Don't forget Burger King and Wendy's have surveys on the back of their receipts, too. Do the survey and Wendy's turns into a B1G1 Free coupon and BK turns into a buy ANY item and get a free sandwich coupon.
OMAZE is a great way to donate money to good causes & try to win big prizes. A HUGE PLUS is that they usually pay the taxes on your prize! Who can afford to win a $60k car if you have to pay almost 40% in taxes, title & fees? Great partnership! 💜
Long before vcr's, we would buy a cheap pizza and dress it up at home with mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese and so forth. We would watch the weekend movie while enjoying sharing a 2 liter bottle of soda, home made popcorn and so on. We still miss those days.
9:42 where DQ has a leg up on McD's is with the _availability_ of ice cream - so many times, the ice cream machines at (multiple) McDonald's are broken... maybe more often than not
When I worked at KFC, I always tried to give people the best deal I could, unless you were rude. So, be nice to the fast food employees and you can save some money.
I just love your “frugal “ life style. I’m 61 and was a single Mom, my daughter is now 27 so I wish you were around when I was raising her, because I love the way you find stuff to celebrate and encourage you daughters achievements.........kudo to you!!!!😎👍🏼
Another McDonalds hack is if you have someone in your group who wants Sausage Biscuit and you want a Pancake breakfast.. You buy the "Big Breakfast Meal" with Hot cakes. You can then take the sausage patty you were given and put it between the biscuit you got with the meal and ta-da!! You have a Sausage biscuit sandwich for the one person and you get to have the pancakes! Even if they wanted a Sausage EGG biscuit, there's egg they can put on top too! :) Used this hack while at a convention and I didn't have enough money for me plus my friend to eat two different meals at the end of it.
At Starbucks, you can get a venti water for free. Considering their water is filtered, it would be the equivalent of a 26 ounce bottle of water for free.
Check out Chick fil a ingediants list for their chick breast grilled and fried. Not a one list of Chicken or two chick and flour salt pepper, the chick has a lot of imgrediants in it.
I keep telling my family that it would be awesome if there was a restaurant that served McDonald's fries, Burger King's burgers, and Dairy Queen's ice cream, we'd definitely go there FREQUENTLY! Oh, man.... I can smell it now! Yum!
Hah, one of my friends and I used to go grab red beans and rice at Popeyes, honey butter biscuits at Church's, and then original recipe fried chicken at KFC back when Popeyes had the best sides, Church's the best biscuits, and KFC the best chicken 20 years ago. Now Popeye's is best in all three categories and I just go there now.
My favorite hack is at Wendy’s you can make any single items into a combo. I always order a 6 piece nugget and make it a large combo and it’s less than $5 while the 10 piece same meal is usually$7-$8.
Here's a hack we need. Some pizza places leave 2 inches or more of plain dough at the edge while other pizza places cover the entire pizza with the toppings. So, sometimes you might be buying a 12" pizza but you're really only getting a 8" inch one (2 plain inches off both edges as you measure across the pizza).
Sonics is yummy! My fiance and I went there one nite and got cheeseburgers. We each got a text for a free small shake ( when you sign up with your email, you get good half price deals and coupons sent in texts) but, on a funny note, after we finished our burgers, we decided to get the 2 small shakes and take them home. My fiance reached out of the car window to push the button and proceeded to order our shakes, he told the girl he had 2 coupons for 2 free shakes, her reply? "The shakes are half price tonight". He looked at me with the most bewildered look on his face, and repeated that he had 2 coupons for 2 free shakes, she again said, " ok, but they are half price tonight". He looked at me as if he was shocked beyond belief, at this point, I was laughing so hard, I thought I would wet myself. 😆 lol! So, he turned towards the speaker and asked, " ok, then, how much is half of zero"? Lol! The look on that girls face was a Kodak moment! I don't know if she even ever got the fact that we had free coupons! Lol! Another girl took over, shook her head at the first girl, and brought out our shakes! Lol! A date to remember! Lol! 😂
I get a half price Rt 44 fruit slush and a $1 ice cream cone. I turn the cone upside down in the slush for a cram slush much cheaper than ordering one because they are not on the half price menu.
