My main hope is two more communication option for right and left on the dpad, also better communications(like jump to me, charge special/use specials, push now, and many more)

Me too. Maybe a double tap on a button could work for a different message. Like one push of this way is just come here or let's move, and a double tap could mean come here. I still want a "no" button and a double tap could be retreat... Or nope I guess

I also really hope they make it so you can still say “this way” when you’ve been splatted. There’s so many times where I die and have to spam “ouch” to get someone from my team to come over to splat the person who splatted me because they might have a power clam or something.

You can see you gear in game! Just splat yourself by running into the rainmaker shield and bam you can see your gear mid match. Its that easy.

Where can I find a Rainmaker in Splat Zones, Tower Control, Clam Blitz, Turf War, Salmon Run and every other mode in the game? Do I have to BLJ my Mario 64 into a wall and clip through the floor to find the Rainmaker? Or do I have to find Waldo?

I just want two options: “Retreat” and “Stay alive!!!!!!!”. Seriously man, I’m tired of being the only one painting zones because my teammates in solo push up too much and end up getting splatted.

But they have a "Stay Alive" button dude! It's called "OUCH!" Use it to emphasize the danger of the situation! ...And for when a potential ambush is happening! ...And for when the opponent's claimed the objective! ...And for when 3/4ths of the team is splatted! ...And for when a teammate tried to get a pick and got picked themselves! ...And for when you want to let your team know you're dead! ...And for when you REALLY want to let your team know you're dead! ...And for when you NEED to let your team know you're dead again and you probably got carried into the wrong rank! See? :D

I feel like calling the button “Ouch!” was also the worst thing they could’ve done, and it’s should’ve been named “Watch Out!” or “Enemy Nearby!” or something. It’s the same problem as “C’mon” in Splatoon 1, where people used it as a complaining button instead of it’s actual purpose. I’ve had teammates who never use “Ouch!” unless the whole team is splatted.

I need a communication button for something along the lines of “Go to our\their goal” or “Cover me!” It could be so useful in modes like clam blitz and rainmaker those modes practically rely on communication and teamwork. Not to mention the option “Help!” In salmon run would be useful in literally every mode.

Why not Squid jump or more mini games? Like press minus to either quit out of the lobby (without having to exit the software) or select one of a few mini games to play?

0:25 - I’ll be brutally honest here, this seems like an awful idea. Changing your kit and gear in the middle of a game could possible completely alter the play style and trajectory of the game, especially if a kit has a really broken or good special and sub. It’s way too chaotic to change gear during a match and it’ll be abused to troll and win games. Imagine a player able to suddenly bring Ultra Stamp or Inkjet when they previously didn’t have it, or poke with sub saver they didn’t have before. It’d be way too OP and chaotic and people would constantly be going back to spawn, with no stability to a match. I get that weapon comp needs to be better, but not to this extent. No. Just no.

If they took his gear switching idea someone could run a loadout with opening gambit at the beginning before switching to LDE and it would be a nightmare. Plus, I think it's more complicated that Splatoon needs to be.

I agree; however, I like the idea of every kit having a passive and aggressive special. Like a kit having a point sensor and splat bomb etc.

Fair points, its a concept I personally like but putting it in properly would be a huge challenge for sure, something I likely should have mentioned was switching kits would reset any special progress you have (which works the same way in OW) gear is the main reason I think it falls apart.

I can agree that changing gear mid-match may be too extreme as it's too much information to both hide from other players OR relay to them in an efficient manner. But I think you're being a bit too hard on the concept of at least changing weapon kits. If your concern is a player "suddenly" pulling out a special they previous didn't have, then the answer is to simply emphasize on the HUD a player switched their kid. Apply some graphical effect and/or SFX to draw the player's attention so they won't be surprised (unless they just fail to pay attention of course). And of course a special meter cost is absolutely necessary. I've brought up the idea of kit switching before (albeit just between two sub weapons, not the whole kit), and in my idea the player MUST pay 75% special points to make the switch (not just 75% of their currently accumulated meter). That way they just can't switch all willy-nilly (otherwise it really would bring chaos and instability). It's a time penalty (returning to spawn) and a significant meter penalty, both vital to matches. And let's be real here; can we _really_ expect Nintendo to do a better job with comp match-ups? I think giving some of the power to the players is a viable solution. Finding yourself with a bad comp or facing an OP comp and being able to make adjustments would be a godsend.

