I was alone working at a store. I was closing up and the door was locked. A guy was banging on the window screaming for me to open the door. There was a car accident and needed to use the phone. I said no I'll call the cops. He was pissed. I got on the phone, called the cops. He left. The cops came and said there was no car accident and the cop escorted me to my car. That was so freaky. I was a teenager at the time and glad I knew to question it.

There really are some people out there with serious phycological issues. Thank goodness for door cams.

What’s also sad about the woman being kidnapped is that a person’s automatic response is to let her in but nowadays we don’t know if it’s a set up. Just in case it is, you don’t let her in but still call the police but by that time it could be too late.

One time my cat woke me up and then proceeded to go to the windows hissing. Something she has never done. I listened and could hear people outside my doors walking from my front and back door. Finally a woman screamed please help me and my baby. Something seemed off so I called 9/11. When the police answered they said not to answer it was a trap. Apparently there was a group of people luring women to come out in the middle of the night to "help" a woman and her baby and it was really a set up for sexual assault. It was crazy because my partner had a flight that day so they had been watching and knew I was alone. I broke my lease and moved out 2 days later.

We had a lady with no shoes speaking to herself with a piece of paper. I was about to walk outside and go to work when it happened (around 4:30 AM). We called the police and she tried to get away from the police, but she was arrested. Thank God I carry everywhere I go, including to work. You never know when you will have an incident where you may need it.

Ladies, even gentlemen in some cases: don’t be embarrassed or afraid to SCREAM at the top of your lungs, shriek, cry out HELP, 911, whatever it takes if someone is coming after you. It saved my life years ago when I was out jogging about 10 pm in my condo complex and a young guy came towards me with a knife. I screamed so loud I know everyone within a half a mile heard me. He turned, ran back to his car, and drove away with his lights off as people came pouring out of their apartments and found me absolutely hysterical. They called the police, who weren’t able to help in any way, but at least I reported it. I can remember exactly what he looked like to this day.

Every time I watch a compilation of these ring videos, I always wonder what weird crap happened at front doors before ring was a thing.

I was very scared when the clown craze in 2016 was going on not just bc I have a fear of clowns but bc I lived in a rural area and my parents would leave me alone sometimes. I've heard stories of people hacking into peoples house cams or ring cams and speaking through them if theres an option to do so, just to mess with people. I could totally see that being the case with the video of the person saying please help. Cause the lady didn't see anyone anywhere but it sounded close.

The voice asking for help is really interesting for me. It's so quiet that it makes me think they had to be close by. But unless they were stuck in attic or some other crawlspace nearby, I'm leaning into it being paranormal. As for the rest... well this is why you should get a doorbell camera and if you have a bad feeling don't feel bad for not opening the door. Or be armed when doing so especially at night.

Always ALWAYS lock your door, even if it’s a Tuesday night and you live on a higher floor of an apartment complex in a “safe” area. Years ago in Germantown MD (before it went completely downhill), my boyfriend had JUST left for work in the early evening to his repair shop, and I ALWAYS locked the door of our apartment, which was on the upper floors of a nice building. Not 30 seconds after he left, the handle of the front door jiggled(!) like someone was just trying to walk in, and I went to the peephole. There was a guy standing with a clipboard who was looking around nervously, who then knocked. I said through the door “what the fuck do you want?” as I watched the guy look around. He said he was from the cable company and needed to check a connection. I told him our cable was fine, but I’m calling the company now. He took off. Found out there was a rapist who was using the ploy of a cable repairman to get into apartments. He had obviously been watching our apartment. Never came back after I said I was calling his company, especially since I made it known that I was staring at him out the peephole. After he took off, I made sure my gun was next to me the rest of the night.

Gosh the one with the woman is soul crushing. Of course it's worse for her, but I can't imagine being the homeowner, knowing you slept through that. I feel sorry for everyone involved except for the captor. I pray to God that I would wake up instantly, in that situation.

