When I was a child, I never realised that the joke of Forrest Gump phoning up the hotel to say that he couldn't sleep due to the lights in the building across the street implying that Forrest was indirectly responsible for the Watergate scandal.
Both Holmes and SBF should have gotten 25 years, minimum. Federal sentencing allows for up to half of the term being reduced for "good behavior". They should both serve a full 25 years.

As a healthcare worker, the Elizabeth Holmes one really burns me up. The thought of testing blood without multiple tubes was life changing, made our jobs easier & I was so excited for it. I went full on Tyra Banks when that scandal broke. "I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU!!! WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!!!!" It WILL happen one day, just not because of her.

I once heard someone say, "It's not a crime unless you get caught." I'm afraid too many people think this way and the people in this video prove it. Of course, I think they knew what they were doing was criminal but didn't really care about that unless they got caught. And, they did.

We're going to have to agree to disagree. If it were life, then you would have a point. But to get out and be young enough to scam folks again? I'm just not buying it. Apparently, she didn't think the same way you do. If that's the case, she wouldn't have committed the fraud in the first place.
Most of these are not even scandals, just their modus operandi, oftentimes well-known or at least suspected of. What you call "scandals" are simply moments when they broke some limit, hurt someone more powerful than them or too many powerful people, and got caught. Politicians or military persons who got caught in extramarital affairs or incessant sexting, that's scandal all right. But that scandal is probably just posing for some other, real reason they got booted. Who gets booted from such a high position cuz of an extramarital affair 🙄 Never harmed Clinton, never harmed Kennedy

I have mixed feelings about Nixon. My parents were Chinese immigrants. So it was thanks to Nixon and his relations with China my parents were able to immigrate to the USA. Leading to me and my brother being born in the USA. When Nixon died when I was in 3rd grade, my mom made me watch his funeral, specifically telling me it’s because of this president you were born here. However Watergate was unforgivable.
What I remember most about Watergate, aside from Nixon's resignation, is that a horse made the cover of many a magazine. It took an animal, the legendary Secretariat, to give us something else to talk about.