0:25 I think that you should be able to change weapons and gear BEFORE a battle, kind of like a pb, so you get to see your weapons and stuff with your team and you can’t see the enemies.

On the body blocking note: I think they ought to either remove it as you suggested, ooor allow it to "heal" your teammate that is being hit, maybe for like 10-20% of the damage your weapon would do. After all enemy damage shows up as enemy ink on the models, so wouldn't hitting them with your own ink help them recover, just a little bit?

The problem would be that stuff like Aerospray or Splat. Jr. could spam heals and make a sniper practically invincible.

2:21: Mario Maker 2 has it to where you can select 9 options to use for communication. If a game that doesn’t rely on co-operation at all can have it, a game that does rely on co-operation can have it. 1:14 It’s not that hard to time from a perspective of the roller class being your most used one, but I honestly think all the rollers need more consistent damage. There’s been plenty of times where my horizontal doesn’t kill at point blank. 4:45 Yes plz omg there’s way too many times where a good map is on league but then it just gets destroyed by blackbelly or walleye. 6:28 Yes plz pro never paints it’s feet when it’s supposed to which is why I don’t play it anymore

@@niia4754 Because a lot of people don’t like it, and even Nintendo has given up on incorporating it into the competitive scene. It’s a good concept for a game mode, but it was implemented poorly, mainly because of the lack of communication in the game.

The "Ouch!" signal seriously needs to be replaced with something like "Enemy here!" It would not only send a message that everyone could understand and make use of, it would also likely replace the current sound effects of the "Ouch!" signal. Those sound effects are so obnoxious that I legit want to scream when someone repeatedly keeps saying "Ouch!"

@@Zehmaskedman to be fair, that’s largely the fault of Nintendo’s servers, they’re quite appalling compared to most online games. Anyway, simply streaming footage from a friend should affect the match, what causes the lag is when the spectator starts to send data back… which wouldn’t happen if they’re simply watching a stream of the match. Also Custom Games run fine with all spectators in anyway, so I don’t think it’s that big of a problem.

@@NunnyNugget The thing is, past matchmaking, there's no server involved, it's all peer to peer (all consoles are linked to each other and each take some responsibility in handling gameplay stuff) which means it's reliant on the players connections to transmit data around (20$ a year for this lol). You'd be right that if the battles were handled by an actual server instead of the consoles then the impact of spectators over the match could potentially be minimal, but as it stands now it'd mean that each player would have to upload data to more people, and some players have really crappy internet. Also private battles have 2 spectators max

My friend and I ALWAYS say we want to be able to shoot through our teamates cuz ugh it annoys me. My friend also thought shooting at your teamates should be able to heal them quicker? What're your thoughts on that? Also yes, my friend and I play a fun mini game where we constantly use our last used weapon and gear, and I keep forgetting what gear I have on so I have to ask my friend to check map, I really wanna see what I have on.

I thought it'd be cool if inking your teammates would fill their ink tank a bit, about 1/4 of the ink you used up to hit them, ink savers not taken into account. I like the healing idea, too.

if you can heal your teammates by shooting at them, I could just see people constantly shoot at them so they won't be splatted. I think this is a cool idea, Nintendo just needs to be careful about how strong it is

I feel hat for the d-pad you should have many options that you can customize for your play style. You would have a list of things to say and you add them to the d-pad and switch them with others

I love all of these ideas. Especially more d-pad options. It would really help to fix the problems the game was gifted initially as a team-oriented game without proper communication, without having to work through the trouble of making a voice chat that won't turn toxic. Maybe without the competitive language since not many people know what these terms mean, but it would be amazing. As for the idea of switching weapons mid-game, though, I'm not exactly a fan. It sounds great on paper and would be a lot of fun. But it would cause a lot of problems in practice. For example, if you could switch the weapons fast enough, you may be able to take advantage of multiple weapons kits and use them together. Imagine clapples with toxic mist, or foil squeezer that can pop out a wall whenever it wants. How do mines react when you switch? Because if they stick, you have Kluna that can abuse mines. It's basically like having one weapon with 2 or 3 separate kits. It will absolutely break competitive if there isn't a significant delay when you switch to force people to use it wisely. This sounds like a fun party mode, though. In all honesty I just want to be able to change my weapon based off the specific map we're playing on for each game.

