I remember Rangers playing East Fife in a cup game and onecof their players was part of the wall facing an Albertz free kick , unfortunately for him it caught him square in his crown jewels and had to be carried off the park 😂
Great video as always, mate, some real football history there. When Alex MacDonald and Sandy Jardine left Rangers we signed them at Hearts and they were both superb for us too.
Same man, knew he was a good enough player to move for the kind of money he did later if we got a run in the centre. Looked a different level of player with the whole pitch in front of him.
Absolutely adored Gascoigne. Brilliant video again bud. Your work is superb. Looking forward to seeing Peter Huistra (childhood hero) on the wing vid hahaha. Keep it up mate 💙
DId some rough sums on this one today and there are some shocks. Still debating in my head what category to place number 10 type players though since we so often just whacked them out wide. Huistra's impressive 1 in 6 (ish) would actually only get him in at 15 in the early draft.
@@garethrobertson20 Don’t even think you were Gareth, it’s just a wildly competitive category. The Top 20 would all have made the Top 10 in the midfielders list. Actually can’t wait to get into this one properly, great mix of players and time periods. Had to talk myself out of just making it a Top 20.
Partick Thistle 1-2 Rangers, with Gascoigne scoring both of our goals ⚽ A few facts... I was at that game, aged 8, with my dad 💙 Someone took a p*$h on the stairs about three rows behind us and my dad was ready to burst him 😂 We saw ourselves on Sportscene that night as we celebrated one of the goals 🥳 It was already 2-1 at half-time, with Thistle scoring in to the net that was in front of the Rangers fans and I vividly remember telling my dad that I could barely see our goals at the other end 🧐 He assured me "that's orite; they're saving all the goals for this end", before drawing a blank in the second half; I was ragin'! 🤣
Doddie was my hero when I was kid, Paul Scholes is the closest I have seen to Alex McDonald box to box, Doddie had that wee bit better timing a killer pass
Been watching loads of 70s Rangers lately for a couple of different projects and the way Doddie played the game looks like he could play in any era. Think he'd have been my hero too.
