I don't even remember what was in Theatrical Cut of LoTR. I just accept the Extended versions as the true version of the films...which have been out for years btw.
that's because they are the true versions, i tried to watch Fellowship of the Ring when it was on TV not long back but couldn't get through it because of all the missing content
Even without this scene i never thought that Boromir was really a "bad guy" that it was just the influence of the Ring and he even redeemed himself when he saved the Hobbits from the Uruks and Apologies to Aragorn. And even Aragorn refused to take the Ring because even he didn´t think that he can stand up to it, and get not corupted.
It's like they needed filler. Bit of a rip-off. If you can't fill out the appropriate number with items you have found, then just alter the number of new items you have found. Bad taste.
In fairness to Boromir he was never a bad guy and that was clear in TFotR, he died trying to save those Hobbits and went down fighting to his last breath. Its widely known Men are weak to the Ring and the actual Prologue even tells you this, even Aragon shows temptation at one point. That scene in Two Towers in the Extended Edition just gives more backstory to Boromir and is not there to say "hey he's a good guy" because we already knew that from his final moments in the previous film, his death is still the saddest moment for me in the Trilogy and easily Bean's best death he's had.
I think it's bad when you know an actor for dying in almost every role. But yeah that scene is a touching one every time I watch it I always wish for it to end differently. Just like in GoT but Ned Stark never could keep his head on tight XD
I've got a good memory, but find it almost impossible to remember things from films I watched last week nevermind films from 16 years ago, mainly because I watch a lot of film and TV. What I can remember though is Ned Stark getting shot by Spider-Man just 2.3 miles away from me in (a former chapel turned) Indian restaurant (turned kindergarten) while he was eating his curry was a good death.
I never got the impression Boromir was a bad person from the film. I thought the film displayed his desperation to find *something* to free his people from the horrors of war and the threat of Sauron quite well. That was his temptation in regards to taking up the ring. In a film that missed the point of so many things in the source material, it was one of the things I thought it had gotten right. Boromir was a good man driven by terrible circumstance. Who wouldn't be tempted?
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that deleted scene is among a collection of others. I think they’re titled, ‘Procrastination’ or something? Actually, I’m pretty sure there’s a scene of you watching this exact video in that collection.

I never thought much of it that Obi Wan said to Luke his father was killed by Darth Vader because in my eyes it always was like that and it made even more sense to me that Anikin was dead to Obi Wan after what he did in the third movie...
It always made sense to me that Vader did kill Anakin, because what good was left in Anakin died when Vader took completely over and it wasn't until he knew about his son that a part of him began to reappear and even than, his only good act was not allowing the emperor to kill his son.
I guess the kid lit up Indiana‘s life. A simple hello would do, but the kid puts a 🔥 torch to him. Ooohh, the submarine thing. Never could wrap my head around that one.
The issue with the submarine in Raiders was not actually something that was needed. Technically at that time it was 1936, Germany was not at war. Submarines in World War II and that era were diesel powered, the only time they submerged was when they had to because they would run on batteries when underwater. Even during WWII German subs would attack at night and on the surface so they could use as little of the battery power as possible. So it was conceivable that the sub Indy was hanging onto never submerged during the whole trip because it would have run on the surface and since they were not at war yet (WWII didn't start in Europe until 1939) they would have had no reason to submerge.
How is it at all confusing that Boromir wants the ring to strengthen the position of his home, even without that scene... it's a perfectly believable and sympathetic motive, especially as the ring corrupts people through desire, and it's maybe the best character moment in Tolkien, period
That movie is just hard to understand no matter what. But I agree the Ultimate edition does fill in some blank spots.... Though I hate they killed off Jimmy Olson... Superman's best friend... Within 10mins
He was acted and directed as such up until his death scene. In every scene his dialogue and actions *intentionally* set up distrust and suspicion of him. Not necessarily as a stereotypical 'bad guy' but as the good guy who would most likely be corrupted.
