I’m 73 and it’s been a while since I was a child, but every time I see you flitting a scarf around I can smell the sweet aroma of my mother’s scarf drawer. I can’t remember her ever wearing one, just me happily playing with them.
For the last 2 years I have been going to estate sales and antique stores buying lot of things including many vintage scarfs. I did not know how to wear them, so I am glad I came across your video!
Honestly, Diana, your smile and quirky personality elevate anything you wear and any video you create. All your tips and tricks awe fun and interesting!
You are so subtly funny and entertaining! I wouldn’t have enjoyed the video as much with out your. Personality shining through. So, thank you for the cheer up.😊
Diana!!.... I've been getting so many compliments just lately.... Have I radically changed my wardrobe I hear people ask..... No, I have not.....I have started adding silk scarves to my outfits! I've bought a few from Vinted. I don't quite have your collection, but I'm sure I will buy more. 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you! 💕💕💕 Ps. I'm in the uk, otherwise I would definitely buy your scarves.
In the 80s..we wore scarves as belts on a solid colored sheath type or t-shirt type dress to the office. We loved it. Also we all know scarves have made a comeback around ponytails and buns my young adult daughter does this and looks great!
I really enjoyed this, even more than part 2 (which I saw first). The braided wristband/headband is inspired! There’s one way we wore scarves in the 70s and early 80s that I haven’t seen in any scarf video yet, and I’ve watched many. You fold a square scarf in half to make a triangle. You have the triangle pointing down on one hip, and tie the scarf round your waist. So there’s a knot at one side and on the other the point of the triangle sits on the side seam. Very pretty over a plain skirt, or a plain scarf over a patterned skirt.
One of the things I love most about your videos, aside from the ideas you are sharing, is that you have fun with it, and don't take yourself so seriously. I love it. We all need to lighten up a bit. My neck is very short so I have to be careful what kind of scarf I wear, and how I wear it. I appreciated having additional ideas, and after this I will watch Part 2 of your scarf video. Thanks!
Hi, Diana, you are a Godsend! I've always wondered why every time I wear a silky scarf around my neck, I look older and neckless. My neck is short, but I love scarves, and finally some one is addressing this problem. You are so creative, and have given me many ideas on how I can make my scarves work for me. Thank you so much!
I had a friend who would wrap one around the top of one of boot, it was leopard print & looked so cool. I love silk scarves & want to wear them more often and in every way including my neck and hair.
Oh gosh that is a blast from the past. I use to wear a scarf around my boot as a teenager in the 80's. It made me feel like a rock star. LOL Thanks for the reminder.
“If that’s my purses neck… nobody knows” 😂. You crack me up! Love all these ideas. I’m not much of a scarf person (living in south Florida and perpetually hot anyways), but you gave me some ideas should I ever decide to add scarves to my wardrobe.
@@unblahyourself I've always been too frugal to buy "designer", but I fell in love with a Johnny Was blouse that kept popping up in a Neiman Marcus ad on the edge of my email page. It was just under $200 on sale - originally almost 300. That was more than I'd ever spent on anything to wear. There was just no way I could justify it. Eventually I decided I was worth a splurge. I bought it, and I'm not sorry, lol. It's gorgeous and timeless and worth every penny. But I'd prefer to have found it in a thrift store! What a great find that beautiful scarf was!
I have so many tanks and tank dresses that I rarely wear because I hate my upper arms. And a drawer full of lovely scarves. I love this first option!!!
Your comments, your kittens, and your videos always make me smile. Thanks for all the good ideas in this one. I struggle with scarves around my neck (feel like they are going to choke me), so this is great. I can't wait until part 2.
The purple “bracelet” is actually a crocheted chain! I was just gifted a huge scarf with tasseled corners, and going to try it as a shoulder wrap soon!!
I love your videos! Your style ideas, your thrifting, and your normal-ness. It makes me more confident that I can do some of these things and still up my elegances em. 😀
You like the word ‘ensemble’ because it’s French! 😁 The off-white scarf as a belt looks fabulous. I love that purple scarf, and especially on your head! The last scarf is also gorgeous on you. So many great scarves, and silk is my favorite material for them too, never too hot, yet keeps the neck and chest warm when needed, and of course adds pizzaz, or je ne sais quoi when worn so creatively. Bravo!
Hi Diana,👋 I enjoyed watching how you style your scarfs. Very creative!😆 I love your sense of humor and your positive mindset. Love from the Netherlands ❤ Wilma.
