1st and 2nd Supra was still street legal cars. Actually a guy I graduated HS with, Dalton, owns Boostlee. Ive seen the car driven around town. You can see the NC tag in it even. The 2400hp Supra was a straight up race car. It didnt even have the factory body and full roll cage ect. There is a big difference in street/drag car and full blown "promod"

And some of the top tier drag teams have made 3000+ hp from them. Again all custom stuff plus had to be tore down and rebuilt after every few races. Almost like a NHRA Top Fuel car they are pushed so far on 6 cylinders around 3-4 liters depending on setup

Just last night I reached 150 mph in my Z (it was 121, then 132, 141, 142, now 150) and these supras make me feel so slow still XD but let me tell you going down a 2 lane highway in Texas doing 150 was SUCH a rush, love you 1320 crew you guys are a light to the drag racing world. Old and inefficient ? perhaps, however the engine still dominates the scene today, consistently beating out more modern vehicles and engines, there is almost no other engine out there that can make such a large amount of sobering horsepower, for such a small amount of mods, while making much more from a fully built engine. Sometimes simplicity is the best way to go, sure the cast iron block design is heavy and large, but the reliability and boost these engines can take is simply astounding. Till there are more engines built this strong, the engine will continue to be popular in the car scene, with aftermarket companies now producing their own improved and custom version of these engines like billet forged blocks, even stronger than the original toyota block. It is just like how old outdated pushrod v8s are still used today in hot rodding and other applications, due to their simplicity, massive aftermarket support and ease repair.

Wow lightning reflexes, at first we only saw a big puff of smoke, but from the inside it happened in a flash and you respond instantly 👍👍👍 That’s a lot different then seeing pepoles on the roads grabbing the steering wheel with both hands and squeezing it so tight it changed colors because they saw a squirrel on the sidewalk. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
