If it’s form fitting trousers, you can do away with a belt. I haven’t won a belt for many years and I’m a waist 30. Not everyone can pull of a belt.

Exactly!! because not only that the waist line of your pants are still visible so it wouldn’t matter if you were a belt or not! The only time that works is if the pants and shirt are the exact same color.🤦🏽‍♂️

As someone who is 5’7” with short stout legs and wears size 11 shoes, I can’t overstate how important it is to wear form-fitting pants. The less excess fabric there is, the better.

Baggy clothes seem to be making a return but the short people would always struggle to pull it off. Form fitting clothes would always prevail.

Definitely agree with what you said here! Although I’m not a short king, these concepts discussed apply to all men! For those who worry about pant length and don’t have the funds needed for constant tailoring, a simple fix would be to buy pants with short length. For example, I do not wear pants with length any longer than 30 inches for most of my pants, dress & casual, or I’ll go MAX 28-29 inches on length. Some brands I would suggest are Haggars (who are very spot on with pant definition), Haband Men’s Executive Division line, and Walmart’s George Brand (trust me, don’t sleep on them).

I agree with most of this but I have to disagree with wearing a belt. In some cases it’s needed but good point about the width. I also have to disagree with the shirt being untucked. Some casual shirts don’t look right tucked in. The point made about shirts sitting at the waist to about mid crotch, one of the previous vids, is on point and I follow that one even though I’m short.

The whole tucking in shirts thing is ridiculous anyway. Unless ,of course, you're wearing a suit, or you have the physique to pull it off. Little boys have their shirts tucked in courtesy of mum or dad, but grown ass men really oughta know better. And the only shirts that can be worn sensibly untucked are short-sleeved ones. Don't get me started on tucked in short-sleeved shirts!!

Well Mr Jeff the style OG. I think you should wear a belt to have a more put together look especially for older men. Unless you are wearing a jogging suit that requires No belt. Reason being for some reason it seems the belt pulls together the shoes and if you're wearing a hat. It makes the whole outfit look more complete. That's just my opinion. You give the greatest advice to many of us men who are looking for new styles and how to dress age appropriate. Thank you very much for your insight! Keep doing what you do! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾👍🏾

What type of Jeans would you recommend for short gius? I know you mentione bunched up but hwat would be better to wear in terms of slim fit, straight fit etc. im a short guy (very short, 5ft 3...) but i have huge thighs. I was told as a short guy to wear slim fit jeans but when i do i find they restrict my genitals and thighs and are very uncomfortable. I switched to straight fit and they are comfortable but they do make me look shorter as they bunch up around my ankles!

I would add to that stay away from horizontal stripe shirts! they cut your body in half clearly making you look shorter. Vertical lines are much better.

I disagree on the shoes. If I wear slim soles, it will not make me look taller. It will make my feet look gigantic compared to the rest. A bulkier shoe makes the flow from my feet up look more stable. And its true, I cant wear long coats. It will look like I ran outside wearing a blanket.

@@gregorymackey103 yea I am short and somehow have a size 9.. flat shoes just make my feet look gigantic and then the proportions just clash. With a bulkier shoe my feet look less gigantic compared to the rest, it improves the proportions. I guess for skinny short people with small feet it would work with slimmer shoes, but when the feet are regular sized or the smaller person isnt very skinny, a mote bulky shoe helps.

@@gregorymackey103 yea it also adds to the hight on its own. But for me the biggest factor is really that it just makes my feet less gigantic. And when your feet look gigantic compared to the rest of the body, you will look shorter very quickly. I have a size US9 and am 166cm tall. Maybe if I had a 7 a flatter shoe would have been fine. But at 9? It really doesnt. I have seen people that are my length but have like EU39 or EU40 (im EU42.5) and their feet stick out way less than mine. Another thing that works for me is straight fit jeans, so not skinny, not slim.. but also not wide. But thats preference. I just learned to dress based on what works for my proportions. Usually trying to sort of make my feet look shorter. But I also stay away from long coats, because the coat that is meant to be above the knees is near the ankles for me. It will just look like I went out of bed and took my blanket in the morning. So always a short coat.

I like these! For best, I’ll suggest natural, sensitive skin detergents. Best toothpaste is subjective, but I would suggest fluoride-free toothpaste. Believe it or not, fluoride toothpaste actually hurts your teeth in the long run.

He's correct about belt. You need pants that are without belt loops if you're going to go no belt,. otherwise, you look silly, like you left your belt at home wearing pants with belt loops and no belt. They are called Gurkha pants.

I got these pair of dress pants that have an inner lining that made it stick to my dress shirt when tucked in, so I didn’t need a belt. I wore them to two or three events without the belt, and you would have thought I was a five year old the way everyone kept telling me I must have left my belt at home, or where is my belt? Then, I discovered Gurkha pants! Dope af! And they give off a 1950’s to 60’s vibe. Now, when I go out with them on, no one asks where my belt is, they asked where I got the pants.👍🏽

Wow, the year is 2024, and we are still fuelling insecurities instead of nurturing the simple fact that it is OK to be you, in this case, tall or average or short. Please stop. Dress how you like, you will never please everyone, and it'll help to filter out toxic people who can't accept a mundane thing about you, how you dress.
