I love your videos and these are great tips, but what do you do when it’s like 10 students that don’t listen? This year, the first graders will not freeze to stop working when it’s time for clean up directions. One or two, I can handle, but when it’s about half the class, I just don’t know what to do. Last week it took 12 minutes to clean up from just doing a collage because about half the students don’t listen and refuse to stop working. Do you have any suggestions for that? Thanks in advance!

Good question! I talk with the class about the expectation and disappointment about clean up at the beginning of the next class. When I first taught my clean up procedure we did a fun macaroni and cheese everybody freeze dance from RU-vid. I’ll link my clean up video here it’s one of my favorite videos! If after all the routine and reminders a student is ignoring I firmly say stop and in sign language show the sign and/or I say stop in Spanish. If needed I take away their artwork and tools. I hope that helps! I might be better able to answer your question in a future video. Thank you so much for watching! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oEWlvClfEsI.htmlsi=06RDTNTy4obCX9kG

Taking the artwork away sounds like a good idea. Then i can inform the homeroom teacher that if i have the project, it means the student was not following directions (they are very supportive of behavior management in the specialty classes. Thanks!@@Managingthemess

If you have supportive teachers giving them a report each week might help improve behavior too. This is very effective for all grades at my school ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TRcWNH_QUzk.htmlsi=gRkZYY3xjZdr71bV

Can you do a start to end rehearsal of a class? As if the students are there.

This is a great idea! I have a few videos that give a peek but nothing with the full thing ignoring the camera and teaching showing how I teach students. Here are a few I have that give a glimpse in case you missed them ru-vid.com93n3DK1I3Qc?si=yOiZSq_QfyQC1gpW ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m2JSYXeOgWc.htmlsi=wD5R6YJK5ZamR73n

What do you do if a student doesn't make up all their work?

I let their homeroom teacher and family know. In many cases, I lower their progress report grade unless they have an IEP or special circumstance.

Naturally some students ignore teachers because they don't like that specific subject, but they also will pay attention to the typical beautiful teacher they like the most physically; normally students are horribly misbehaving to old and not so good looking teachers, it sounds horrible, but it's true, students have a kind of natural selection that they use to applaude you or to sabotage your classes, if you are the not so good looking you know why you are here watching this hahahahahahha

I disagree, I think how you treat students and make them feel in your class makes the biggest impact.