I like your idea for more communication, I've always thought one of the extra D-Pad buttons could be something for every mode, maybe "Retreat!", and then the other could be mode specific. For example, "Grab the Rainmaker!" "Hop on the Tower!" "Rush the zone(s)!" and "Pick up the Power Clam!"

Splatoon 2 is a well made game, but all your ideas could make Splatoon 3 so much better! I would like to see a new playable species added to the game, just Inklings and Octoling are getting a bit boring I would also like to see another section in the lobby (like turf war, ranked battle and league battle,) and that would be "Fun Minigames." Every 2 hours or so it will switch minigames and maps, and I was thinking modes like "Balloon Battle" (similar to battle dojo in Splatoon 1), "8ball", "Battle Royale?", and other modes that should be added into the lobby but don't necessarily fit into ranked And I loved chara's idea of each weapon kit having lethal sub and a utility sub, the lethal is used for general situations, the utility is used for specific situations

We need "To me!" Instead of "This way!" Way more versatile, while keeping all of the functionality of "This way" For the other two I think at least one of them needs to be a "retreat" or "fall back" or something like that. As for the last one, I think it should be mode specific, Clam Blitz could be "Pass", Rainmaker could be "Go", Tower could be "Get on", Zones, well idk but you get the idea. I'm sure some of these could be way better, but this is all 2am me could think of

Heres how I’d like to see Solo-Q reworked in terms of matchmaking. Basically, have random players join in a group of 4 like during Splatfests. You can also pair up with your friends ahead of time and choose your weapons, but like Salmon run you can recruit random players to fill in any gaps to make a 4 person team. But instead of being locked to whatever weapons they joined the lobby with, players can choose different weapons and gear before the match starts. I’d also like to see a feature where you can see your teammates weapons in the top right corner and how they change in real time. To avoid the matchmaking taking too long, there is a timer present. The exact length of this timer doesn’t really matter to me cause it can be tweaks and changed by Nintendo anyway. Once the timer is up, it will automatically start the “finding a lobby” process and make players choose whatever they have selected to play, like in Turf War when choosing to continue in a game. While this does add time initially onto matchmaking, this gear selection is already present in turf war to an extent, with the match not starting with 8 people in a lobby if someone is selecting their gear.

Rotations going away would flicking save this game (plus goodbye solo clam blitz :D) on the other hand changing kits midgame I'd say hell no (it won't happen anyway). Seeing your gear is very useful indeed. Also agree with the mashing weapons being a nightmare to play with (sigh I wish I could play squeezer :()

I would love to see if Nintendo could get “bodyblocking “ removed, but if it was kept in… a ink healer kind of thing? Maybe not even with your main weapon, but imagine inkstorm being able to not only damage people, but can heal your teamates?

I think a good Idea is to be able to change your weapon mid match. So you can choose a “main and secondary” main weapon. So while your playing you can press a button and you will change your weapon. And for blasters (Not clash) I would like it if you where able to hold the ZR button to charge the blaster so it gets a bit more range, have your blaster blast explosion to be a bit bigger and do a bit more damage.

Definitely agree on the gear display. Add to that how Splatoon 1 highlighted conditional abilities when they activated. Really don't know why they removed it. Sometimes one accidentally has the wrong ability, but also sometimes one just forgets if they're running Stealth Jump or some other ability.

Only thing I want is for the game to be playable with friends in a casual setting. Dear Nintendo, just because I’m playing splatoon online with a friend doesn’t mean we are an esports team, let me play turf war with my friends.

I think that a day/night cycle would help with immersion, the splatfest map variants are useless because we're not getting any splatfests, they could set splatsville's time zone on it's real life location to make the splatoon world feel more real

map rotations exist so you can pick the best weapon and gear for the maps available, and also ensure every map gets played. If they just allowed you to create gear loadouts and select them in the 10 seconds of pre game that would be problem solved, and players shouldn't be forced to play maps they don't want to anyway.

