I really enjoyed "Legion". Bettany played a cool protagonist and the story was not run-of-the-mill. Think "The Terminator" meets "Dawn of the Dead". Also, the ice cream guy was creepy AF!
I agree. I really liked it. It was goofy, weird, and while not high brow entertainment, a good popcorn movie to watch with friends. The ice cream guy is a stand out, and played by the remarkable Mr. Saru (ST: Discovery)...I mean Abe Sapien (Hellboy)...I mean Doug Jones.
I appreciate the "Constantine" shoutout. That movie doesn't get enough love. Also, "See No Evil" was such a great throwback to 80's slashers. And I loved the "Speed Racer" movie. All and all, excellent list.
As a day one Resident Evil game fan that now owns almost every main game and spin-off game in the franchise, I can tell you... YES! YES it helped that you never played the games. LOL
The movies are great, except the last one. And only because it didn't continue the previous story. The games, well, I stopped at 3. And stopped caring after 5. Anyway, Resident Evil 4 was awesome in 3D in theaters. Resident Evil 2 is the best out of the games, Claire Redfield is the most badass out of them all.
It is but the one thing I did like is the fight between wesker and Claire and her brother in the movie mirrored the fight with wesker in the game resident evil five
@@killharrypothead die hard fan too. Agree last one, with conclusion trying to convey reason was suck... Never watch the last one it would give unpleasant taste for other prev. Atleast others where could be able to put as future unknown plot
Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift is one of the best seeing as how it has the most street racing in the whole series, has the most attention put into the cars and contains the best car in the whole series. The best story still goes to Fast and Furious 1.
I loved Legion but it was basically a Termiator movie by way of The Prophecy. All of these are great choices for a quiet Friday night with drinks and friends.
@Alex Townley totally agree! Love olympus has fallen and the 2 sequels. White House down sounds like someone has called their dog white house and telling him to behave! 😂
Tokyo Drift may not be as good or action pack as Fast 5-F9, but it does follow the principal on which F&F was based on, street racing. On top of that we were introduced to Han who became such a key part to the franchise, Tokyo Drift had to be brought back into a large role upon his death and resurrection. While not as memorable as The Fast & The Furious or 2 Fast 2 Furious, Tokyo Drift is still a good film that would be more loved if it wasn't associated with F&F early on.
I always liked the reboot of Total Recall -- definitely not as much as the original but felt like there were many good ideas and scenes. Hulk was a good origin story with bad cgi and played with heart by Eric Bana and everyone involved. Even Diehard 4 was a fun escape from reality. A lot of my friends consider them terrible, but I still watch them from time to time and view them in a higher regard. Ps. Do a list for excellent movies that were actually terrible soon, Josh....I'd be interested in that discussion, too🙂!
Most of these movies were only meant to be a good old popcorn flick aren't meant to be taken to seriously just sit back eat some candy and enjoy that's why they don't get any love lol
I'm actually proud to say I've seen every one of these movies. And I totally agree with Matthew McConaughey's performance in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4. I remember renting that movie back nvhs times. It's what got me respect for that actor other than A Time to Kill.
10) WHD was dumb, but it was an entertaining kind of dumb. I'll gladly take it over OHF. 9) It was not a truly bad movie. Sandman was done well, and Symbiote Spiderman was actually not that bad. Yes, the dancing is cringeworthy, but it is supposed to be - you are supposed to hate what the symbiote has done to Spiderman, so you are elated when he finally gets it off of him (Venom still sucked, though, but he kind of always had, even before the movie). 8) It was interesting to say the least. If you maintain an open mind for the supposed source material, it can be entertaining. 7) Not a particular fan of horror or slasher movies, but if there is any real chance of something interesting in a genre, it tends to be in horror and/or slasher movies. 6) If you like the Crank movies (or at least the first one), you'll probably like this one. 5) It sounds so weird that you just have to watch it, even if only to see it for yourself. 4) It was pretty much an attempt to condense the latest RE games up to then into a movie, with (to me, at least) a particular focus on RE 5, which is a perfectly functional but otherwise bland game (was upset that there was no boulder-punching, though). 3) It was such a faithful adaptation that it ended up working against itself (at least at the box office). Still something to watch. 2) Mostly for Matthew's performance. 1) A fairly good street racing movie, especially how drifting was started in Japan, so it actually makes sense to set it there. Unlike the expansive US, where speed and power usually reigns (and often directly causes deaths), Japan is much more cramped and winding, so it is agility that critical to not just victory but to avoiding death. It really can feel very high-stakes, just in a slightly different way.
I agree completely in regards to #9- Spider Man 3 remains far better than Any of the so called ‘Amazing’ Spider-Man movies that followed Sam Raimi’s first three Spidey movies. Spider-Man 3 even presented Gwen Stacy and her father, Capt. George Stacy (and James Cromwell actually looks the part).
@@rocky1169pt oh yeah it's the weakest, but the third one usually is. BTTF 3, Matrix 3, ROTJ, TROS, Star Trek 3. Weirdly enough the third SW prequel is the strongest.
Man, I *loved* "Legion". But then again, I think "Blair Witch 2" is a misunderstood ... well, not masterpiece, but certainly not the festering pile of dung everyone makes it out to be. So what would I know?
Totally agree with Tokyo Drift! I'd also throw Transformers: Dark Of The Moon in there too. Is it stupid? Yes. Is it beautifully rendered and pure fun? Yes!
Speed Racer and Tokyo drift are smart dumb movies and 100% enjoyable. 2 of my favourites. Cowboys vs Aliens, the Mummy and battleship are in the same league for me.
