Delta Emerald was trademarked because that's the delta episode, they trademarked it to cover ground. Because it's original name was going to be the sets emerald episode

Shouldn't Pokémon topaz(Uxie), Tomalien(idk how to spell as Mesprit), and Pokémon moonstone (Azelf) to be after the three legendary lake Guardian Pokémon? I mean the colors are very similar yellow pink and blue and there are three minerals and there are three Pokémon which the legendary lake guardian Pokémon are made up of three different lakes and three Pokémon. Not only that you can find them fairly easily but they are time consuming in Alpha Sapphire and Alpha Ruby. That's probably the reason why the games were made and the similarity to them but since well I wouldn't consider them a very important part in game and if you can find them (mostly with cheats) then they wouldn't be very important in their own game sooo maybe that's why they weren't released? Don't criticize me it's just my thoughts on this :3 So it's possible that the three could have been legendary of the three games but then there was Alpha sapphire and ruby so it's a possibility? But then there is another possibility that the three could have been delta names for diamonds pearl and platinum. I don't know it's just weird thoughts going trough my head
Dude, Diamond and Pearl, Black and White/Black 2 and White 2? Sun and Moon also. Kinda. Cyrus wanted to destroy the current universe and make a new one. Ghetsis wanted to "save" pokémon (aka take over the world) and didn't hestitate to FREEZE a child and/or the entire region by manupilating a legendary pokémon's genes to do so. Lusamine is a crazy lady who wants to live with huge, dangerous aliens just because her children left her. Also, did you even read Sun and Moon's pokédex entries? Everything I just listed may not sound "dark" at all, but, trust me. Pokémon gets quite dark sometimes..
Mokka Ghetsis basically went insane after the first time he was defeated, 2 years or something before Black 2/White 2, in the original B/W. He was still sane then.

Going off of what you said about the legendary mascots being different in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald had the been named differently, the shiny versions of the Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza kind of mimic Topaz, Tourmaline, and Moon Stones. Groudon’s yellow color reflecting topaz, Kyogre’s pink being tourmaline, and although least similar, Rayquaza’s black showing moon. Just something to think about!
I'd dream on a day they came out with a game where you start in Kanto, can progress to Johto, Hoenn etc. How many ever regions and play through on one cartridge. (Nothing like a rip of any sort) Similar fashion to when the third gen began, could opt to keep only one pokemon with you or just use that region's starter and act as if you're replaying. Just a nice long adventure. Naturally, many pokemon can still be hard to get and made exclusively to the safari zone and what not. (1% encounter rates, 5%, perhaps even 0.5% if possible... and not necessarily just the safari zone but in water/gass/etc. Something to make playing worth its while.
Homophobic Waffle It wasn't a rumour. They just cancelled it. It was believed to be due to money reasons. New generations make more money than additional games so instead of making Z it made more sense to just go straight to Sun and Moon. Those games also had the additional Zygarde plot, Zygarde's different forms and all the Z-Move stuff that was planned for Pokemon Z.

I think topaz can be green, tourmaline can be pink-red, and moon stones at least in the pokemon games are black. Shiny groudon is green, shiny kyogre is purple (close enough), and shiny rayquaza is black. Illuminati confirmed.
What you just said kind of makes me think that the original colorations of those legendary Pokemon could of been the shiny forms. I would prefer to have Kyogre be blue though, so that is a good thing because if the one I had was purple or pink, I wouldn't like it. Yes, I actually did catch Kyogre
Real Moonstones are sort of a white-ish colour with a tinge of light blue and light purple that change in prominence as light is shined on it--sort of like with opals. And yes, I do see what you're doing there, I just wanted to say that.
I think all these titles have patents so if someone makes a fan game via ROMs and tried to distribute it, Game Freak could take the legal route cease the game. It sounds like they're just covering their bases.
The Delta episode might have originally been meant to be a whole game to itself, but they decided to scales it back Topaz might have been what they planned on doing instead of Emerald, If they had gone with Topaz, the colors of the three games would have been red, blue, and yellow, like the originals. Tourmaline and Moonstone might have been the original names for Diamond and Pearl. Given the time frame when they were trademarked (~2 years before Black and White), Brown and Grey might have been the original names for Black and White. Purple and the three shades of Red might have been as you said or they might have been something special meant to be released alongside Black and White. Purple, being a mix of Red and Blue, could have been an anniversary release (trademarked ~3 years from 15th anniversary), with Vermilion, Crimson, and Scarlet being alternative names.
Out of Topaz, Tourmaline, and Moonstone, I think at least Topaz could have been an early name for Emerald. Because the colours of Gen3 almost matched up perfectly with the global release of Gen1. Ruby is Red, Sapphire is Blue, Topaz could have been Yellow. It may be worth mentioning that Rayquaza still has a little bit of yellow in its design, the "veins" the flow through its body. Maybe it was going to be all yellow at some point.