Honestly the main thing I care about is a way to play ranked with friends. It should still be separate from solo queue, but I want some kind of ranking system other than just a power level that disappears after 2 hours. I personally have a lot more fun with the game when there are actual stakes (Splat 1 squad battles were so fun) Also please give us a party/ room system for turf war, it’s ridiculous that we still have to just hope we get lucky and make it into a room/ get on the correct team

If we got rid of rotations, a lot of modes would go really underplayed, and it would split the amount of people you could connect with drastically. However, I think I have a pretty good solution: Have all modes available 24/7, BUT, rotate a boost (somewhere between 10-40 percent) in resources (I.E., G, Exp, or Rank Progress) to one mode, that way all modes are available, but at least 1 or 2 modes will always be active enough for you to find games.

for the vertical flick point, they could map it to the L button as that button doesn't have any use outside of clam blitz and even then you can still press a to throw clams so pressing L for a vertical flick could still work

I agree so much with Inkbrush and Squeezer, they're really fun but disability makes my hand coordination pretty crappy. Accessibility options would be so nice.

This is honestly one of your best idea videos yet and needs more attention. 1)Communications options are straight up inexcusable. Pure laziness. 2) I hate that ink brush and squeezer need to be mashed on controllers that are notoriously not durable. 3)blasters and rollers indeed need buff 4) your idea for rotations is IMMACULATE 5) shooter RNG would work well if they added either a consistent center shooting line, or a revamped version of .96 gal where it resets after stopping painting. 6) I personally think every weapon needs good feet painting (especially blasters and some others) and also higher base ink resistance. All the other points you made were great as well. Seriously good job. I don’t think gear swapping would work great in Splatoon, instead they could introduce a round based format which I think fits the game nicely! Sort of how finals in tourneys are played. In such a quick turning game and with so many maps and weapon strengths and modes it makes sense. My personal biggest hopes are for creating classes to avoid their absolute shit ability at picking kits, one offensive and one utility sub on ever class, higher ink res and walking (make it run) speed to increase mobility options, and abilities that are influential to a good extent and help your kit without ruining it. A good example is Splat2 stealth jump, perfectly balanced. Ninja squid shouldn’t debuff so much, thermal ink is trash as is (maybe reveal to team too idk) etc etc.

Something I really want is an option to change motion smoothing/acceleration. I went and played BfN (the PvZ shooter they ported, putting Frostbite on Switch or something) for a while and used 0 motion smoothing, when I tried playing Splatoon again after a while the difference was very apparent. If you dunno what I mean by motion smoothing, I think what it does specifically is increase the rate at which your camera moves the longer you move it fast? Or it's accelerating the camera speed to the speed you're moving it, instead of immediately being at that speed? To test this, you can shake the controller back and forth. With no smoothing, this would shake the camera around quite violently. But in Splatoon, it seems to hardly turn at all on max sensitivity for me with the same motions. This is similar to how on PC people want to disable the mouse acceleration for shooter games, as distances are less consistent otherwise. Even if the game actually doesn't have smoothing (who knows I could be wrong), the option itself should exist.

If they wanted to limit the command responses to just four in solo matches, I could see something like 'Advance' and 'Retreat' working well, like using 'Advance' alongside 'This Way' to tell your teammates where to focus their big push for the objective. Or using 'Retreat' and 'This Way' to signal your team to head back to spawn to regroup. I know the idea of having a wheel of sorts has been suggested but I feel pressing a button and having to pick from several options in a fast paced game like Splatoon wouldn't work. It would also translate well enough into Salmon Run. When I get splatted, I'd love the option to say something like 'Over here' or 'Watch out' as the 'splat cam' lets me see what the enemy is doing for a few seconds and I might see they're taking aim at a teammate. Saying 'Ouch' after being splatted briefly indicates your last location and I'd want a warning command to do the same thing, that way if I see a teammate saying 'Watch out' next to be, I know to be alert and that it wasn't just them getting splatted by Ink Missiles. I don't mind stage rotations, often I'll find myself getting stuck in the 'one more game' mentality and the stage rotation disrupts that and makes me put down the game and function as an adult for a while, haha! But in all seriousness, I wouldn't mind three or four stages in rotation instead of just two but if not, then I would like to be able to pick which map in that rotation to play on when in the Lobby. It's annoying when I see a stage I like but the game doesn't let me play on that stage, especially when I want to use a weapon+gear setup that's ideal for one stage but I keep getting the stage my gear isn't suited for, so I switch it up and THEN get the map my original weapon/gear was picked for. (And I know the logical thing is to pick a weapon/gear that's good for both stages but sometimes you just wanna have fun with a specific combo, you know?)

