I completely agree with you on how the game gets lack luster once you're fully geared. There's many times I've simply just "ended it" in the middle of the woods to go enjoy looting and not being a big ball of anxiety 🤣
When I’m in this phase of the game, I usually go to coast/tier1 areas and try to help other survivors. (Only attack when provoked) give them food, medicine and stuff :D
I also agree. The journey to get there is what is the most fun. I think it also relates to life. Once you get rich its not as fun as the journey to get there (usually through hard work and sweat).
I have same feeling when playing, thats why official is more enjoyable for me. Beginning is always best, I never run to revenge or get my gear back, instead I start new journey with different approaches
That stone knife tip is probably the best tip I have ever gotten from a Dayz video. I always prefer putting my hunger in my own hands rather than trying to luck out finding food, and along with the snare trap and fishing tip, this is probably the most helpful Dayz video I have ever watched! Keep doing what you're doing!
Great video! Also if you want to craft a stone knife but don't have any necessary tools, you can search around rail tracks and tourist trails, small rocks usually spawn there in great amounts.
It's important to note that the amount is dependent on amount of players in the area and amount of time they spend there. If you show up to a town solo and there are already tons of small stones, there's likely a player nearby. If there is only 0-1 (maybe 2) the town is probably clear.
So I'm going to be buying this game finally at the beginning of October. This channel and soursweet have been instrumental and giving me enough confidence to try and actually play it. Thank you for that
Great to hear, good luck! It can be tough at first, sometimes you get unlucky, meet the wrong people in game, but if you stick with it, the good times will come. I always recommend sticking with it 50 hours, and if you can get there, it starts to get even better.
@@Nitno where? I don't expect it to be easy by any major, I'm going to find it interesting if my own life experiences are going to make it... Easier. What I mean by that is I spent 30 years from 1984 to 2014 as a nomad. Sometimes having to construct my own gear which actually inadvertently turn me into a craftsman by default. Well, necessity I guess. But the crafts in this game, simplified as they are by comparison to the real world. Still definitely intrigued me so.... Here we go
@@Stormpriest Emjoy mate...I'm also an 'older' gamer(58 to be precise) ... This game certainly keeps my retirement from getting boring... See you out there mate...
As a new player the biggest tip I would give is learn where loot spawns and what buildings look like every hospital looks the same every pd looks the same(there's 2 variants) every fire station looks the same etc and it's monumental for finding the correct loot in the right areas just learn what each building type looks like and finding loot gets easy as finding that location on the map going there and finding that building the fun comes in the obstacles that will get in your way like other players getting to the loot first running into hordes of zombies and getting robbed/killed by hostile players
I've never seen a rabbit running around DayZ. If you are NOT using IZurvive maps for full immersion how would you know where to put a snare to be effective.
Ah so its a little weird... Rabbits will only appear after you laid a trap. They used to run around in the open world many moons ago, now it's just "lay a trap, come back in 10-15min, there it is."
Great vid Nitro...I found out an awesome little trick today... I forgot to make the trusty old bandage wrap gloves before cutting up a chicken... My hunger was red growling and I was miles from any water to clean my hands ...I thought 'F*** it ill make the gloves now to see if they cover the blood...It works In fact your hands come up perfectly clean... Shhh dont tell the devs ..😉
I remember the first time I ran into a fully built car Fully Stored with gear. I was just casual running around looting until I came across that. All of a sudden I felt anxiety and fear lol it was great.
One thing i noticed before anyone else, is that, dry food lasts longer than everything else but it kills your hydration just yesterday i had to eat something and accidently smoked the meat instead of cooking it since i was still figuring out how fires and everything works and just said fuck it and ate it my hydration started declining a lot until i got to red i think 20 minutes later and i had to drink so i stupidly drank from a still water pond which made me sick and when i ate too much or drank just a bit of water i vomited so i starved to death trying to get to medication i can not survive in the wild lol
Great vid man. Very informative and great tips for someone like me who's only been playing a little while. Im on console but loving the game. I think the entertainment sweet spot u mentioned is very consistent with survival games. Early to mid game is often the most challenging but also the most fun stage. That raw survival element 😊
Playing solo on a Hardcore server, been alive for about 2 days now. Always open to videos like this, they help so much! (found a fully built car with no spark plug, the anxiety is real)
Im on the opposite side of that coin i get as geared as possible and go back to high traffic areas to set up traps or just troll people thats the great part of the game so many things to do and even better with friends. i can see exactly what you mean tho and i do agree being solo and fully geared feels like there is something missing.
