Your energy and love for the game and the spice is infectious and fun, makes this my favorite yugioh channel by far And speaking on behalf of all the new goat noobs thanks for the warm welcome !!
Ayoo! love to hear it! Welcome to the format! there will be much much more to come on this channel so stay tuned. Also make sure you get into the discords for more events that come up often if you ever need help on your goat journey make sure you reach out!
Blowback also forces your opponent to respond with chainables on target as they would to, say, Mobius or Granmarg, which gives you a ton of information every turn, even if you lose the coin flip.
I'd like to see more "Cards you should consider playing" videos. Maybe every time you make a video, people can mention cards you forgot and you can mention them in a follow up video.
@@GoatFormat I have another idea for a video: a bunch of duelists who play Solemn Judgment get together online and talk about how to use SJ, such as when to set it, what to use it against, how many copies to play, and how to play against it.
Ha Des is really good. Shuts down Turbo by itself, gets over every Monarch, Jinzo, and Nephthys. Stops Sangan, Serpent, and recruiters. Very solid card
Dark Dust Spirit is really notable as one of the few good reusable tribute outlets. DDS with Strike Ninja and D.D. Scout Plane is a pretty sick loop. Also can be a good consistency piece if you're trying to make Last Will work. I've been working on a deck that puts these elements together and it's really fun.
My friend recently got me back into GOAT format, haven't touched Yu-Gi-Oh since my highschool days when it started getting crazy with synchros and stuff like that. I'm glad to have found your channel! Great energy, enthusiasm and charisma to go with the nostalgia of this game!
Dang JDZ with the consistent content, well deserved spot light my guy Also dark dust wipes the whole board, so might be a good tech for burn as well since they want to Ojama loc. blowback is legit but after hitting 9 tails in a row, makes you reconsider 😅 Also Fire closing beat !!!!!
I think it can support it with the amount you can special summon but zombies strength as you know is their ability to maintain a board presence so sometimes the dark dust might conflict. but in specific matchups it can be really good! let me know how it goes!
Current format player. I love how many old tributes were "high cost" and high reward (high cost as in having to setup their summon and the protect it), makes for such interesting gameplay
Megarock Dragon. It's more of a build around card but along with Gigantes (or Rock Spirit, but why?) it opens gate for Rock Return deck. It's especially funny with all the rocks that can flip themselves face down (Guardian Sphinx, Golem Sentry etc) because after summoning them via Return and flipping them face-down you keep them on the field.
Love this energy!! I'm adding some tribute spice to my Dark/Chaos GOAT deck and appreciate you speaking honestly about the cards you like. I always run Chaos Command Magician, no matter how many times it bricks🤣. He's cool, unaffected by targeted monster effects, 2400 ATK, and it's a Light in the GY for Chaos summoning. Gonna go back and watch the spell/trap videos!
I really dig this video! Super interesting list, and great to see those cards get some love. Dark dust spirit is an old fav of mine lmao I’d love to see more videos like this, or even a series on this topic!!
Love this! Blowback seems to never work for me in Reasoning Gate but I still run it when I play that deck. It deals with so many problems. I wish Ha Des was more useful. It’s easily got one of the strongest effects of any tribute monster but if your opponent has any backrow it’s scary. Backing it up by my body certainly helps if you have the LP
Phoenix and Dust Spirit can be a deadly combo in the right deck! Tried it and I may improve it if given a chance. It does come with its own risks, of course...
I wish Nephtys was harder to out. I've tried many builds and it's so easy to deal with the card once on board. It's a super brick and not worth it unless someone comes up with a wild new strategy
Y'know, I bet that Zaborg would even be good in a Reasoning Gate deck. He may be demoted to yet another beatstick, but nobody expects a level 5, and he has a pretty good atk stat.
There were a lot of good combinations and interesting effects in the classic game and the slower gameplay gave more opportunities to bring them out compared to the field spam and first turn kills of the current powercreeped game.
@rwberger6 i love both. The modern game is madness, but Im a spice lord and love finding the tech. The classic game has a back and forth that I really missed, though.
I think Lesser Fiend deserves a mention, it can be good as a side against Chaos decks. The Little Swordsman of Aile is a good anti-stall card, it's level 3 and can tribute Ojama's one by one.
People sleep on swift birdman joe and wind decks in general. If you're on the offensive but are worried about something like sakuretsu armor then by bringing him out he can sweep the backrow so you can hammer the opponent on that turn without worry.
I wish Dark Dust Spirit procked on special summon. Zombies wanna spam out ryo or vamp lord with turtle. Now assuming you’re running Rats, it can work. Either they pop the recruiter and tribute second rat, or you creature swap and bring him out. He’s too slow to work in turbo builds unless you’re packing call of the mummy and three books of life. We’d much rather just use tribe in that build since he’s a normal summon. I’d only run one of the guy, two if you’re willing to sub up Ryo entirely in a control variant.
Controversial opinion for Burn: I'm not a fan of Des Koala. While it has a lot of burn potency, you can't reuse the effect without Book and Tsukuyomi and the burn total isn't fixed. I prefer Stealth Bird's consistency; 1k LP every turn is nothing to sneeze at and its 1700 DEF is just as hard to crack.
Tribute hand of nephthys and a goat token to summon sacred pheonix from deck. Ez Not that its a good card. But i really love mystic swordsman lv 6. Its so fuckin tragic that it had to be apart of the lv mechanic. I remember seeing a dude at the card shop back in 05 using it with inferno hammer and granburg for some set control deck. Didnt get to ask for the decklist or see how the duel ended. But it was by far one of the most unique strats i saw back then.
Just a theory here. New Doria. Your Mystic Tomato get destroyed by battle. You search out New Doria. Lets say your opponent has BLS or Chaos Sorcerer they might END battle phase to banish your New Doria or they might attack into New Doria or with some other monster and you still get to pop.
nepthys is my favorite card and i've tried to make it work in goat for a long time. its a shame that the cards that out it do so very easily and are also widely played in the format
Sacred Phoenix is really not that great it got better after chaos got banned but in goat format, Chaos monsters and TER are heavily played so phoenix does not stand a chance if it would be unlimited nobody would play it. Good card but not in this meta. Banisher is just slow and kinda does nothing. The rest of the cards are great for sure.
