Sorry to be a negative but as a 45+ year old maltese i can give you one advise. Avoid sliema , st julians area as a turist. that area has become a non maltese area. By that i mean you cannot see the real maltese beauty when you stay there. I don't mean you shouldn't visit but don't stay too long there. It;s an area that is full of foreigners who are trying to sell you "the maltese culture" but they have no idea what that actually means. If you want to see malta go to places like marsaskala , marsaxlokk, mgarr , bahrija, siggiewi and gozo.
I have to agree with you Alex. My husband & I came to stay in Malta February/March this year. We not only stayed in Sliema, but we also stayed at the absolutely fabulous Waterfront Hotel. This Hotel I can highly recommend to others, from the amazing buffet breakfast, to the most beautiful rooms, with sea views across to Valletta, to the fantastic staff at the Hotel.. 10/10 in my personal opinion. Sliema is such a fantastic location & central to everything as you have said. I am hoping to be back in Sliema in September & I cannot wait. Thank you for everything you do Alex & have a wonderful weekend xxx❤️❤️
In malta right now, staying in St pauls bay watched Alex before we came best info I came in 2001 with my now deceased sister. My parents visited many times. Off to sliema today 😊
IS - "SLIEMA" GHALIKHOM 🙏 . Alex ,I would like to add another reason why visitors should choose SLIEMA for a holiday stay or a visit - #11: SLIEMA residents (Sliemizi) are the nicest and kindest people one could ever meet or be around with - MALTA in human terms 😇. Lovely vlog Alex 👏. Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ❤️ 🇪🇺
1:45 oh and Alex pls don’t take the Comino Route from Sliema since it will take you 5 HOURS to Comino and making a stop by’s from Bugibba to Gozo it will be like a waste time so just take a ferry from Cirkewwa and you’ll be immediately there.
Hi Alex, Sliema looks great! I stumbled across your channel a few weeks ago, and your videos have been so helpful! Thank you. I’m actually considering relocating back to Europe after a few years in Asia (and kinda stuck here during the obvious). I’m a British passport holder/citizen, and Malta really seems like it could be a good fit. I’m not looking to travel, more settle and laying down some roots. My current situation is that I work online and can continue to do that wherever I relocate to. I’m also an artist (the paintings in gallery kind, lol). So regarding the visa or settling there, do you have any insight into my options regarding visas? Is it possible to continue to work online, at least to get started there? I’ve heard about entrepreneur visas popping up in some countries and I’m open to working. But it would be convenient to continue working online just as a way to support myself while I get my bearings and scope out work options. Thank you very much for your videos and if you have a moment to reply, I’d really appreciate it. Best wishes, James (in Taiwan)
Alex me and my wife are hoping to move to Malta to live.is it straightforward to do so .Can you find work even if we are 61 years old ?is it a 90 day stay rule Cheers Alex 👍👍
'Grazzi' for this video. I'm thinking of visiting Malta later this year and I was thinking of staying in Sliema as it has a lot of amenities and is has good transport links to Valletta and other parts of the island. One concern is finding a good bathing spot near my hotel. I have read that Fond Ghadir is nice (it seems nice on google street view) - is that right?
Alex as you know my daughter lived in Malta for 12 years, previous to her living there we always stayed in Sliema, the weekly bus ticket, when we last visited 2 years ago included buses on Gozo, has that now changed because you said 21 Euro’s for a weekly bus ticket I’m Malta. We’ll probably visit again next year. Have a nice day 😎 it’s sunny in England today, Sunday
Great idea Alex how about 10 reasons to stay in Valletta, 10 reasons for Mellieha, Bugibba etc. Yet again honest, interesting info on the beautiful islands of Malta and Gozo thanks again Kenny from Scotland
Great video, just the right length to give you information. We stayed in Sliema for a week 2 years ago at the Victoria. One note, the week long Tallinga card included Gozo, so you didn't have to pay extra. Maybe that has changed
Excellent one. There are 10000 videos or more on Malta but this is the only video which you need to see to decide what to do and where to stay in Malta. This video is so crisp and on point. I did not take any time to book a stay in Sliema. Thanks Alex. You saved my 1 week of research time 😊.
I will be visiting malta in july for tourism.. most of the info that I Know now to make decisions for my itinerary I got it from your channel .. thanks a lot.. I subscribed Patrick from South 🇨🇱
Great video Alex. ❤ We always stay in Sliema or Balluta Bay. We love the vibes, its so well connected and only a short boat ride from Vallletta. I'll be there is a few weeks and I'm counting down the days.
1:19 but u forgot to mention best thing free Tallinja for resident and unlimited free access at any time on Tallinja card holders in Malta public transport 😊
Thank you Alex for helping us a few days back whilst doing your other job outside of youtube. Your professionalism was great to see. please keep doing youtube, I wish we had found your channel sooner. Have a safe life as you said to us :)
Spot on, Alex, and thank you for the winter Sliema-Valletta ferry timetable! Will be handy for when we return for our annual early November holiday. Thank you also for the views that we love and look forward to.
After living and working in Sliema for almost 2 years now... it's definitely the right spot for me. Wish it had retained most of the Maltese architecture though...
