The black one appeared to have better fur condition as the tan coloured ones seemed to have tons of tick marks all over them, poor lions. Maybe ticks are not attracted to black fur the same.

Most people seem to focus on getting upset over wealthy or adventurous western hunters going out there and killing lions. The reality is, the vast majority of illegal hunting and poaching is committed by locals from those various African countries. I think most places don’t have the resources to fight against illegal poaching, they rely and on donations on non profit organizations.
Because of who photographed them i am sure. No officials or scientists have ever seen one. They think the pics may be faked. They cant prove if they are real or not.

As an Ethiopian I grew up with its face on literally every thing , army ,airforce , tea, biscuits, evin bottled water and coffee , people addicted to it

The black lion is clear photoshopped and the video is probably just a lion with really dark brown fur. If you look up the picture of the black lion laying down you can find the SAME picture of a regular colored lion. It’s clearly photoshopped

Glory Mosby it’s not hunters that cause a decrease in numbers, it’s poachers and loss of habitat. Trophy hunting follows extremely strict quotas, and lions killed in the hunt are often too old to even bear offspring anymore. Money from the hunt also goes towards conservation of lions. We need to focus our hate and disgust towards the silent killers that are poaching and habitat loss, as they will ultimately be the end of many beautiful species if hunters and other animal lovers do not win the fight.

Glory Mosby if they’re left alone though, that’s when these silent killers come in. If the larger population is protected by hunters so hunters can kill a very small number annually, this is when populations see their greatest and healthiest numbers. I just purchased a $2000 dollar plane ticket to Africa, I'm off to see the black lion in it's natural habitat, I will take selfies with the black lion and bring back video footage to show everybody, I can't wait, I leave for Africa in 3 days, I want to thank "The Finest " youtube channel for making this awesome!!! video, otherwise I would have never heard of this stupendous beast.
At least it’s nice to know that there are still a few Barbary lions around - albeit in captivity. Maybe this is one time when zoos actually did some good in helping to preserve a species.
I think that's the only reason why the Zoological Society should exist... Not for human's perverse sense of entertainment...but for preservation of an endangered species...
