatest in every situation, he becomes a bully and criticizes everyone.

Even tho I really can NOT stand Rhylie I do think Ashton was hella harsh towards her at times but in the same moment her attitude does not help the situation so I'm kinda on the fence about it but that's my OWN OPINION. You will ALWAYS find out who your TRUE FRIENDS are when it comes to losing a child, spouse, a friend or a family member because no matter what your friend is doing or going through their selves they will ALWAYS be there when you need them the most. I remember when my grandma passed unexpectedly 2 hours after having family day with all of us and I texted my 3 "best friends" that I needed them and ONLY 1 texted and came immediately to support me. The other 2 took a week to text back so I was done with them🤷.

Of course, Kate & Captain Lee are interviewed together! I had to stop watching when they were both being questioned about Ashton... IF Rhymes would have pulled her shit on EITHER ONE OF THEM, she would have been gone. Poor Rhylee... Kate & Lee seemed to forget that she couldn't get along with ANYONE her first season on BD-not even Princess Kate. Kate saw on opportunity to keep things stirred up with the deck crew by running her !South to Rhylee. Thinking back to all of the seasons on BD, Did Lee ever correct her about ANYTHING??? (& no, he only questioned her about the Rocket ship/penis blanket. I'm so glad that they both are off the show... As hard as this season was to watch, watching Kate spiral out was a silver lining.

Serious accusations that the women on the boat have accepted as fact after one person threw that word out and now they take it as gospel that he's misogynistic, and it's frustrating.

Ashton is so arrogant to sit there and say he’s overcome his aggression issues. Tanner even admits that Ashton was going to punch Kate. It’s scary to see this type of thing happen and for Bravo to do nothing. There has to be policies in place to protect people on these shows. Ashton shouldn’t work again in this industry or any other until such time as he changes his behaviour, apologises for what he has done, accepts his behaviour is 100% WRONG and receives the help he desperately needs.

Rylee is rough around the edges, but she didn’t get a handshake and a welcome from the crew. Ashton would talk to the guys separately, allot jobs that left her out, or didn’t reply to questions. Note that Ashton’s talk was a means to cut her dwn. He didn’t listen to a word. He then wanted her fired so she wouldn’t get hired in the future.

Never once have any of the men on this season ever taken any responsibility for their actions. Sexual assault, I was drunk and having fun. Physical assault, that ninety five pound woman made me attack her. Misgynistic attitudes towards women.... everyone talks like that. Kate was wise to get off the boat that night and put space between her and Ashton. He was extremely aggressive and overbearing that night and I would not have trusted him. She got away from the situation a sensible move on her part. Of course she came back as she wouldn't let down Captain Lee.

Tanner did not want to kiss and tell, to Rhylee, but he DID plan on telling Ashton and Brian...AND HE WAS THE ONE WHO told Rhylee far more than even Ashton requested. Tanner also said, “You need something to do.” ...Used Simone to prevent boredom...and this is the nice one? The blackout drunk... Brian is so digging himself deeper...he made himself sound SO serious about Courtney, but here he makes it sound differently

It's more than obvious he would've gotten physical with Kate. I applaud Kate, she kept her cool, I was actually scare for her. Ashton should've gotten fired and not even given another second on tv where instead of apologizing or feeling remorse, he just keeps making up excuses.

Ashton's behavior is so narcissistic. The way he spoke to Kate in the kitchen is unacceptable. Kate IS the chief stew and has more leeway and then bringing in her age? I bet the guests have a much better time with her management and don't worry about her age. Bravo should've fired him on the spot. Do you remember in S4 when that crazy lead deck hand threatened Nico when they were out and he got fired. I suppose female abuse is not a thing right 🤯 Just listening to all those guys talking about these women, sickening. Toxic male masculinity at its finest.

I'm rewatching this season with my husband. When I watched it the first time I hadn't watched any of these after show interviews. I love how Ashton said that the "boys locker room talk should never get out to the girls". That sounds like he understands that if women knew what these boys thought of them they wouldn't be getting any action. I also love how the boys seemed to justify their actions on all of these interviews but on the reunion show they were all so apologetic and then got mad when the apologies seemed to only be coming from one side of the stage. It was priceless when Kate called Ashton out on him taking a year to decide to deal with his drinking or the fact that he had 1 therapy session. I'd love to know if he continued with therapy and if he discovered any of his own flaws.

I just started watching this series a little while ago, so just reaching these episodes now and I thought the same thing about the difference between seeing the guys' attitudes here compared to how they tried so hard to seem apologetic on the reunion. I wonder if they all had attorneys at that point and were getting advice by the reunion? Ashton made sure to mention defamation and libel in the first five minutes of the first part of the reunion. I never watched any of these after shows before, but came to find this after the reunion. It seems like they film these before they even see the episodes and before they hear how people respond to their behavior. Like at this point they still thought they were going to come out looking cool.