Splatoon gun game would be very fun. For those of you who don’t know it’s a game where you have to get a kill with a weapon then you move on to the next one. With splatoon it would be one weapon for each of the major weapon classes. Maybe they could implement this as another casual mode.

For another change for the roller is the option to toggle pressing b to jump or releasing b to jump. This could allow rollers to do grounded vertical flicks

For the rotation thing, maybe have 2 modes up at once and have them switch to the other 2 after the 2 hour window, then when the day rolls over it switches which ones are paired up together. And i agree with the map voting, but maybe have it be 3 maps, and if it's a tie it chooses the map that wasn't voted for as much (To stop a team from being able to get their favorite map via coin toss) just a thought from someone new to playing competitive splatoon

YOOOOOO I'VE BEEN WANTING A CHANGE TO THE ROLLER'S FLICK INPUTS FOR A WHILE NOW! However my idea was different! I think splatoon 3 should have an "alt-fire" button option for specific weapons. For example, Roller: Fire is H-flick and alt-fire is V-flick (they could now remove V-flick being automatic when falling as a QOL change) Brush: Fire is swings (**which would allow them to be fully automatic as having to press the button as fast as possible for the best results is too difficult for people who don't have that ability,**) alt-fire is run Brella: fire is shoot/shield, alt-fire is shield launch ect. This would be a HUGE QOL change for a lot of weapons, especially squeezer and ink brush. I think they could make R alt-fire and L sub weapon.

My controller is third party and it allows for custom turbo buttons, so I main Inkbrush since I can use it without mashing by myself. It’s convenient, though it feels like I’m cheating a little.

2:45 maybe a chat system like rocket league, 4 main menus of chat options and then 4 sub menu options all put together on the pad, it could help with communication a lot. pressing left dpad would be the directions menu, thus opening it to 4 new chat options (this way!, retreat!, push objective! follow me!) this might be hard to understand but it makes sense in theory to me at least, keep up the content chara !

A thing I hope for multiplayer is a bit more of an aesthetic thing. Give us the ability to have the stats of a different piece of clothing while wearing a different piece of clothing. Think Miitopia's "Keep Stats Only" for armor. Basically you have the looks of a piece of clothing, while having the stats of a different piece of clothing. If there needs to be a balance to this, then have it at the start of the match, they will show the four teammates, but then at the bottom screen, they show their main abilities.

I feel like an easy workaround for the communication wheel problem would be a customizable one, one for being alive and one for being dead. It's that easy. Bonus points if you can save wheel settings under presets.

I would love to see casual ranked lobbies. I love playing tower control, but it'd be nice to be able to play the mode more casually, without having to worry about losing your rank. It'd also be a way to test out certain weapons on certain modes, again without having to potentially lose your rank

idea: ranked ? which is on a rotation and ranked ! which is you vote on which stage/mode you wanna play and then you get put in a lobby with people of similar preference (like preferred rules in ssbu quickplay)

In terms of a "combat mode" for weapons like aerospray they could buff it by making shots shoot more straight by jumping. If they do create create better mpu weapons healthy for the meta aerospray jumping could be expanded on.

As a brush main, I agree with what you say. It's not easy to learn how to play a brush, due to most people being used to holding ZR. Brushes are so fun to play, but it takes a while to become actually good at it.

My main hope is to have a team weapon select screen (like the one in PB’s) before every ranked game, at least for whatever the highest rank is in the next game. Having decent comps would make the solo queue experience better

I feel like giving the spray shooters a "combat mode" would kind of make Splash and Zap obsolete. Splash is literally and accurate Jr with a bit less paint, and Zap is the same deal but with more range but less accuracy.