I couldn't agree more on tip 3, being kitted out gets pretty boring because there isn't much else to do after getting fully stacked. I was a bit late to the party on community servers but they just might be more enjoyable than officials. Like the name implies, good community servers usually have an established community behind them, being able to run with a faction and have raid battles keeps the fun going once you get fully decked out
I used to hate being a fresh spawn everything is dangerous, death is just around the corner but now I've played a while fresh to mid is the most fun, nearly ever new find is exciting in the end it's my 4 is still better, early days are definitely more fun..
I’m in the geared = almost boring boat. It’s exciting to only have a few rounds for a rifle and maybe a bat, and hear sombody a house over… Not as fun when I’m a chad with DMR and 20 round mags… then I just feel like I should be looking for a fight. Not surviving…
Don’t catch rabbits, use the metal wire for your base gates. Use the fishing tips to catch fish or kill wild animals, but make sure you use a silencer to not attract unwanted attention. Build closer to the coast, you’re less likely to get raided than up north and you won’t have to run 8km+ to get back to your loot, but I recommend also building a stash base up north when you’re looting the military bases.
Yeah I just started playing and I have some pretty good stuff rn and my brother is so scared to die so we just run around looting and it’s getting boring
Being afraid to lose your character is understandable. The most fun is had when you get passed that feeling. Not easy, but truly when you get used to dying and going again, fresh life is some of the most fun.
Just cleared my first bunker and got a nv helmet and a few new weapons including an aug. it was freshly looted so it wasn’t a big run but got what we needed
Another thing is that its always worth it to check convoy spawns near you and the vehicles can be very far away from eachother and if there are any military vehicles at a convoy spawn there should be more somewhere around them with good loot
Agreed 100%, Im in best stage in DAYZ, SKS, mk2 and hunter cloth, police vest, skater helmet. other thing (VSD, M4, AK101) are going to stash (seems stay there forever...).
I know a better trick for Food. Go into a Wooden area lay down or just stay there for 5-10 Minutes. Depends how laggy an Server is and then Mushrooms spawn. And they give pretty good Water and Food. And u can eat almost everyone. Just read the description of the Mushroom to know.
Duuuuude. I have not died in Dayz in 2 and a half months. I’ve been helping my firmed build out his base. And I’ve run from tilley to electro a couple times a week in order to loot better, but damn I’ve only ever killed one other player in self defense.
The whole reason we love survival games is for the grind. I've had dayz for 3 days and I had an official character that lasted an entire day. I managed to avoid players. I got rushed by a guy with a knife and dipped. I had a single shot shotgun with 1 shell. About 3 hours later I starved. I was living in a black house inside a small neighborhood in a valley. I love this game because it's so challenging
@@Nitno kk I found a handfuld that seems ok. Yeah i only use tdm has like a little warm up, and just to get faster used to movement and shooting, before going to regular servers, it has been like 2 years last time I played dayz if not longer😆😅
I learned more here than any of the other help videos. Im 5 days into playing and I'm about to quit due to starvation being the end of every play through i attempt that doesn't end in a random death screen. Your help is much appreciated.
In order to get myself more acclimated to how the game is played. I went to custom servers where I had a high likely chance of finding survival food. So I can still go out of my way to learn how to build the things I would need when I decided to go and play the real game servers
Ive never been able to do anything at all on this game amd ive been playing for over a year now and i just cant seem to do anything I've never even been able to kill any other players at all and its at this point i just give up and wish i could get my money back for this garbage ass game