Our local library used to have bookmarks the kids filled out with books they read, when they hit 10 (I think) they got a free kids meal at Applebee’s. I grabbed them for my son, niece, nephew and my sons 2 best friends who lived next door. It was a great way to get them to read over the summer. We’d take weekly trips to the library to let them play computer games but they had to at least check out and read one book, then I took them all out for a big dinner to end summer the night before school started. It was such a fun way to celebrate, they were in 4th grade I believe, it’s been so long. He’s now going into 8th grade but I loved finding little ways to encourage reading and let them feel proud of their accomplishments. And it didn’t hurt that I was able to afford taking 5 kids out to dinner on my single mom budget lol. They even got dessert included I think!
If they'd had that when I was a kid I could have taken all 7 of us out to eat. I rode my bicycle with the 2 big baskets on the back and checked out 5 books a week. I read so many kid's books that I ran out and the librarian had to choose books for me to read from the adult section.
With every video I love your energy and charisma more than I thought I could. You seem like a great man and your family must be very happy to have you in their lives.
@bonnielee7134 LOL, when have you ever had McDonalds soft serve; the machine is always down. Seriously, you don't have to use soft serve, works just as good and taste good. However,Walmart is said to carry a good 'softserve' not sure of the brand, it's in a OVAL container with maybe a light blue lid.
@ speakeasy2982, Ok, cool, thanks! Probably the Bunny one. Blue Bunny, I think. They’ve got some 16 oz swirl ones but they are mixed with other flavors.
Wish they'd bring back the nut packs! When they nuked the caramel, they also killed the nut toppings. How can u have a Sundae without nuts?? Besides, the protein offsets the sugar. 😏😏😏 McDonald's said that the "Toffee" (Caramel) & "Strawberry Sundaes" were removed from the menu because "they weren't very popular." BUT, further stated, "The Government recommendations regarding sugar consumption also played a part in the removal." It's like, "Are you fricking kidding me??!!" These guys are pushing drinks with TONS of sugars-- like all their "coffee" drinks. The Caramel Macchiato has 56 grams of sugar; Caramel Frappe (67g); Mocha Frappe (66g), Hot Chocolate (58g); and the Caramel Mocha comes in at 49g. Oh, and what about all the sugar in that "Super-sized" Coca Cola??? And don't forget, they usually only list the nutritional info for the SMALLEST size. But the Sundaes were SO unhealthy they pull them from the menu?? Riiggghhhtttt....
Also, at Culver's, it's cheaper to order the classic burgers with toppings and a family fry which is just over $5, as opposed to ordering separate meals. Everyone gets a burger, and you get a huge box of french fries! You don't get drinks, but you do get the same food for a much lower price. As I tell my family, "We have drinks at home."
For the peanut buster parfait. Just get a Buster Bar (It’s actually not listed on many DQ menus I’ve been at but they usually have them). It’s basically a Peanut Buster Parfait on a stick coated in chocolate. And it costs about half the price. :D
Mr. Deal Guy: I have to eat Gluten Free so many times I bring my own gluten free bun with me. By bringing my own GF bun I have a wider choice of places to eat at. Most of the time the managers are nice about my bringing another food product in when I explain the problem. Not everyone who is gluten intolerant like I am can do this, but I thought I'd mention this in case it helps someone.
Thanks for the DQ hacks Matt. The Blizzard hack would be great for small kids. Buy the biggest size for yourself. Take the other one and divvy it up between however many little ones you have. Don’t have enough? Scoop some out of yours and add where needed. If anyone has a latte hack from Starbucks I’d love to hear about it!
