We were liars, to my knowledge, is written in a childish simple manner on purpose to highlight the mental issue of the heroin since it is written from her POV. To each their own but I was left sobbing at the end of that book and I NEVER cry over books, tv shows, exc....

I watched Gone Girl the movie a few years back and now I'm really thinking about reading the book. It Ends With Us and Verity are so SO good, Colleen Hoover is my absolute favorite romance novelist.

I gave 3 stars to We Were Liars. The writing was weird. I didn’t like the use of nouns as adjectives. The whole book was a bit pretentious. But I did LOVE Little Fires Everywhere.

the speed I opened this vid with when I saw the 0/5 for we are liars!! Honestly, same. For me too, I feel like I caught on to the plot of the book wayy early and so that just made the reading experience more dull for me. Glad I stumbled onto your channel tho and you threw some pretty good recs, will read! I'd recommend The Roommate (steamy romance) and The Maidens (thriller, wasn't a fan of The Silent Patient by the same author (they are not a series) but I didn't see this ending coming and it was pretty good)

We were liars was such an easy read, but I agree with you. The character development was not there, the “big plot twist” that everyone talked about wasn’t that exciting..

I recommend The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It’s SOOOO good.

I give Ugly love 4/5 stars. It would’ve been better if Tate’s past had been explored more, because we hear a little about her previous relationships but not enough for me

i'm glad that i found someone that has similiar thought about we were liars! i easily get lost and confused in the middle of the story and the ending is just a bit dull for me.. because i dont really connected with the characters soo.. its just overhyped lol sorry for people that actually loved this but its just a no for mee :"D

I reaaallly disliked We Were Liars as well! And Verity was so good - I was super impressed by her first foray into thrillers.

i have such mixed feelings about we were liars. it was so hyped up and i'm a sucker for thrillers but it was so built up for like a not so crazy twist. i mean, i was deff not expecting it and it was a huge plot twist but the truth that was finally revealed wasn't as crazy as i thought it would be. lowkey expected them to kill each other off but....they were all just being dumb. the writing was eerie and could be beautiful sometimes. it's just the build up was too long and it took me a while to get into it.

you saying you would never read on a kindle because you need a book in your hand reminds me so much of tessa from the ‘After’ books, which i’m currently reading and honestly it sounds so relatable

I HATED We Were Liars!!! There was by enough details on any of the characters and I felt like the author just made the ending as depressing as possible for no reason

I got upset when you said that we were liars wasn't it cause I literally cried at the ending and the read the whole book in one sitting.I think the problem is it is a very very fast pace book which can get a lot confusing for some people but to truly understand it u have to put ur whole concentration into it

a lot of people disliked we were liars and I guess I understand why. I personally LOVED it but I think it was because I related to the characters and the family minus the fact that they are crazy rich.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one who didn't get the hype about we were liars. it was weird and so easy to get lost and I thought it would all make sense when I reached the last chapter, but it just made things so much more confusing for me. I was so excited at first trying to figure out what kind of plot twist could possibly be hidden, and while I can admit it was far on my list of predictions it kinda left me feeling very empty and disappointed

if you liked the selection, i recommend shatter me! its also dystopian with romance and it has 6 books but a different storyline so really just 2 trilogies. i did not like the first one but OH MY GOD the 3rd one is so worth it.

I agree with we were liars, when I first heard about the plot I was so excited to read it and all my book friends said that it made them cry ( I love sad books) but i didn’t find the ending sad and I didn’t cry so that was a disappointment. Also I gave it a 3/5 stars

my roommate was reading We Were Liars and hated it and just finished it get to the "twist" at the end. she ended up guessing the twist a third of the way through the book and gave a brief plot synopsis to me, at which point I was also able to guess the ending immediately... definitely seems like it was way overhyped and I won't be reading it since I already know how it ends

I’ve only watched a few book recommendation videos but it’s only on this one that someone recommended ‘One Day in December’. I got that book because I was watching a video from Emily Canham and she recommended it so i went and bought it straight away, and honestly it might just be me but I loved it so so much.

i LOVED we were liars. But I absolutely hated one of us is lying. Many people think Vise Versa. People say the writing in wwl is terrible but that is literally the whole point of the book. It’s from a damaged pov. I’d say it’s better for younger audiences and those who have experienced some kind of trauma like Cadence(mc’s name I think?)did.

I'm right in the middle of We Were Liars but I'm ready to read It Ends With Us. Half the books you recommended I either already bought or I'm getting ready to buy. I love it. We Were Liars. i didn't really understand most of it and I'm in the middle of it and the way it was wrote was kinda idk different? I guess thats the best way. The Sea of the Lost Girl also seems good. I think I might get it.

Everyone hated we were liars and I think that’s because you expecting way too much from it. I read it with no expectations only the knowledge of their being a plot twist and absolutely loved it. Also loved the style of writing it was so easy to read

you should read a summer to die by lois lowry. not a long read, only around 200 pages but its my all time favourite book and made me ugly cry. lovely friendship between a young girl and elderly gentleman. so pure.

I’ve read a very short version of We Were Liars and I kinda liked it. Maybe because it took me like 5 minutes to read the whole story that I liked it, imagine if I read the whole book.. I think I’ll DNF it after 10 pages.
