Why is the hex lock on top of the pull station and why would they have a commercial alarm system in there house? And also you don’t have to flip the switch back up on the bg12
You can silence the alarm before you reset the pull you just need to reset the pull before you reset the panel and you might need to wait for the fire department depends if you system is monitored or not
I'm sorry but you people have no idea what you are doing! On fire alarm panels, you can always silence before resetting the pull station. You can’t reset the system if the pull station is still activated.
Me too you pulled it wrong, and you don't need to flip the switch up you can just close it and not all pull stations have allen rench reset and lastly you don't insert the tool like that on the pull station
First of all you can silence the system before resetting the pull station And you have to push in a dual action BG12 you can’t just pull down until it snaps like in this video this video is very wrong.
@@SWMOWoodsman They say you can do that in the manual. It says, "Resetting the station is simple: insert the key, twist one quarter-turn, then open the station’s front cover, causing the spring-loaded operation handle to return to its original position. The alarm switch can then be reset to its normal (non-alarm) position manually (by hand) or *by closing the station’s front cover* , which automatically resets the switch."
Remember if there is fire alarms in someone’s house that is not yours don’t tamper with them just like you would treat fire alarms in a public building.
You pulled the BG-12 wrong. You are supposed to push in a bit and pull down, exactly what the instructions say on the pull station. That will damage the pull station and cause a trouble on the panel. Also, you made multiple mistakes.
A bunch of flaws will happen in the video: - Inapporiate installation of Commercial/Business Fire Alarm System in a small home. - You have to silence the panel before you actually reset the fire alarm pull station. If that’s a nuisance to you? Then get an annunciator. - Instruction Video does not SHOW how to really pull the fire alarm - Inapporiate placement of a Allen wrench on a pull station, this may cause tamper risk if ITS OPEN! If this is a real building, there is lots of people getting charged and encounter tampering with a life safety device! - Sounding of the piezo change on the horn strobe, (If the P2R sounds like a mini horn then it does not sound like an actual fire alarm) - If the alarm is a Advance Pull station or a BG 12 then you do not have to flip the switch. You just open and close. Its quick and easy. - This video is misleading and false! Other fire alarm inspectors and other fire fighters will be really confused of this video and cause certain mistakes. And IT DOES NOT MEET THE NFPA AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STANDARDS!
Acrodding to another video on this channel this home was built in a group of homes in a California pilot program and part of the program the homes had to have fire alarm systems
You used the wrong sound for the SpectrAlert Advances at the beginning of the video, and throughout the entire video has the wrong sound. Only the end has the correct sound for the SpectrAlert Advances.
0:57 | Yes, silencing the alarm will work if the pull station is reset. And you do not have to push the black switch up when you reset the station, it goes up automatically. Maybe learn how fire alarm systems work before you post this on RU-vid.
