I said the same thing, Lane is a no doubt HOF'er if he retired today. Hasn't allowed a sack in over 2 years and has been too 3 at his position for the better part of a decade. Basically the fact that he's been a well known name throughout the league as an offensive lineman, pretty much says it all. Only O lineman guys names we know are the elites
Cameron Hayward of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the 6x time pro bowler, and 3x all pro just needs one more good pro blow season. He's got 78.5 sacks. If he can get into the 100 sacks club, that would help his case. And if he could just get a Super Bowl ring, that definitely helped, too.
That’s a good one. The slow start hurts him bc he’s not a 2010s all-decade team guy & given age he’ll likely not make the 2020s all-decade team. Combine with his career really taking off once TJ watt got to the team. It’s tough. But like you said some more all-pro seasons, more pro-bowls & he would get in off accolades.
if anyone deserves it i say jason kelce he is the heart and soul of the o-oline ever since he join he the leader he reason eagles are in the mix kinda each year and not giving up until they out of playoff talks and even out of playoff talks he still produce and try
Matthew stafford is the only player that might miss the hall of fame not because of his play on the field but because of perception. He's all over the NFL record books but has never been voted a pro bowler.
Not yet, and him and Chubb are my favorites to watch. Derrick needs at least 2 more huge years, and Chubb 3-4 imho. Derricks ypc have dropped to 4.3 and 4.4 the last 2 years. He's got to stay healthy too. I'm pulling for him.
@@clevelandcbitheres no way chubb is that close to henry all time, chubb has no mvp caliber seasons, opoy awards or the great rushing stats that henry has
I personally think Edelman deserves a spot, he pretty much defined the slot receiver role, has the stats and awards, he changed the way the game was played, and he was crucial to the history of the nfl, the hall of fame isn’t just about stats and people forget that, also gronk, the nfl doesn’t keep track of tight end blocks but other sources do and gronk is by far the best blocking tight end of all time and top ten in every other stat for tight ends
Gronk is obviously first ballot. Edelman though? Lol no chance. Even just the fact that Hines Ward and Torry Holt are still waiting after all these years.
Chubb would have to do a lot over next 4 years ,he plays for the browns and he not been a single featured back like most those guys you mentioned. Let's see how he does with out sharing carries with hunt. Chubb is great but hall of fame ? Time will tell
@@paulgood2218Being a Brown definitely hurts, but his 5 year average is 5.2ypc 1268 yards. Jim Brown's first 5 was 5.1ypc 1269 yards. I think that's cool and crazy.
Even as a Packers fan... Stafford was definitely a top 5 QB in the league at some points of his career Who was the QB for arguably 2 of the best WR seasons of all time? He was!!!
Top 10 for sure! I didn't say he was over his full career so far 😅 And he definitely was 😘 Only cuz you don't like someone doesn't mean he ain't good 😉
I feel like Russell Wilson should have been on the list, especially as the last payer mentioned. I’m a Seahawks fan. Loved what Russ did while he was here, but I think he’s a bubble HOF player right now. His last season with Seattle and or course his first with Denver really exposed him for being less than was thought. But I think he just needs one competitive and convincing season with the Broncos to be a HOFer.
I would like to think that, since he wasn't on this list, you already consider Cam Heyward as a lock for Canton. As a Steelers fan, I do think he needs one more All Pro season to solidify his candidacy. Though his career started out slow, you can't argue with 6 straight pro bowls and 3 1st team all pro nods.
Another Browns (and Buckeye) fan who sees Cam as a lock. He's a great person but I hate him as a player because he's been so good. Is the man ever going to act his age?
Lane Johnson is a hall of famer if he retired today. Guy hasn't allowed a sack in over 2 seasons, been top 3 at his position for the better part of a decade. He's a no brainer just like Jason Kelce is for Center
If Derrick Henry was on the Cowboys, he’d be a lock. 1,500 yards last year behind a terrible, injured OLine, starting qb hurt half the season, and top 3 WRs constantly injured. Henry was the Titans entire offense. He’s the best I’ve ever been able to watch
And not to mention his Oc the last two years was Todd Downing, literally the worst playcaller and personnel decision maker I’ve ever seen. He would consistently take Henry off the field on 3rd and shorts. Every team that played the Titans knew exactly when Henry was getting the ball, and they still couldn’t stop him
What Lavonte David gotta do to get some respect from TPS? I get that the dude was outshined by Bobby Wagner and Pile Jumper Luke Kuechly for the majority of his years. But I mean the dude probably has a record for most Solo tackles of any Linebacker.
@@mattcomer6379 He’s been slept on his whole career. Snubbed of many pro bowls and All Pros. It’s truly sad because if he were on another team like the Patriots, Cowboys or Steelers, he’d be an household name.
