Even Mark Hamill has dismissed the theory that Luke's injuries in Empire were to cover his real life injuries from a car crash. According to Hamill his injuries had healed before filming begun on Empire
True. But anyone who ridicules that theory (even though it isn't true) only has to see Hamill's shocking appearance in the Hoiiday Special to say "damn....".
ITS TRUE! I saw Star Wars in 1977 in Norfolk Virginia, and I remember seeing all the Tattooine scenes, from look at the moisture collector looking at the space battle to the Toche station scene with his friends and discussion with Biggs,... And for 30 years people said i was crazy ... thank god for the internet proving me right.
@@thegraydirewolf9325 There was a Star Wars picture book that came out soon after the film's release, and the book showed a photo of Luke talking to Biggs on Tatooine. Also, I want to say the radio series included those missing scenes. I wonder if the OP had that book and/or heard that radio play, then conflated it into a Mandela Effect with the movie. EDIT: hahaha never mind, they mentioned the book right after I typed this
It's true. The rocket firing feature on the Boba Fett never made it past the prototype phase. It was changed and the rocket fixed in the backpack, because of a child choking on a rocket fired from a Battlestar Galactica toy manufactured by Mattel.
@@davidioanhedges Agreed. It's unlikely any of the prototypes made it out of the factory to be sold. I do know of one prototype that got packaged. It was shown at the New York Toy Fair the year it was made.
I have a friend who has said that he saw Return of the Jedi in theaters and when the fleet turned away from the Death Star he remembers seeing explosions indicating some of the Rebel ships hit the shield.
I saw the movie in the theater in 1983 and I thought that I remembered that. I was surprised, years later, to see that it isn’t there and now I’m not sure when or if it was ever changed. I used to have a VHS copy of the original 3, pre special edition, movies but it has disappeared so I don’t know what it might have showed. Oh well…..
The Shoe of Endor appears to be more of a Loafer; you can see if to the top left of the viewport when Ackbar is watching the Executor "falling" towards the DSII
@8:00. There's a movie called Dogma. One of the deleted scenes that he cut after Cannes was in the theatrical version I saw. I thought I was nuts, but my cousin remembered it, too. It was our favorite joke in the movie. It wasn't until the damn special edition DVD came out 6 years later, or something that I saw the scene again in the deleted scenes. Best damn joke in the movie, the one that got the most laughs is what he cut.
I can confirm the boba Fett action figure was only a prototype, but the action figure i had had a separate molded missile but it was fixed in place and couldn't be removed
The Battlestar Galactica Mattel ship toys had red plastic missile that could pop out. Parents and the FTC complained sooo Kenner nixed the new Boba Fett missile shooter.
@@DavidLLambertmobileI believe that a young boy actually choked to death on one of those Battle Star Galactica missiles. This is the factor that has led to many changes in the industry for child safety including the rocket firing feature being removed from the original Kenner Boba Fett. I had several of those mail away figures and absolutely none of them had the ability to fire the rocket. They were all glued in place at the factory. In addition to that the backpack had been resculpted to remove the J slot that would have retained the rocket in the firing version. I can’t say I ever really missed it because Boba never fired the rocket I the movies. I do remember the 12” Kenner Boba Fett had a rocket that came out as a grappling hook and had a string attached. I don’t believe it had a firing mechanism though.
@@Mejust869 none of the rocket firing boba Fett’s were ever released to the public. The only ones that exist were prototypes. And yes, the way to get the Fett was to send in 5 proof of purchase tokens and maybe a couple bucks for prepaid shipping and then like 12 weeks later they sent out the figure. Eventually they released Boba Fett on a card that you could buy in the store. They did the proof of purchase gimmick several times. This was the way to get Bossk originally (if I remember correctly) and I also remember they did a weapons pack where you got like 5 guns (a Han Solo pistol, a stormtrooper blaster, a rebel blaster pistol, a snow trooper rifle and some other blaster too) as well as a Hoth rebel soldier backpack and a dagobah Luke back pack for yoda. These came out between ESB and ROTJ as I recall as all of the gear was related to ESB. I remember because I got a few of them from saving all of the POP’s I had accumulated. I think they may have released the Anakin force ghost that way also but my memory is a bit fuzzy and I could easily be wrong. Those were great times to be a kid but waiting for the things to come in the mail was excruciating, hahahah.
I've had facial reconstructive surgery twice, and frankly, I was better looking afterward. Hamill had plenty of time to recover after his accident. The scars were character development.
Mark hamil has said in the last couple of years, that he had the car accident prior to the January 1977 reshoots for a new hope, and they had a stand in far away do the reshoots. He released a movie after the accident before a new hope came out, they used cartilage from his ear to reshape his nose. How ever the part about tesb being written to accommodate it maybe a coincidence
How can anyone believe the wampa attack was made to explain Mark's nose when Luke moves his scarf to look through his binoculars. You get a clear look at his already changed nose. And then the wampa comes out saying, "I did not hit him. I did noooooot. Oh, hi Mark!"
He did have some of the backstory figured out. For instance, Vader getting horribly wounded in some sort of battle around a volcano was known before the three prequel movies showed up. But the whole thing? No. This is Star Wars, not Babylon 5.
