There are so many beaches in Australia, that if you wanted to visit a new one each day, it would take you 30 years to get around them all.

Welcome to gods country you have the right attitude to become a citizen of this wandererous place i love the same things as you do and silently thank my parents every day for bringing me to this clean healthy and friendly country over 70 yrs ago , I have been lucky enough to be able to visit some 20 icon cities around the world and have found great things to like about all of them but there's really no place I'd put in front of Sydney . I love the city and the people , the culture and the open friendliness, the bustle and the calm atmosphere the sense of security at night , of course it has its faults what city doesn't? But I visit whenever I can and am always amazed by the constant building and construction making it even more modern while maintaining its unique colonial past . You mentioned Port Stephens another favourite spot for me because it's just up from my home in Newcastle and I can tell you it's one of the world's best kept secrets .for me it compares favourably with places I've been in the south pacific such as Hawaii and Tahiti the Cook Islands and Fiji erc . I have given my subscription because I like your attitude and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future . I also liked the fact that you went a whole show without mentioning one dangerous insect or animal , big points for that.

Because so many Sydneysiders are born overseas or even from other parts of Australia it makes everyone very open to meeting new people and inviting new people into their friendship groups. More so than Melbournians, which are friendly but often have their established groups of friends.

Welcome to Oz. I was born and raised in Sydney (near Manly). As a kid I loved the beach, BBQs, picnics, being a Boy Scout and going camping and much more. There is just so much you can do in and around Sydney. Your discovery of the Blue Mountains is a really good one. Have fun and keep exploring Australia.

Thanks! I was there for 1 month 10 years ago when I was backpacking. And came back for new years 2019-2020, just before covid. At that time I was traveling to new zeeland as well so was only able to stay for a few days. I have been to makt places but Sydney has a special place in my heart. No other city has felt that way.

What a lovely post... Thanks for appreciating Sydney it is amazing! I now live in the Sth Coast of NSW in a beautiful town called Milton. It’s past Jervis Bay (about 45mins south) and has an amazing “vibe” about it. A lot of people say the area it reminds them of Byron Bay before all the celebrities moved in there...

Good on you for pointing out that there's a lot more to Sydney than the beaches. The Blue Mountains (not very tall mountains but with great valley views) are not far away even on the regular public transport trains there). The trains to Newcastle will give you river and farming scenery, again with regular trains. Public transport further inland is not very good, but the roads are not crowded by European standards and hiring a car is easy - just remember that we drive on the left side of the road and that may take a bit of getting used to.

@daveg2104

Well, Sydney is a lot bigger than back in the 80's. Name one large modern city that hasn't changed since then. Plus, you missed the 70's, and I was too young for the swinging 60's. I don't miss the polluted air (like the "brown stain" photo-chemical cloud that would hang over the city at certain times), the untreated sewerage and industrial waste being pumped into the ocean and harbour, the seriously blatant corruption ("the Joke", among many other issues). Yeah, houses were cheaper (but wages were lower), and good luck if you were a single woman/divorced (particularly with children) with renting a property or getting a home loan (didn't apply to the seriously rich and connected of course). Pub Rock, the old ferries, hanging out the doors of the red rattlers, milk bar hamburgers with the lot, the roguish and somewhat dangerous charm of the old Kings Cross (see "the Joke"), the fact that a lot of Sydney was still underdeveloped - I do have a bit of nostalgia for those days. I certainly don't miss getting caned in primary school.

The Eastern suburbs is not the best.. but as rich people live there......they think it is! But the northern beaches and even the topography is MUCH better!

Congratulations for making Sydney, Australia your home. It makes us Aussie's proud when people come here and enjoy our lifestyle. You probably have been here, but if not, you should consider coming down to "The Shire" and checking out 'our' national parks, beaches, shopping, scuba diving, rivers and water holes. So much to see and do down here...30minutes from the city. I often come over to Clovelly to swim with a mate of mine. If you are interested I can chaperone you about for a whole day and show you the sights and introduce you to many new recreational areas of fun. 👍Drop me a reply here and we could meet for coffee in the Eastern Suburbs to discuss it! Cheers.

Existing in Sydney does not count as living. Next time try living in Sydney. Outdated road system, fixed with NO Right Turn signs. In the city you can drive kilometers until you are allowed to make right turn. You miss it and again next few km. Narrow drive lanes. This width of lines would not be approved even in most undeveloped EU country. Trust me, I am talking from direct experience. The lines width is from 3rd world country, where everyone drive tuktuk. But WHY here is the same width, remains mistery. People from around the world? Lool dont sey ya. Most of all "people around the world" are from surrounding 3rd world areas and Asia. Majority g.0.0.k.s and w.0.g.s. If you dont know this words, nice chance to enrich your vocabulary with this 2 ozy words. And how you go to Blue Mountins without crossing few countries? Some suburbs are actually sovereign country. Stop in Lakemba for example you are in middle east. Not australia. Have you ever heard Cronulla riots 2009? Exactly in your area behind coogee, where I am close too, half of the streets have 30-40% recline, which comes too much for pedestrians, cant even say about cyclists. Inadequate city transportation, all goes to CBD and nothing around neighborhoods. Have you got a baby? Good luck with child care system. Even in poor EU countries have better one. If you are not from high top rich class, your child will start talking Chinglish. Its kind of cast sociery like India. Just walk little west from your area, in Kensington all streets have only non english signs. You cant read anything on the street. Get inside and you are alien. Newspapers only chinese. Make next video from the streets there and say you are in China, will look 100% legit
