Swapping the circular saw blade to a high tooth count blade helps heeps for woodworking. They are sold with blades optimized for cutting construction grade products as fast as possible without much care for rough edges. Same goes for jigsaw.
Pursuader, nice one. Since I started woodworking and other DIY myself, I developed some sort of love for some of the old jokes and sayings of my dad. Even though they don't translate well to englisch. That's a nice list of tools! I'd add a few things to the list: Chisels and a stone to sharpen them. You can do some neat / nice stuff with those. A guide rail or guide kit for the circular saw, and maybe also a mitre kit. With those and some sacrificial material, you can almost eliminate tear out and do almost the same cuts as with a mitre or table saw. For all the beginners I can say the following: Start with a set of decent hand tools. You can learn a lot of how different woods behave, how the grain works and how to avoid (costly) mistakes with power tools.
Good video. I enjoy seeing your journey into woodworking. My first bandsaw was a 1945 Delta Milwaukee for $200 from a garage sale. The motor needed rewiring, a new tensioning spring, wheel bands, slapped on an aftermarket fence, and some other TLC totaling maybe another $300, but I still have that bandsaw to this day. I say that to let you know it's possible to get some great tools if you're patient and can put in a little elbow grease to bring it up to snuff. Great stuff, keep it up!
Ive been doing this practically my entire life thanks to my dad, but at almost 40 ive yet to buy an impact driver, and ya know what after this im going to tomorrow 😂 also subbed. But when is the table saw going to come into play? I legitimately couldn't live without mine. Oh you answered that lol
You know, I've never perfectly kept track but feels like they last awhile with normal use. I also always have one or two actively charging, so when the one I'm using dies, I can easily swap.
Fun video. Great oration and attention holding by talking to camera naturally. Combination square, try square, framing square, and rafter square. This is how you end up with as many measuring and marking tools as all your other tools. I like handing people a hand saw and half inch chisel because they are the most versatile. You can basically do everything with a saw and chisel. Anything else just holds a blade in a certain way. They’re the uninhibited, Freeform version of all the fancier specialty tools.
Thank you! I do have a set of chisels that I need to spend some time getting comfortable with. Really incredible what some people make using only chisels and handsaws
I buy one to two clamps every time I go to the hardware store lol. Less daunting that way XD I have... many measuring tapes, including 2 really flat/narrow tapes I can keep on me - comes in so handy when I go somewhere and suddenly need to measure something. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Your on your way to great thing's in woodworking, the right tools for the right job is a must in woodworking. Keep safety at the forefront of what ever you do. Great video and narration good luck on your future in woodworking will be watching.