Mace Windu was the first name he wrote in his Journal of the Whills. He had talked about episodes 1, 2 and 3, and even 7,8 and 9 during the original trilogy so those of us who studied the magazines and Topps cards were expecting these for a long, long time.
Probably old people, like me, who read the book Skywalking where it was outlined that he wanted 9 movies with some details. I’d have to locate the book to give specifics but I know it’s in there.
yes there is an interview with Hammil form 1977 just after Star Wars was released and Hamill said George would not stop talking about going back 20 years to explain everything.
Sometimes the "false" memory is correct. For decades I was ridiculed by my wrestling loving brother for claiming that "Gremlins II" had a Hulk Hogan cameo when I saw it in Saudi (during the Gulf War). It took the internet to prove my memory wasn't faulty.
Fun fact: a lot of fans like to claim that Darth Vader means Dark Father in another language (Dutch I think), but that's a very loose translation at best. Also, the name Darth Vader was present in the original script before Luke Skywalker was even the main character so there's no way George Lucas had planned any father related foreshadowing for this name.
I think it's more like Lucas had the broad strokes in his head but not the specifics when he started Star Wars. He outlined it then shot and fine tuned each bit as it came. From the way they described their work, I got the same impressions that J. Michael Straczynski and Robert Jordan did much the same.
My understanding is both Harrison Ford and Gary Kurtz wanted to kill off Han Solo in Empire. But Lucas said no because money. Harrison wanted out of Star Wars because career.
George never said he had it all mapped out. He had a story. Most people know that stories go through major changes. It was the first 3 movies that he had a rough idea of.
If it wasn’t true that he said Carrie, the scene would still be 100 the same. It 100 is not the same. Lucas was so pressed for time and under so much pressure to get it done, he didn’t have time to worry about.
I never heard anyone claim to have seen the Toshi station scene in a theatrical release of the film. HOWEVER, I remember seeing the exchange with Luke and Biggs on Yavin IV -- before the attack on the Death Star -- the first time I saw it in the theater. My memory could be faulty, however when I saw it in the Special Edition, I was suddenly reminded that I had seen it before.
It’s definitely an urban legend that Harrison Ford was yelling “kill me, kill me, kill me,” at George Lucas throughout the Empire shoot as it’s well documented that George Lucas was rarely there. Ah, hyperbole! The founder of so many urban myths.
But my cousin's best friend's girlfriend's brother had the rocket firing Boba Fett. So I KNOW they did indeed get sent out. I never saw it, but why would someone lie about such a thing? He was actually sent two by mistake. One he opened to play with, the other is still in the box. Hrs gotten it appraised for $3.5M, and is going to retire on that in a few years when the price is higher.
Luke grabbed the overhead bars in the rancor pit. It was in the book but didn't make the cut for the movie. The aliens stepped on his finger and hands making him let go, dropping back into the pit.
So calling Star Wars episode 4 was just hopeful marketing? I don't think movie prequels even existed as a concept did they? He must have had some ideas. And Lucas in an interview said he put off the first three stories until effects technology and money caught up to his story ideas.
During the original release of A New Hope, when Princess Leia first saw Vader, did she spit on him and the spittle sizzle against his still hot chest shield plate? Or is my old miind playing tricks?
There is this urban legend going around. It says that What Culture Star Wars is an up-to-date channel with the latest most accurate news about Star Wars. Not all urban legends are true...
I recall seeing TFA in theaters. The moment when he removes his helmet the theater erupted in laughter. A number of my friends have always called him Darth Napoleon Dynamite all along. Not even remotely threatening, just rather pathetic.
Sad, but she died a drug addict. I reckon that was a ‘coke nail’. She was doing a lot of ‘Hoth snow’ back then. She overdosed in 1985, and had her stomach pumped, I believe?
@@cyrusq5999 Harrison is to blame. After using her for sex he said sorry i'm going back to my wife. She loved him so much she turned to drugs to kill the pain. Harrison killed Carrie.
@@Me4-gc8qs Yes, I agree. She was in awe of him. She only had eyes for him. She was unlucky in love. Her last partner (father of Billie Lourd) dumped her for another man. It also didn't help that her parents got her on weed when she was young. And her mother forced her Hollywood celebrity lifestyle onto her (singing and dancing in her shows), rather than letting her choose her own path in life. She was doomed from the start.
I end all I say like THI,IS .. And That is just the way I ta,ALK! .. YOu better Li;IKE it.. Cause I will be doing if in evere video I do voice I,IN! .. 😁👍 ❤ Please stop that crap. I want to watch these.
I wouldn’t want to have dinner with Mark Hamill either. He’s actually a very unbearable person. He played Skywalker, but he is not Luke Skywalker. Like they say kids you never want to meet your heroes
The guy has a disability. Is this how you treat disabled? Scum, I'm disabled and have a speech impediment too. I'd love to see you insult me about it to my face. When done I won't be the only one with a disability. Get my drift? Want my address? I'll pay for your plane ticket to come insult me. Come one big man. Insult me to my face!