I've always thought Obi Wan saying "Vader killed your Father" made perfect sense - merely referring to the fact that Annakin's evil side took over and completely snuffed out his good one.
I wasn't confused by Temple of Doom. I just figured Short Round held out the flame because it was the only thing he had to defend himself with hence his line I'm sorry Indy. The deleted scene buts a different spin on it but it's not really hard to figure out what happened without it. He instinctively defended himself saw what happened and put 2 and 2 together.
For Ferris Bueller, what he did was pretty cheap too. Cubs tickets were not that expensive even in the 90s. Plus middle of the week day games are cheaper still. Also depending on the day of the week, the Art Institute, is actually free (at least it was when the movie came out. All Chicago's museums have been cutting the free days out).
As a kid, I just assumed in Jurassic Park 2 that the T-Rex rocked the boat so intensely that everyone was tossed around like rag dolls. Doesn't make sense now that I think about it :D.
With Jurassic Park, you'd think that they'd have put explosive collars on the dangerous dinosaurs, especially the raptors. Maybe they could have even drugged them and implanted a charge along the spine or the like with a barely noticeable receiver box on the skin. After the first movie it never made sense that they wouldn't take more precautions with the things.
Anyone who read the books would know that Boromir wasn't a bad guy. He was an honourable man, and a hero to the people of Gondor. The Ring preyed on his desire to save his people, but his companions understood this. They clearly respected him, and mourned his death.
National Treasure: book of secrets apparently had a deleted scene that explained the whole "release the hummingbird" clue his mother say's to tell them she was in trouble

it was deleted from the theatrical release, thus it is a deleted scene. just because an extended or special edition is released doesnt change the fact the scene was cut from the original release we saw in theaters
Just so you know the Boromir scene was added into the Extended Editions so it's no longer a deleted scene, you should have said it was deleted from the theatrical version and then added back in later
Whatculture videos make way more sense when Ben was behind them. Alot of these in the list was well researched and make sense! So wish The Temple Of Doom scene was in the actual movie. Same goes for BTTF part 2, BvS, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. i'm incredibly surprised Spielberg even allowed that bloody plothole to exist in one of his movies!!!
I thought there had been a deleted scene in Independence Day that explained that all our modern computing was backwards designed from the tech captured from the aliens and was now at Area 51. Since our systems were designed with the same principles it leads to the possibility that a virus on our system could affect the alien systems with the right modifications. At least in theory. Still a stretch...but at least the internal logic is there in the context of this adventure movie.
Boromir's flaw was wanting glory and to protect Gondor. These help the ring gain easy influence over him. Aragorn and Faramir had no such feelings, and they both tried as much to keep delusions of faux glory that the ring would present away from their minds (at least in the book. LOTR:TT Faramir is given a neglect flaw to slow down the hobbits when Peter Jackson sped them up. A big mistake because it does nothing to help separate how different the brothers were. The cut scene added to this unneeded change to the book)
I always took it as Obi Wan lied to protect Luke from a truth he wasn't ready for, but would need to confront someday--Yoda sort of mentioned this on his death bed. Also, for Obi Wan Darth Vader was not Anakin, and DID kill the good man that Luke's father was.
Wasn't the 'burning Indy' scene explained otherwise with the fight between Short Round and that kid....prince.....slave.....whatever, who used the Indy voodoo doll? If I remember correctly, Short Round pushed him.....her.....whatever, into a torch, which ended up freeing the kid from Kali's influence.