Hi Matt - Another very informative and fun video. I'm not much into fast food, but I will keep your tips in mind for road trips. My idea of fast food is "Culver's" and their fried fish. (I don't get out much) Thanks for sharing and continued success. Love PegEgg
Culverts burger has and automatic up charge most don’t know about! If you order the deluxe combo or any combo, you be automatically charged for a larger drink and larger fries! If you order any combo and are eating inside! Order the combo, but tell them you want the small combo! It will be the same burger or chicken size, but the drink will be small and few less fries! Dining in the refills are free, the amount of fries is not much different and the price drops alot!
Not! The Burgers are run through a Broiler Flame grill for that Charbroil flavor! All the other Burger joints use a flat grill! You can taste the difference! Burger King has the best Burgers over McDs or Wendy's!
You should try Trader Joe's caramel with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Its found on the shelves above the frozen food... WAY better than McD's caramel sundae!
At my grocery store, Kroger, there is a brand of Tempura style chicken nuggets sold in bags in the frozen food section. They are essentially McNuggets for a cheaper price and the convenience.
Thank you for sharing these great fast food secrets! I frequent these restaurants and will be taking your suggestions with me. I absolutely love your videos and can’t wait for the next one 💙
I love Starbucks and so does my dog. He is very smart and knows when we are waiting in the drive through. He is a spoiled rotten chihuahua who loves his pupachino’s at Starbucks.
I have to share the burgers at Wendy's are the best for me! I had RNY Gastric Bypass on April 6th and there are many burgers I can taste their poor quality and are loaded with gristle. I also absolutely love their chili! I now have a meal to turn when nothing else works! I just needed to brag on the restaurant! Thanks for showing me how to get more for $1 more! You are amazing!!
At McDonald’s I usually get the 6 piece nugget happy meal with a small drink, kids fry, apple slices, and a toy (which I give to one of my nieces/nephews) all for $3.99. It’s the perfect amount of food for me
We've always done the DQ's Hot Fudge Sunday with peanuts for the kids and us grown ups did the traditional Peanut Buster Parfitt all the time. We called it the Mommy and Me or the Daddy and Me sets. They loved it and never though they were getting short changed out of anything. As they got older the kids sizes just got bigger and they were excited to order the larger sundaes as well.
Thank you Mr Deal Guy. You are my favorite, you always have the most amazing information and tips for the buyers. Thank you and God bless you 😊. My favorite is Wendy's.
My hack for gift cards is to buy them at Krogers when they are doing either 2 time or 4 times the fuel points so I get the cards I need and also save on gas.
A Starbucks gift card hack is to have a Target debit or Target credit card. With either of those cards you can get 5% off of gift cards. So a $25 gift card at Target will cost you $23.75 and the gift card itself it still worth $25.
We buy our gift cards at Kroger, too. We also use the gift cards if we know we're going to need to purchase a large item from Home Depot or Lowes. The extra gas points really make a difference.
Yeah, I've used that hack. Between the survey on the receipt, and their loyalty program, I usually feed a family for four at the cost of the family of three.
I used to eat at Culver's a couple times a week when I lived in Austin. They had 2 for 1 coupons butter burgers (which are HUGE....and FREAKING DELISH!). Dang, I miss them😭😭😭 #fingCovid
Take that 1 dollar you save and put it in a jar. Every time you save a dollar it will add up. It would be better if you pay in cash so you can do this. Also included your change.
Rewards programs earn more freebies and cash isn't always better. For example, Starbucks rewards earn more points if you pay with a loaded SB card on their app; buy discount cards and load them to the app. Earn bonus stars by buying/participating in promotions. Don't spend your points on anything small, save for the 400 points and get a freebie worth up to $20 in a store. Get a new mug, travel mug, reusable cups, ground coffee... whatever. I've gotten a free mug & Bodem cold brew maker so far. So while their coffee is expensive, compared to a $2 soda drink at a fast food place, I'd rather have have a crafted beverage & earn freebies too. You can also use a debit card to reload your SB card in the app.