These scarves are beautiful, especially the ones you’ve got in your store! I probably can’t afford them, and don’t use them enough to buy one, but I love them 😍
I love this video & I love scarves ❤ I have collected so many...inherited, gifted, thrifted...I never remember to include them in my "ensemble" but that changes TODAY! Just found you & subscribed bc how could I not subscribe to a channel called 'Unblah Yourself'?? 😂 That's also what I'm saying to my mirror from now on those "certain" days 😅
Your esprit and style is simply catching, would love to order a scarf from you for my girlfriend. I'd like to to invite her on her first convertible ride but she's got very sensitive skin, especially on her face. That's why it would be truly inspiring if you could show some ways how to tie and combine different sizes and designs of your scarves as head- and faceprotective styles, maybe in one single video? 🙏. Keep up your great work and enthuisam!
I love you and your scarves and your creative sense of style SO much but I live in the very hot humid gulf coast area of the country so no scarves around my neck until the random cool day in the dead of winter. Thanks for the scarf 'tricks' I can use and stay cool and elevate (levitate?) my style. Great video.
I just love your videos. I picked up an Ann Taylor silk scarf for $2.99 at Goodwill today. I can't wait to add it to my pile of thrifted clothes for my Spain/Portugal cruise in November. I'm gonna look so stylish!!!! Thank you.
Great ideas! I enjoyed your presentation, but I would have really liked to see what it looks like from behind when you are using it over your shoulders.
Oh! I love that bold scarf! Bold cool colors works best on me! I've tied scarves around my purses before. I'd love to make some sleeves though! I'd forgotten how to do it.
Thank you so much for this video! I have a short neck and scaves sometime make my neck hurt! These are such creative ideas, and I am going through my scarf drawer right now!
Here's another one: tie a narrow, long scarf on the strap of your cami: let it flow in front of you and behind you. Also, take a small scarf and tie it around the band of your hat..... but a long, flowing one on your hat (a la Audrey Hepburn) is even more glorious as it wafts behind you when you walk. How about tied like an obi over a silk kimono to keep it closed? Or instead of a belted blazer, belt it with a scarf. Or how about draped over your hip like a sarong on a slinky dress? SOOO many ways to enhance (not elevate :D) an outfit. Oh! Don't forget to tie it around your ponytail, or wrap it around your head like a turban!
that last blue and purple print scarf is gorgeous, but not on you. i know you know this is because you are a warm toned person. the scarf is for a cool tone. like me. lol. that very last scarf with reds and orange? chef's kiss on you, girl !
Great ideas as always Diana! I just thought of another one that I used to do, a necklace 😮 I would just use a long silk scarf hold one end and twist with the other and either wrap around once or twice depending on how long I wanted it, I liked it, I’m going to give it a go again, see you tomorrow😃Suze
Scarves hide a LOT of style sins. Esp when youre sick, or extremly fatigued. I live with physical disabilities and chronic pain, and i have weeks where basic self care just isnt on my wish list. So - I have found creative ways to hide sloppy dressing with wool hats and bright scarves. I have very long hair, and at times its too hard to care for in the way i would like, and scarves help hide a lot of lazyiness! And it always generates conversation as in Australia - this type of European dressing is rather rare. you had great advice and ideas!
I have a largish scarf tied to my purse pretty much at all times "just in case". I can use it as sun protection outside, or to protect from a chill in those stores that go a little too insane with their AC. In a pinch I've also used it as a spare bag (look up Japanese furoshiki techniques).
Really fun video; it reminded me of how I used to sneak into my mother's room and dress up in all her scarves as a child. Great ideas for using my own collection now. Also, how old is the room where you're shooting the video? I love old buildings!
I don't wear scarves for a myriad of reasons, short neck, older chin, and Isadora Duncan. However, it's nice to have some other options rather than wearing around my neck. I do have a couple of scarves languishing in my closet. And, yes, scones over shrimp chips everyday.
How about a small one tied around your blouse strap and dangle down. Love your edgy personality! I just found you and happy I did! See ya next week! Sending you some love from extremely hot & humid 108° SW Florida 😰😎☀️🌴❤
Great ideas! But I think the colors that you think are too bold are actually too cool for your skin. You definitely look best in warm colors. That red one is perfect for you. I love wearing scarves, but it south Texas, it's too hot in the summer. But maybe I'll put one on my purse instead of my neck!
I’m probably too short (5’1” last time I checked, and that was a while ago) to wear scarves as belts. Horizontal lines and all that. BUT I love to do it anyway!
@@krisdoor6905 A lot of people tell me that I am a soft autumn but I do believe that I am a soft summer as well and I look best in grayish silvery blue tones. That is definitely the scarf I am working on next!
