ive always been fond of macaws for their beauty,particularly the blue and gold ones...they can make entertaining pets but unfortunately they tend to be moody and stubborn when it comes to talking. african greys on the other hand,while they may not be as big and beautiful,are the best choice purely because of how smart they are. as delightful as these parrots are,in my opinion neither one holds a candle to the joy of interacting with a Raven.
I have 7 different species of birds and most of my birds are rescues. There are so many that need homes. Adopt dont shop. Please do your research before adopting any bird. They are a lot of work,but the love and laughter you receive in return overshadows it. 😀🐦🐤
I have two rescue Caiques. Absolutely agree see if you can adopt an unwanted bird before going to a breeder. So many unwanted or mistreated birds out there looking for a home because the original owner didn't do their homework first and didn't have the commitment or knowledge to properly care for them.
A lot of areas have parrot shortages, so some people have to shop and pay a whole lot of money for a bird. Not every where has plenty of birds. But people can check out the FB rehoming pages and groups too. There's always a bird to rehome, but they do make great pets and I greatly enjoy my 7 bird flock
Exactly what I was thinking. Our Blue Front Amazon is beautiful! There are tons of wrong info on this video. 🤭 Why even make the video? First, I don't get the numbering of these birds...is it just at random and no real order or least to most beautiful? He should have said either way. The premise of this video is flawed and ridiculous because all parrots are beautiful! I can't think of one ugly species. They're all gorgeous in their own Individual way. Secondly, how can you pick only ten...how can you compare them to each other,? Isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder? This is about as useless as a beauty pageant!! 🙄 Some like blondes, others prefer brunettes. Who is to say which are the prettiest?
GENERAL ADVISORY FOR ANYONE WATCHING THIS VIDEO!!!: All birds are special in their own way. Anyone who calls any bird a "beginner bird" is misinformed. All birds are very social, very lovey, and need A LOT of attention. They do have their days where they are a bit more reclusive due to them being tired... To keep things short here, I'll sum it up. Short story is, if you want a bird of ANY KIND, do your research twice over, because every bird breed is different, and every bird is different from another bird of the same breed. DO NOT EVER IMPULSE BUY A BIRD JUST FOR ENTERTAINMENT! They are by NO MEANS a "toy" of any sorts. Just like getting a dog or cat, you're purchasing a LIVING CREATURE that is supposed to be a COMPANION, not entertainment.

Kills me how people buy birds and give up i have 2 budgies and a love bird but expeirence with other breeds annnd my budgies are thr most anmoying birds ever !! People think of birds in terms of Budgies, and don't realize that keeping a Macaw or Cockatoo is like adding a perpetual 2-year-old child to your family for the rest of your life. So sad...
@@catatonicbug7522 100% percent agreee !! And they have a super bad temperment when they are pissed off and peoople are often beyond shocked on how wild they can instantly turn after being owned for a while !!
@@neonlights3977 I wouldn't say they "go wild", so much as they have temper tantrums. Just like a 2 y/o child does when they are upset. They are amazingly intelligent (ever seen videos of toddlers scaling the fridge to obtain their favorite cookies?), stubborn, yet affectionate. They also never forget those who have wronged them, and can instantly sense fear/hesitation and take advantage at every opportunity. I have a "brother" B&G Macaw who is 36 y/o. Been in my family since I was 5, when he was still in pin-feathers. I shared my Cheerios with him as a kid.
Beautiful birds, shame the narrative was lacking in correct information. If you're thinking of getting a parrot please do proper research, they are a huge and life-long commitment.
@Lil’_Narrations_ it's not. I have an eclectus. the only reason they aren't living long is bc people feed them awful diets since they require a more specialized diet than other parrots. Eclectus could easily live longer than 30 years given the proper care. Other birds in their size group can live 50+ easy. Cockatoos have been known to live into the hundreds. Budgies can easily live 10+ years too but they're the most mistreated birds. My eclectus is a rescue, I got him when he was 13 so he is about 15 now. He likely will live around 30 years because even though I'm giving him all the care he needs, due to sub par diets and borderline malnutrition in his past it's shortened his life span.
Thank you for showing. The different types of parrots. Parakeets and cockatiels. All are beautiful birds. I used to raise cockatiels. They're very smart Birds. And can say anything that you teach them. Lost my last one few months back. still miss her.
We are obviously well south of you - the biggest hazard here in winter is a shower of crabapples dropped by Rosellas! We have planted many crabapples and our trees are full of Rosellas (Crimson and Eastern) all winter.