The combat mode would be easily worse then a splash/zap, so its still a big trade off, its not going to win one on one fights, for my ex I used splash slowed down by around 20-25%. Squeezer painting mode is ok but my no means challenges actual painters, its the same concept here.

How would you feel if being able to shoot through your teammates was a primary skill on some equipment? Perhaps with the addition of replenishing a slight amount of their ink if that's not enough.

What I do with squeezer is I hold down the squid button and go in and out of my ink so I can still shoot that long range 3 hit and I have a lot of mobility. Plus not having to spam. It's like sub-strafing but with a squeezer.

it's still crazy how Nintendo, a literal behemoth in the gaming industry has trouble having an online system (infrastructure and matching system; making a turf lobby, like salmon run) that is on par with Halo 2 on the original XBox and won't incorporate the map system of Halo 3/Reach (you choose the gametype, here's three maps to vote for). I came to the switch (from PC) because a number of friends had it and seemed to be enjoying it and I'm honestly regretting the purchase and don't see myself getting Splat3 nor renewing my online order until I actually know what the game is like.

It's not necessary, but they could add actual taunts by pressing the - button and then any direction on the d-pad. The taunt for each direction can be customized on the equip screen.

I agree with Kani REKT-exe here except for the bad idea part. The problem I kind of have with it is it doesnt have a delay for the special and switching kits, i think you should have a limit of switching to weapons and cannot do a special until 30 seconds later. And I completely agree with you on most parts other than the rotation part. I don't have a problem with it, but its just why get rid of it completely? Shouldn't people be able to choose whether they allow rotations or vote for a map in the options? Because a LOT of people will be mad if you get rid of the rotations. Other than that I also have an idea, Shouldnt there be rotations every at most 5 hours? Because a lot of people get annoyed because there isnt much variety unless the weapons are listed "?, ?, ?, ?,". Well thats all for this comment, I hope you have a good day and stay safe ProChara!

while i do like the concept of have no mode rotation's it seems that if there were no map rotations, plays would only causally play their fav' mode and not get rounded skill in all the maps for instance somebody that would play rainmaker alot would be less good at clam blitz because they never play it.

i like rocket league's system of communication. Pressing one dpad button lets you choose from a set of 4 communication options also mapped to the dpad. so theres 16 options, all of which can be accessed quickly with 2 button presses. in splatoon maybe you could categorise, up is for objective, like "get on tower!" "enemy is on tower!" etc, left would be offense, right for defense, and down for cheers. i probably didnt explain this well and it makes no sense b

I hope they get rid of the ouch button, hopefully in favor of more specific stuff like “there’s an enemy here,” etc like you said. I’ve just met one too many people who like to spam it as a salt button (to be fair, I’ve been guilty of this before too), and it’s kind of annoying. Especially because in my experience, salt in solo-q can be kind of contagious..? One teammate starts spamming ouch and the next thing you know most of the lobby is doing it too 🥲 Kind of like road rage. Communication is great, but the game shouldn’t have something that’s *just* a complaint button imo.

As Clam Blitz won't be coming back in Splatoon 3, the A and L buttons would be without function (they now serve to throw clams). So the L button could be used to alternate between the two modes of communication, changing what is said in the D-pad. The A button could be used to alternate between weapon kits. Another idea is for this change of kits to only happen right after you died as I think being able to change at all times could be a bit too broken. Like you can only use each kit once and when you die it resets. What do you think

I think you should be able to swap kits between the SAME exact type of weapon. Example, say you wanted the kit of a sorella brella, but the weapon look (or skin) of a splat brella.

Unfortunately I just hate the idea of no rotations. I get if you’re Chara and you’re playing a ton of time in the day, you also want to level up and practice all modes, but some people don’t. If all modes were available, you go into clam blitz lobby and nobody turns up, go into a sz lobby and lobbies are filled in less than 10 seconds. Rotations force people to play all modes. I like the idea of multiple maps, but there would have to be a system of if one map was chosen five times in a row it becomes unavailable

I totally agree with you. I'd rather wait until a certain mode is over than not be able to play a mode because the lobby is always full. The idea of Choosing mentioned here would be chaotic.