WHAT-A-BURGER is without a doubt the best burger sold 😋😋 And since dogs can not eat regular whipped cream, Star Bucks uses genuine Coconut cream for the pupachino.
I've had both In and Out and What-a-burger. What-a-burger beats out In and Out. The huge onion you get on an In and Out burger is disproportionate. All you taste is the huge onion. A What-a-burger junior is perfect.
At Starbucks (*$$), if you like an iced latte, this hack is for you... Iced latte recipe is ice, milk, and 2 shots of espresso. For about half the price, order a doppio (double shot of espresso), a (free) cup of ice, and top it off with the (free) milk in the store
Fun fact: If you ever find yourself ordering 2 small drinks, just buy 1 of that drink in the largest size it comes and ask for an empty cup on the side!! I'm always telling customers that at the place I work, and it cuts the cost so much!
A deal at Popeye's would be getting your order correct and timely. I've never been abused so much by a restaurant. I love the food but my husband refuses the aggravation
POPEYE'S best deal is doing their survey on the back of the receipt. Get a 2pc chicken & biscuit w/purchase large drink. $2.49 @ my store for all that👍
I saw one you did about McDonald’s burgers, I took your advice. I order a double cheeseburger with only diced onion, Mac sauce and shredded lettuce to have a small BIG MAC. It’s still a little too much for me with a small fry but I certainly enjoy it! I’ve also had it with lettuce, tomato and Mayo for a small “deluxe” burger.
Great information in this one! I wondered if you could do a video on fast food deals based on ingredients. My service dog and I always stopped for Burger King breakfast on grooming day (4hr drive to his groomer.) A few months ago, we got our usual ham, egg, and cheese croissants, but they had a thick textured slice of ham instead of the usual deli-style thin slices. My dog wouldn't touch it; he didn't even recognize it as food. We go to McDonald's now for the English muffins. Last Veteran's Day, we got a hamburger from Red Robin or Chili's (I can't remember now.) It looked like hamburger, but it was squishy like colored foam. He wouldn't eat that, either. I did some research and found out about lab-grown meat and "upcycled" food (trash) and that consumers aren't told what they're eating. I use my dog's nose to tell the difference and make a list of places that still offer real food. Yes, he is awesome!
I always tell my son watch the animals and do what they do. If they sun themselves or stretch, if they won’t eat something don’t eat it ect. If they hide or run you better run to because something is coming, that’s why horses act crazy before earthquakes they can sense it.
@@juliebolduc802 I only eat organically raised grass-fed and finished. But I'm glad I quit eating fast food a very long time ago. I've had it maybe four times in the past ten years.
When I was a kid and hanging out with all of my cousins, my uncle would go to fast food places, order us food, but for the drink he would order 2 large sodas and a bunch of "courtesy cups" as they were called which were basically condiment cups and then pour us all drinks in those from the 2 larges. It saved a boatload in drink costs.
It may not be the best tasting food out of all the fast food joints, but by far the very best deals! Until just recently on "Whopper Wednesday's" you could score a $1 Whopper, $2 DW, or a $3 TW, now that's a great deal no matter your appetite. 👏🥰
Whataburger has the best burger. Behind them is Wendy's. I like Wendy's because the vegetables are cold and fresh, and the meat is never frozen. When you bite into it, you get hot meat, and cold lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. It's fresh.
Whataburger burgers Representing Texas here. 😊❤️ Culver’s are really good also butter burgers you can’t go wrong!! Everybody has different tastes and likes🙂
With today technology- if someone doesn't have the funds for chick filet, there are copies of the recipe online (same for everything like that!) I can make chick filet at home! I tried an online copycat and then tweaked it till it was spot on! 🎉
Thanks for the tips. Don’t eat at many fast food restaurants, but always want to say a buck to spend on something I deem more valuable. My tip is, I like Big Macs just not the extra bread and lettuce, so I order a McDouble with no catsup, onions or mustard and add Mac sauce. I end up with 2 patties, pickles , Mac sauce and cheese for about $2.25 not $4.99.