You missed out entirely on the two most beautiful of all. The Crimson Rosella looks amazing on the snow in Australia's snowy mountains - its cousin the Eastern Rosella is almost as beautiful.
My grandma had a African gray named Smokey that called my grandpa a "sorry dumb bastard" and a "stupid asshole" any time he would walk in the room. As the bird had learned this colorful language during the time grandpa was trying to quit his heavy drinking habit at the "request" of grandma. And thus the bird that HATED him and would bite him during feeding and cage cleanings learned a way to let him know it's hatred of him at range and grandma found this to be the funniest thing she had ever seen. And me and mom agreed us both finding this utterly hilarious as I the screeching child that most likely made the poor bird partially deaf at times was able to not only feed him but pet him and even hold him without a problem. So what does grandpa do? He returns fire and starts screaming back threats of "God damn you shut up before I get you stuffed!" and "shut your beak before I shoot it off!" but my favourite was when he was in a good mood so he would pull the "no YOUR a stupid bastard!" and Smokey was of course not going to let grandpa have the last word so another screech of "you stupid bastard!!!" was heard across the house as grandpa responded with the maturity of a five year old and starts the age old game of "...you stupid bastard!!!!...no YOUR a stupid bastard!" and he would scream back and forth at the bird for a solid half hour before Smokey screeched himself mute or grandpa tuned him out to watch TV and it was great 😂😂😂😂
all birds are beautiful in their own unique way. personally advice to all future bird buyers, dont worry about the looks. but about your own favorable personality

@@kiwilllt Hmmm, I watched the clip again, and I think you're right. I thought he was a Blue and Gold and the colouring was off in the video--some of the images in this vid seem shaded toward the yellow (my monitor might need adjustment, or my eyes are FUCKED LOL), but somehow, I missed the green along the back of the bird's head and spine. I mean, WTH, am I blind? Yeesh. Oh well. I was hoping the owner of the macaw would say what species (or if a hybrid, like you suggest) their lovely guy was. Thanks for letting me know. :-)
This guy's knowledge about parrots is very limited point a fact he showed two different types of lorikeets and call them rainbow lorikeets and I definitely saw black-capped lorikeet in there not to mention he classified parakeet and Indian ringnecks as the same subspecies

Your *pink coloured cockatoo" is a Galah. Hilarious birds, they fly over our home in huge flocks - they argue and bump into each other as they fly. The Australian word for fool is "Galah".
here is some fun facts that the video maker didnt know, all parrots have a curved beak and color specific plumage due to polymorphic genes.. they arnt like a individual fingerprint. conure: many diffrent sub pecies (means little macaw) parakeet: means a long tailed parrot, so a budgie and a conure and a macaw are all parakeets... means long tailed parrot. old world parrot: short tailed parots such as eclectus, african grey and love bird. boxy look to it. most birds dont show signs of sexual dimorphism such as most conures and african greys, you have to get DNA test.
No. Old world parrots are from Africa and Australia and Asia, the as opposed to "new ,world parrots, South American parrots. Amazon parrots also have short aware tails.

My Green Cheek Conure Maurice and my green Quaker parrot Marty McFly are the prettiest birds ever.Because I love them,they are gorgeous in my eyes.I love this video.Birds are beautiful no matter what species.
Great videos, but for future videos you need to correct the following mistake, when speaking about macaws and them being found mostly in south america you displayed USA flag and that is planly wrong
If you lived where there are large flocks of wild Sulphur Crested Coockatoos you might change your mind! Flocks of hundreds fly over our home and they are DEAFENING!
This video is a tad irresponsible... Cockatoos can live over 80 years and DO NOT make "favorable pets" they are extremly loud and demmand constant attention. All parrots have these qualities in varying degrees. Anyone considering a parrot/companion bird needs to do their homework first. Thousands of parrots are given up to shelters because people didnt know what they were getting into.
Even smaller parrots are very demanding. I have a Lovebird and a Green Cheek Conure. Yes, they're super fun and my Conure very affectionate but still my birds pretty much run my life. I devote, a minimum, of 6 hours a day to them... This limits my ability to travel, take vacations, have long work days ect. But I knew that going in and am willing to basically devote my life to these beautiful, exotic birds! Most people aren't ready for that.
So many errors in this videos, it made me kinda mad 😂. They literally named 10 subspecies of parrots rather than doing the actual specific species. Like saying conure instead of crimson bellied conure for example. Also saying curved beaks in macaws, LIKE WTF 😂😂, all parrots have curved beaks! Also cockatiels are in the family of cockatoo, but not a species of cockatoo if that makes any sense.