I dont think that would be an issue, splatoon has a rather active playerbase, and for me its the opposite. I only practice the game a 1-3 hours each day (college/work/editing) so most of the time rotations keep me from playing the game, and I can bet for many college students or adults its the same thing

Honestly, as much as I don't think the other ideas to be half bad, the most glaring problem is the damn communication d-pad: it's so sad and bare-bones... they'd be mad if they didn't add some other option

My only concern with adding extra d-pad comms is the risk of different commands being spammed throughout a match, that could be a mess, but even with that it has to happen I think to increase quality of matches. Maybe you can have the option of muting specific teammates lol. It's just weird that the d-pad has 2 blank commands just sitting there still not being used. 1. more d-pad commands. 2. more maps in rotation. 3. better online infrastructure. 4. improve TC somehow.

id like to be able to cancel shots and flicks theres times when i use h3 or a roller (or smth else) and the startin and end animation/delay would be so slow that itd fuck me up and i lose the 1v1 it prevents me from going aggro or just playing in the way i feel is best for me i dont need it but i think a loooot of players would love this (dynamos especially)

How about for weapon swapping you can only switch when respawning or when at your spawn platform. This may make which kit you CHoose more substantial since you can only do it at spawn

Half of these suggestions were implemented in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and well. If a $40 game from a studio famous for its match threes and tower defense games can output a game with that level of polish Nintendo has no excuse. Play PvZ: BfN btw it's a great game

I always thought being able to switch weopons mid match would be actually necessary given how im always put in triple charger comps when i decide to ever go charger in solo.... There probably IS an unforeseen consequence for being able to switch out to any weapons idk maybe you can only call Sheldon once per match for a weapons change or something. (Ultra-spitballing here but maybe the new weapons can fly in from the little crates like in storymode/Salmon run and you gotta shoot it down to collect it. giving the possibility to let other teamates collect it incase they used their "sheldon phone" already lol)

I wish you can see where your teammates are when you super jump to them (not on the map, like spectate them). So many times I’ve been hiding in my ink and then someone super jumps to me and reveals my spot

If Splatoon 3 takes one thing away from this video it better be communicating on the d pad. It would help so much, and as a person who plays solo cue (because none of my friends have Splatoon yet) it would be such an upgrade from the last two games. Although I want more communication, I also would like to see a horizontal jump flick for rollers, and I hate mostly all rng in Splatoon. I’m hyped for Splat 3 and the changes it could/ will bring. But also very disappointed that only “this way” and “Booyah”are in the bottom left of the two gameplay trailers….

If Splatoon 3 doesn’t have more communication then they better at-least do somthing with the rest of the d-pad, because it’s honestly a waste of space and could be used for so much more. Like: switching weapons, sub weapons, or even squid rolling maybe 🤷‍♂️, etc.

1:32 I never found flicking and then jumping difficult to me though. I feel like having it so you need to hold down B to do a vertical flick might make people do that on accident more often. But then again it’s all a matter of just getting used to it.

About the map rotation, I think changing it to be like Mario kart isn’t as great as you think. For starters, the voting part. There is bound to be a least favorite map amongst the players. Kinda stoping people who do like it, play it. I think it’ll be better if it’s 3 maps every hour. (Still keeping the rotation, but more variety)

Its not supposed to be exactly like Mario Karts, just in the sense that its a random selection of maps that you vote on to play. MK has way more maps, where Splat would be 5 randomly picked maps out of like 20-25, and the random set of 5 would change, it wouldn't make things that repetitive unless the maps are just way worse in which it tells Nintendo which to fix. Rotations are something that hurts the game esp rep wise, adding another map would feel the same as rotations going from 4-> 2 hours in splat 2 imo, like its nice but it doesn't realy fix the problem that rotations suck anyway.

(Sorry for grammar) 1- I don't see this coming, splatoon is a game where you can't and will never be able to change weapon mid-game, every match last max 5 mins (except overtime) and you have to chose wisely your weapon (and special) before the match starts. Splatoon is also a very fast game, you sneeze you lose, no time for changing weapon 2- Bruh, just zr+b, you can do whatever you want even with carbon 3- True, they could also leave bodyblocking if at least they improve ranking system 4- True 5- True, or they could remove (or rework) super smashy weapons 6- True 7- Mmmmh.... mmmhhh... 8- True 9/10- True, I too think that an rng weakness is bad game design
