My father served in special forces in Viet Nam, when we asked what my father did to receive his medals, Veteran Affairs told us that the records were still confidential. My Dad became a recluse when he returned and never told us anything about his experience there. After more than 15 years since his passing we still don't know.

India: I wasn't included here. I have 4 main special forces having domination. Para, NSG (on ground) also trained for battles in the air and water. Marcos Navy special force, also trained for air and ground battles. Garud, air special force, also trained for ground and water battles. All have been trained for hostage situations, chemical warfare, hand to hand or any battle. All have the ability to wipe out the enemy out of existence with advanced technology and weapons.

It's a team effort to have any elite group and they all deserve the upmost respect for the things that some people can't even imagine and it's a grueling and long term process but I guarantee you that there's a lot more than just the one's that we are just allowed to know about existing in every civilized country in the world. British SBS are the real number 1, they just don't want you to know it. Even SAS members state how savage SBS training is. They are mostly recruited from Royal Marine Commandoes (already a special force) with a success rate of only 10%.

I believe the uksf are the best (particularly the sbs and the sas) as they have been around since ww2, are the basis of (and literally train) other special forces around the world and delta force was created by a sas trained green beret and modelled after the sas.

My Father was an original special operations and with his unit of 4 went behind advancing Japanese forces in Burma 1941. Was a sole survivor -came out of the jungle with malaria and Black fever. Missing, presumed dead for 4 months. He was at the battles of Imphal and Kohima. Never talked about it. I got the whole story from an avuncular co operative of his in Special branch years later in 1963. My Father passed with a heart attack at age 69 in 1977. Extraordinary guy and amazing Dad.

probably not as good as I think i do. The true cream of the crop people are like a top secret asset of the government. incidentalist It's a powerful responsibility that requires incredible commitment. The money is great because the work is painful, incredibly demanding, and even more dangerous. Friends can be made as often as they are lost to the haze of the most brutal parts of war. Fear becomes incomprehensible after some time as one realizes that they are what is worth fearing more than anything else. The fears become less on survival and more on the reality of death in the position that is taken. I suppose if one is religious that helps a bit but it is recommended that to practice in the time that you would otherwise pray.
