Some great choices there matey.. likewise I enjoy the 78 Body Snatchers more than the 50s original.. I might have a look at my collection and do a VR response shortly 😎👍
Great video Roy, some great picks in there. There are a lot in your list that I have seen but I haven't seen the originals so should probably go and watch them.
Good topic, great T shirt. I like that Breathless does its own thing and is barely a remake, I do enjoy Godard’s film. I put my fingers in my ears for you talking about the remake of Pelham 123, likely your subconscious knows best which is why you don’t have it in your collection :) Fun discussion
Hi Roy, I’m liking the idea, of course “A fistful of dollars” had to be on the list 😎👍, “Breathless” is one I’ve not seen in years & one of the movies that made Richard Gere a heartthrob, i actually do prefer the remake of “The Taking of Pelham 123. A De Niro performance I always re-watch the remake of “Cape fear” a top 10 Denzel Washington movie for me “Man on fire” Some fine choices here, 80’s version of “The Blob” is a popular one for me & I consider far better than the original & some respectable ones even though not better than the originals The Texas chainsaw massacre & The Hills have eyes. Nice to see you talking movies on the channel 😎👍keep up the good work 👏
@eastwood4lifefan334 hello Carlos. I will hold my hands up and say both version of The Blob have passed me by and the only Texas Chainsaw Massacre film I've seen is the original. I guess there's far too many films to keep on top of everything. Thanks for watching 👍
Other great remakes could include The Fly (1986), Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), 3 Men and a Baby (1987) and The Birdcage (1996), with an honourable mention to Dracula (1958).
Great video topic there Roy 😎👍🏻 I really enjoy that Star Is Born, taking of Pelham, man on fire, cape fear, breathless (which I didn't realise was a remake) 😮 and Dredd, even though I've always like the Sly one 😅
@roybarratt5609 I don't think I did mate 😅 I did one similar with sequels I watch more than the originals 🤔 maybe it was that u were thinking of 🤷😅 Marcus gave me credit the other day for a video I haven't done yet too 🤷🏻😄 Mandela effect is a real thing 😅
I remember getting A Star is Born (2017) on Blu-Ray with its slipcover very cheaply at the old FOPP branch in Edinburgh which I’ve yet to see. Never got round to seeing it at the cinema. I also really enjoyed the two Tony Scott films you brought up. Personally, I thought that Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story really worked and Stephen Sondheim himself was impressed after having close contact with Spielberg during the making of the film. Sadly, he died before the premiere could take place which he had been looking forward to.
@IanThomson-md5yx hi Ian I do recommend giving A Star Is Born a whirl. It blew me away when I saw it and made me watch the other 3 versions. I'm still to see West Side Story or indeed the original. I do have to be in the right mindset for a musical.
Hi Roy, interesting video mate, just goes to show you have to judge each film on its own merits. Eastwood is referred to as Blondie and Joe in the trilogy (but they are nicknames) 🧐 ahh glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t like the original 1960 À bout de soufflé, it’s a god awful boring piece of claptrap (in my opinion) 😆 nice invisible version of Taking Of Pelham 123 😆 it’s a great movie. Dr Niro shines in Cape Fear 👌 Invasion Of The Body Snatchers frightened me to death as a child 😬 yeah Dredd was a great remake, I think Lena Headey is a stunner 🥰 I rewatched A Man On Fire a few weeks back, another good choice mate 👏 wow your cat really wanted that treat 🤣 take care mate👍😃👍
@kermitsghost hi Alan thanks very much 👍 yes that's right the undertaker calls Clint "Joe" and he is actually credited as Joe in the titles. Maybe it was his name? Yep Breathless 1960 took some getting through. Another highly praised film, the Italian Bicycle Thieves was the same for me. That cat is some boy 😆 In the last 4 days he's fetched me 3 mice and a sparrow. It's on the verge of being a genocide 😆 Cheers mate 👍 👌
Great video Roy, Just put Breathless on my list, not watched that one since the Eighties. I do prefer the original Taking of Pelham 123, John Travolta ruined the remake for me with his over acting. I have that Hitchcock set but i don't think i have see The man who knew too much, will get that sorted.
@bushmanblu426 hi Mark thanks. I like Travolta when he's ott so Pelham ticks boxes for me. Can't believe I don't have it. Yep you can't beat James Stewart so I'm sure you'll like that one.