Obi-wan's lies -- Actually, it was a clumsy retcon. See, George Lucas had no idea there would be sequels to the original. He had a trilogy all planned out, but realistically understood there was no way in hell he was going to get it funded. So he took plot points from across his story treatment and stuffed them into a single movie. Deleted scenes make it absolutely clear that Luke's father had been well-known to an older generation, and that he was most certainly NOT Darth Vader. But then the original film turned out to be an astonishing success and sequels were clearly called for. So he wrote out a story treatment for a new trilogy, adding a few twists that weren't there to start with. The identity of Darth Vader as Luke's father was one of them, and was one that was hardest to reconcile with the film actually made. The only way, as it turned out, was to either make Obi-wan a filthy liar or Yoda a little green son of a bitch. That "Darth" was at first supposed to be a _name_ and not a title is revealed by Obi-wan calling him "Darth" during their duel, as if it were a first name.
its been confirmed raptors didn't kill the crew. one major flaw with that statement that they were is....where are they? Its been established the t-rex woke up...smashed through the cargo door (it was broken as you can see in the movie) killed everyone. went back to cargo hold perhaps back to its baby...a dying crew manages to close the door with his last breath still holding the button. cargo door doesn't fully close since it was broken
I'd like to note that submarines are not always underwater like today. Plus, there would be no purpose for it to go under because there was no war yet, and no
Indiana Jones with the submarine was pretty redundant anyway. Submarines in that era would only submerge if attacked or going to attack themselves. Their speed was greatly reduced underwater so they wouldn't travel like that because it wasn't practical at all.
Stuart B The clues are all there. If you look at the film as a story of three heroes who have lost hope and become better versions of themselves in finding it again, the film makes perfect sense, and everything backs it up.
So a more accurate title for this video would be "8 More Deleted Scenes That Explain Confusing Movie Moments... and 2 That Were in the Last Video That We Rehashed Because We Wanted it to be a Top Ten Rather Than a Top Eight" A cumbersome title, I know, but it could have been avoided by not recycling content.
Heres one: In MR. Bean's Holiday, at one point he saves a woman laying on the highway trying to kill herself. About an hour later she, while on their adventures, introduces MR. Bean as "the man who saved my life!" and the viewer has no fucking idea what she's talking about. it was very confusing.
3:28 the world's destruction? a bit far fetched. We saw the same town in all of the trilogy, no one ever mentioned that Biff being super rich would ruin the world
I like Cranston but the role was for Lex Luthor Jr. Cranston would look kinda weird as a young Lex Jr. Eisenberg was really good I thought, I just didn't like his little ticks lol but when you look past that, he's good, the roof scene was excellent.
That deleted scene in Jurassic part would have just replaced a plot hole with another, if raptors got the crew instead of the trex where did the raptors go afterwards? Did they jump ship? Because that’d be highly unlikely
They got the BttF2 Biff paradox wrong. He disappears because he just went back in time and changed his entire future, this version of Old Biff will never have existed unless someone goes back and undoes what he just did, regardless of Trump Biff getting murdered. If Lorene had never killed Trump Biff, Old Biff still would have vanished is what I am saying.
I was hoping some deleted scene would explain Lex's weirdness throughout the rest of the film. By the time he's in that jail cell it just sort of fits in that he'd be yelling random crap.
Really? That doesn't explain why he continued the charade when it was just him and Superman on top of Lex Corp. It wasn't supposed to be an act. If you have to make up reasons for the movie you like to make sense then it's probably not a good film. I don't care if someone likes the movie or not, but just admit that from beginning to end they made some really crappy decisions when making it.
If you play the video game the Lord of the rings the third age. It's gives you movie scenes and gandalf explains All the stuff going on including that he tells borimer to get the ring. But he didn't and dies so that frodo and Sam can continue on. He finally understood that the ring would destroy everything and everyone and that the world would be in darkness if they didn't succeed. Anyone else play that game comment below
the back to the future one was wrong the new comic which is cannon that shows what happened that led to him being rich and powerful shows that he discovered that doc brown made a time machine but it was a fridge and only had a few hour time before sending you back to the present when biff finds out he tries to go to the future to get more information on the future only for doc to send him back to the past where he meets mad dog which he calls mad dog, mad dog he then shoots biff and when biff returns to the present he is already dead with him gone the residence of hill valley rebuilds the town back to normal