There’s only Gen 5 Pokémon in the region, and many of the Pokémon introduced serve similar functions to Gen 1 Pokémon. It’s like a new beginning because you can’t access any other regional Pokémon until way later on.
Another cool game would be Pokémon Iron, Frost, and Boulder where the legendary mascots are a Primal or Mega versions of the Regi-trio. Another idea us Pokémon Z, a follow up to X and Y and the legendary is Zygarde 100% Form.
Delta Emerald wouldve been my instant favourite. Emerald was the first game i bought so it will always have my fondest memories. Plus fighting both magma and aqua and having the Groudon and Kyogre duel was epic.
I don't know if you guys ever noticed back in the kanto region, in the anime where team rocket were inside a magikarp submarine, they were happily foreshadowing the upcoming pokemon games, I don't remember the dialogue but Jessy said something about "rubies and sapphires", and James said "and emeralds too" while Meowth said something like "diamond and pearls ain't that bad either". It's crazy how back then we had no idea what was coming
Pokémon Brown is a GBC rom hack (¿originally released 2014?), and Pokémon Crimson is a GBA rom hack (originally released in 2011). As it takes many years for Pokémon rom hacks to be made, I wouldn't be surprised is Nintendo for word of them and copy-righted there names so that they would have leverage later on from a legal stand point...

it's interesting that most of your theories all lead to black and white, purple could've had a plot about mewtwo and maybe mew, and scarlet and crimson might of had some connection to gen two or gen three, possibly a reboot.
About the Topaz and Tourmaline- shiny Groudon is yellow-ish (like Topaz) and shiny Kyogre (like Tourmaline) is pink-ish :) In addition (and this is a stretch) there is a black moonstone with gold veins usually appearing, similar to shiny Rayquaza!
Shiny Groudon is yellow = Topaz Shiny Kyogre Pink-ish = Tourmaline ( maybe, kind of pushing it on this one) If the games were originally intended to be called Topaz and Tourmaline it's possible that the names were scrapped for more known minerals and just changed the colors of the legendaries to match. The original colors were left as shiny versions of the pokemon I assume because the color sets were already made. Rather than remove the original designs they decided to leave them in the game as a sort of easter egg. Would be pretty cool if this was true.
If so, why they did release a 100% version of Zygarde, which has nothing in common with SUMO? I suppose that Gamefreak was thinking about it, for a short period of time.
Most likely we are getting a Kanto remake. The next movie coming out is about Ash starting his journey. I want a Kanto remake! Crimson Red version, Ocean Blue version, or Earth Green version.
Pretty sure Brown was filed because some fan created a game that later became Pokémon Prism. They originally called their fan game "Pokémon Brown". It was started around that time, IIRC.
Theory: Pokémon brown was the beta let’s go eevee. They did a Pokémon yellow and they thought of doing another Kanto come back with eevee as your starter but scraped it until LGPE
As for titles like Pokemon Brown and Delta Emerald it could also just be to protect the trademarks, since they could be deemed obvious names for follow up games (this could ofc also be the case for Pokemon Grey, but I'd like to believe that that was going to be a game). Ofc. Pokemon is already a trademark, but maybe they didn't want "Delta Emerald" to be taken. I really wanted Pokemon Grey - Black and White 2 I didn't buy.