He is a hofer it’s just funny that he doesn’t have accolades because he has had better stats then Wagner and Luke almost every year he played hell David has more sacks int tfl ff tds fr and tackles but they both have more pro bowls and all pros hell the season David only played 12 games is better then wagners 3rd be season
@@Obie_24 true yet Hopkins knows the offense. Which Brown didn't play in because Run first OC's that were there. Kelly's offense put up great passing numbers without a RB of Henry's caliber in Houston.
Stafford would need 2-3 years. Hopkins would need 2 years at least. Derrick Henry needs 1 year. I agree. CJ Mosely will not make it, lol Lane Johnson is locked for the Hall of Fame I agree, Stephon Gilmore needs to have a great season this year to get into the hall of fame. If he does not, then I give him one more year. Darius Slay would need 2 years to make it. Mike Evan will make it 100% Khalil Mack needs at least 100 sacks and he'll make it. If he misses that he wont make it Odell Beckham will make it, unfortunately.
I’m a saints fan and huge Cam Jordan fan but I don’t think he’ll get in unless he has some huge numbers this season and at least an ok season after that. With that said, I do really hope he’ll get in.
Honestly if they decrease the value for a RB to make the HOF because the league is now more pass happy then they should increase the value needed for WRs and QBs to make it in.
The fact that he plays in Tennessee might honestly keep him out. He’s easily been the best rb in the league for several years now, but you still have people ranking him below guys like Chubb, Barkley, Cook, McCaffery, etc. Derrick is the best I’ve ever personally seen.
Derrick Henry is already a lock. Mentioning him in the same video as CJ Mosely is wrong, and I'm an Alabama fan. But like you said in the video, the NFL has devalued the position and he is still putting up 20th century numbers. He will probably get another season but even if it's cut short, he will make it.
Of all these players, probably only lane johnson will be a hof. Odell have had just 3 or 4 seasons as an elite player and nobody expect him to play even close of that he played as a giant. Maybe an unforgettable player because that reception, but is far from be one of best ever
Agree, though maybe Henry and Gilmore, too. There are too many great receivers still waiting to get in. Can I tell the story of the NFL without the rest of this list? Definitely Yes!
Derrick Henry? 2,000 yard season, multiple time rushing champ (for yards and TDs), most 200 yard games ever, multiple pro bowls, first team all pro, offensive player of the year, only player with 3 consecutive games with 180+ yards, first to have 180+ yards in consecutive playoff games, longest rush in nfl history (t-99yds), and has done all of that with a mostly mediocre team around him. What more would he need to do?
Dare I say the Pro Bowl shouldn’t hold value to going to the HoF. It’s a popularity contest. Tyler Huntley made it last year throwing for 600+ yards with 2TDs to 3Ints
Lower the expectations for RBs? Aren’t y’all the same people that said Jerome Bettis should be removed from the HOF but you want to lower expectations so Derrick Henry can get in? Bruh
It’s sad had people don’t appreciate how good he is just because he plays for the titans. He’s been easily and by far the best back in the league for several years now
Hopkins is on a team with Derrick Henry, a run first offense and questionable quarterbacks. That and being on the wrong side of 30 means he won't have a great season to add to his hall of fame case. At best, he gets to 900 receiving yards.
top 10 once he retires yes very underrated when healthy and have protection and if they go deep in the playoffs for rams yes for matt but if not i think they gonna let him miss the hall of fame sadly 100% makes if he wins another ring
I doubt Hopkins will get in. Not because he isnt a great WR, but more so of how virtually difficult it is for WR's to get selected, PED's aside, his resume will not be good enough if you are comparing him to those who barely got in Example: Chris Carter Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year (1999) 2× First-team All-Pro (1994, 1999) Second-team All-Pro (1995) 8× Pro Bowl (1993-2000) NFL receptions leader (1994) 3× NFL receiving touchdowns leader (1995, 1997, 1999) NFL 1990s All-Decade Team 130 TDS Hopkins 3× First-team All-Pro (2017-2019) 2× Second-team All-Pro (2015, 2020) 5× Pro Bowl (2015, 2017-2020) NFL receiving touchdowns leader (2017) 70TDs Remember Chris Carter barely got in, and this is in the era where a QB hardly threw for 3K Yds. You are expecting alot from a 31 year old WR on a team with a avg at best QB that is run first.
Complete disrespect to DHOP, he is fs top 10 hands of all time and is extremely consistent, also not to mention he has never had a good qb or good team really. he still isnt hof in my opinion though
I personally don’t think that Matthew Stafford is going to be in the Hall of Fame. He won a Super Bowl in his first year with his new team (Rams), but I don’t feel as though that being pretty much the best player on a Lions team that’s been well short of expectations every year before that I don’t think that’s good enough to make a case to enter the Hall of Fame yet. Plus, I don’t even think he won as many individual awards like MVP or offensive player of the year
Lavonte David should get in no matter what if Wagner gets in dude has been the best mlb over the past ten years most tackles sacks ints tfl ff Fr and tds almost double Wagners stats but Wagner makes the pro bowl or all pro every year
