When u live in Florida and binge watch snowboarding videos living vicariously through these guys cause it's hot and you know you'd be a sick snowboarder if you had snow
I always had DUCK position,17 or 19 to the front 15 or 13 degrees in back. Experienced riders say that could blow out your knees!!, so don't land FLAT too much with those binding degrees!!! When I was at high cascade snowboard camp,(HCSC), my counselor, Casey, suggested looking at the nose or tail of your board as a globe, and to position your weight over that globe, and it made sense.
Been watching your videos for months and only just noticed you have the Process Off-axis...which I bought two weeks ago! Has reassured me it was a good choice :) Looking forward to getting her on the Italian slopes next month. Regards from the UK, keep up the good work
I have 2 all mountain boards, and man if it's a job to do any buttering on them. I can pick up the nose a few inches, but getting the tail up is a super chore. Is some of this in the board, and are mine too stiff, or is it because I'm old, lack any athletic ability, and should just go eat a cream puff? Well, the latter no doubt is the greatest factor. Cool channel, and there ain't no reason for Utah and Colorado to shut down lifts over this virus this season.
Nah it's possible to butter on an all mountain board no problem, you just have to find the contact points of your board. One of my snowboards is a 168cm all mountain with a flex rating of 8 (very stiff) yet butters on it are still possible I just need to lean much farther back when I do my presses.
I have 2 boards, one looks like that when I do presses, the other naturally bends easier so it looks cooler for doing these moves. That's actually why I got the second board.
Tip they didnt mention for the tripod : If u maintain a faster speed u have a easier time maintaing it longer and your wont get a ton of snow in ur gloves
I have a Solomon sleepwalker. Not sure if I’m doing this wrong or if it’s the board but whenever I try to butter I just can’t seem to get the front on the board up. If anything it feels like I’m about to pull leg out of my hip socket lmao
Switch butter nose rolls are easier than regular because you're going back to your regular stance which makes it easier to control. I have a symmetrical board and it's not because the tail is softer.
so i just bought a twin shape board. I ride trails and getting into parks. Grew up skateboarding. Would you recommend a truely centered stance or slightly back? i do ride switch a lot. Love you channel!
Hey Kevin. I wonder. Why do you wear the goggle strap under the helmet? My helmet has a catch for the strap so I figured it was meant to be on the outside.
Nice video gus, also chris' gear looks dope :P.....i have one question tough,i saw chris' snowboard isnt elevating as much as keviin's ...it has smth to do with technique or is it just the different flexes on each board?
do i pull up the straight leg thats usually in front or do i move hips and lean back and let that motion pull my leg up by itself like the front leg is just hanging straight.
Hey Kevin I would like to see a video on how to record while snowboarding. Let's get this comment known because I think everyone would like this video too.
Why you don't try 180 nose roll back? I really want to see Kris to do tripod with his stiff bord :-) best regards from Serbia, country of the Novak Đoković ;-)
When they listed the tricks off at the beginning of the video, I thought they began to divulge into a joke saying random things. Low and behold, the damn tricks are actually called tripod, bagel, and pretzel.
Someone knows the video .. 4 girls in a video making snowboard of different nationalities one of them comes out in the video with his little son ... and each in the house drinking wine smoking and taking a little bit of vodzka
The explenations are pretty good, but it would be awesome if you could show all the tricks in slow-motion or stop the video for the tricks to explain it a bit more. I am always just like how the hell did he do that.
It’s super helpful to see someone with skill level a bit closer to my own attempting these butters. So many of these videos have super pro level guys making difficult things look so easy. I found that I was having some trouble with these in a lot of the same ways that Chris was at first, and it was nice to hear the feedback and watch him improve. It really helped me on the hill!
7:16 - This is actually a really good point. Doing drops into steeps, we used to come in switch, and roll over into our normal stance. This actually gives you a much smoother transition, especially if the drop is more than a board length, and let's you get right into a carve. You should try the tripod as a bipod with just the back hand. This is actually what we originally called a tail press.
You guys have been a massive part of my progression from day 1 to now 4 years later learning all the butters on this vid a vid like many of your others Iv rewatched countless times. I only have access to uk indoor slopes but iv finally booked my first trip to shred some real slopes in Chamonix, I’m going armed with a descent bag of tricks to send in the park thanks to snowboardprocamp so I owe you a massive thank you for helping me achieve a passion iv wanted to do since playing cool boarders and ssx as a kid like 25 years ago. 🤟