Man I really like Speed Racer. It is so unrated and it was an amazing adaptation. It really felt like a great tribute to the original series. The action scenes were fantastic and still keep up today.
Yes. Every movie mentioned is, well, some deserved this list- others I was honestly shocked that people didn't like straight up! Except Barb Wire- can't push plastic that far 🙃
I really liked Legion. I had not heard any of the bad press before I watched it, and in fact was surprised that it was in this list. I thought it was awesome!
I liked Legion and the spin-off TV show. Spiderman 3 had its moments, but I draw the line at Transporter 3. It's such a step-down in quality over the first 2. Speed Racer however is up their with best things the Wachowski's have ever made alongside the OG Matrix, V and Sens8.
The Resident Evil movies get better the older they get, I find, as does Legion and Constantine(never read the comic, so I loved it when it came out), and Tokyo Drift, being the last one actually about cars and driving,is great.
I love your honesty. Movies are made to entertain and help you forget the real world for abit. Peoplsneed to remember that. These movies do that. Not every movie made is not made to win an Oscar. IT'S ENTERTAINMENT. Enjoy and have fun.
Lucas Black was in two of these? Cool! Speed Racer has the actor who plays Thursday in Endeavor, the series about young Inspector Morse. He's a superb.
Tokyo Drift is actually my favorite Fast and Furious movie. I also loved Legion so much it made me dig into other angelic/demonic stuff (including Constantine).
One of best quotes A movie can be BAD A movie can be so bad it's Good A movie can be bad , but interesting But a movie can commit an universal crime..only and only if The Movie is BORING These movies ain't boring. This quote is wrietern by me..the future director
some generally considered "terrible" movies I think are at least fun if not better than people think: Daredevil ( seriously, go with the director's cut ) Fantastic Four ( it's cheesy fun and the chemistry between the 4 heroic leads make them feel like a real family ) DoA: Dead or Alive ( just dumb cheesy fun ) Street Fighter ( also just dumb cheesy fun, but with Raul Julia delightfully devouring the scenery ) Surf Ninjas ( dumb hilarious fun ) Ghost Rider ( cheesy fun with Nick Cage's impeccable overacting ) Suicide Squad ( it has major pacing issues, but it's a fun ride ) Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ( cheesy fun and Angelina Jolie is decent as Lara )
Honestly never understood why anyone would prefer White House Down over Olympus Has Fallen. I know they're not masterpieces but Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx are sooooo much worse than Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart in these films!
Two more "horrible" movies that were awesome, Nick Cages Drive Angry and Clive Owens Shoot Em' Up.. both are movies of one protecting "saviors of the world" but are just fun flicks..
"White House Down was lame, because it tried to be funny, and Channing Tatum can't act! Olympus Has Fallen was so much better. It also spawned 2 sequals, but they weren't as good as the first. Thank God, there was no sequal to "White House Down".
Should retitle this video "10 Medicore Movies You Could Watch but we'll Spoil it for you First!" how do you justify trying to get people to watch something after explaining everything and showing clips....
I quite liked Speedracer. Now for one terrible movie that is NOT awesome: Battlefield Earth. You know how some movies are so bad that they're good? Not Battlefield Earth. It's just bad.
Spiderman 3 is a blockbuster, the number speaks for itself. Idc, I love it. And if the real White House were that easy to infiltrate with only 1 insider involved, it would have happened alot by now. And Barb Wire and Speed Racer were a great guilty pleasure movie and already a classic. Lastly, Legion is not terrible at all.
Speed Racer is FAR from a "terrible film". and TCM:TNG is better than it? open a window, WhatCulture, the carbon monoxide in your room is off the charts.
I love speed Racer and just because a movie is bad to some people does not mean that there are not people put there that do like the movie because there are. A few examples of movies I like that do get hate from some people is the live action Transformers movies and the first 2 live action G.I Joe movies. The original Speed Racer cartoon is a Japanese Anime and a manga from the 60s called Mach GoGoGo. And it seems like there are a lot movies that I and others like those are the movies that everyone seems to hate on and is underrated. Even tho there are people that likes the movies those people gets unnoticed. Just because the movie did not do well at the box office and movie critics gives the movies bad reviews and people that think their opinions are the only ones that is important does not mean that the movies are all that bad and that there are not people out there that do love the movies because there are. Everyone has there own likes and dislikes Just because some people claim it sucks others don't.
oh hell no. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is absolute dogshit and the only truly terrible one. while most of the others are dumb fun, this one is just downright garbage and does so much wrong.
I actually like most of the films on this list. I do have one complaint about Resident Evil: Afterlife. I saw it in theaters and the 3D was wonky for me. It looked like the foreground people and things were cardboard cutouts moving around. Maybe it's just me.
Yeah, the CGI after-effects version of 3D that nearly every studio used at that time was terrible and will probably be considered a black-eye in cinema history.
"A fun movie, not a good movie" describes a good portion of my home video collection. Speed Racer gets played regularly as background noise and popcorn entertainment. I'd add Priest to this list as an alternative to Legion. Prophecy (with Christopher Walken) also worth a shout out in that vein.
Enough with The Godfather III slander. Yes, Sofia Coppola belongs in the Razzie hall of fame but other than that its a very very solid film. Sure not like I and II, but still a decently made send off.
I actually loved a lot of these! Legion and Constantine for show, Tokyo Drift, Spiderman 3 and the Res Eve movies were all fun films. Transporter 3 wasn't the best, but was definitely better than refueled. I liked Barb Wire too.