Keep a dog indoors with you overnight, even a small yapper, at least they'll alert you if something is about to go down. Dogs are amazingly intuitive 💙🐕

I live at an apartment complex in FL and 2 weeks ago I saw this woman through my RING camera knocking on my door. She left and came back like 5 times. I don’t know her. Of course I didn’t open the door. I live on a 2nd floor and I have cameras and alarm. If you can afford it, get cameras and an alarm regardless of which floor your apartment is and how “safe” that place is. Stay safe everyone. GOD bless you all.

We lived in the same quiet neighborhood over 40 years... Times change and even if you still feel safe in the same place it might be very wrong... I know WE WERE the target that day ( because only our family was "contacted"). Long story short my senior father opened the door wide to a complete stranger at 2 am at night( my father has never done it before).. . God loves us... My mother, my son ( only 16 at that time) and me woke up in a second... We all started talking aggressively and moving towards the front door.. The stranger disappeared fast, we didn't have a chance to see him... I just closed the door fast... I had a tough conversation with my dad that night... He said the guy asked to open the door as a woman was badly stabbed and in need for ambulance and police ....

My brother actually experienced something like this. On a week end, he was alone at home, downstairs doing his homework. And then he heard a noise in the backyard, and when he looked outside the window, it was a man who had jumped over. He saw the man enter the back kitchen which was thankfully separate from the house. My brother was going to call my Dad, when he saw the man with a screwdriver in his hands attempting to open the back door which was locked. He was clearly a thief. And he noticed my brother at that moment. But my brother was smart and screamed 'Dad!!' Like my father was at home. The thief ran away and he never came back. It was really scary when my brother told us what happened. And to think that we moved to a new house, where we are surrounded by trees

For the part of the video where someone was saying "please help me please" I'm pretty positive someone hacked into that ladies ring doorbell and was trolling her. Those things are notoriously easy to hack into and alot of people do to troll the house owners.

Years ago in my early 20s, I got followed and assaulted by a sex attacker at the bottom of my street around 2am, literally about 30 seconds from my house. I’m very petite and 4’11 but I screamed bloody murder for my life which thankfully scared the guy away. I ran down the street screaming for help/ for my mum and just out of fear the whole way home. When as I approached my house my mum was already outside coming towards me. She later told me my screaming was so loud it woke her up when I was half way down the street.. No one came to help or even opened their door. The next day the police done a door to door knock of every neighbour and they ALL said they heard nothing.. absolutely no chance that was true. Especially if it was loud enough to WAKE SOMEONE UP the other end of the very narrow street lined with houses each side. 🙄

You NEVER have to answer your door when someone approaches it. If they claim to be a cop, just call the cops yourself. They'll be able to confirm if any real officers had been sent to your address relatively quickly.

In South Africa we have high walls and manual or remote controlled gates, so whoever comes to your house has to call your cell, ring the gate alarm or yell from the distant gate, if someone knocks on your door you don't even have to investigate, just call the police because it means that person was trespassing, only you (the homeowner) can allow ppl in your yard. I can't imagine a total stranger knocking at my door, these people are too close for comfort.

So the man was wearing a dark jacket (with a hood) on a black background and the camera compressed the video since the color were similar and he had no face because infrared camera gets the temperature, since on that type of camera the temperature is shown as light and it's compressed (In fact the jacket doesn't emit heat). This kind of compression is called chroma subsampling.

I remember once i had similar situation, a guy came at my door knocking it, i was sitting on my PC which was next to the entrance door, since my house is designed that way that moment you enter through my door you enter in living room, anyway i opened the door and the guy asked me about some dentist guy that lives nearby, since i know pretty well all my neighbours i told him there is no dentist nearby and he apologized and went away, the guy looked really suspicious and somehow dirty like he is living in a slums. 10 min after that my best friend who is living house next to mine came all out of breath and asked me did i saw the guy (gave description of that suspicious guy), i said ''yeah he was like 10 min ago here at my doorstep'' and my friend said while he was in bathroom this guy started knocking on his door and when no one opened he pulled out screwdriver and start unscrewing door hinges, since my friends father is policeman he had a police baton in house which he took opened the door and start beating the guy but the suspicious guy managed run away, later we heard that there are thief's in our town that knocks on your door and if you answer they will pretend like they are looking for someone but if you don't answer that's where they will break in and loot all they can.
