Give me a breath of the wild like open world, with dense dungeons like twilight princess, and a skyward sword level story.

I just want to see link wear the green tunic again.

I think a way to work classic dungeons into an open world could be to have tiers of them. Both recent Zelda games gave you the full kit you needed to do just about everything right at the start. Every dungeon was designed with it being possible you go there first. I think by creating tiers of dungeons where you do a set of dungeons and then a major story beat happens before you open up a new tier of dungeons designed with the tools you got from the first dungeon in mind would be good.

I just want a darker Zelda title like Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess, but a different story. Preferably not another open world.

Exploring the first Great Calamity I think is something every Zelda fan would like to see since the Ancient Hero’s Aspect.

They should do a Skyrim-like game, where you have a big open world and there are plenty of settlements and dungeons/caves to explore, also they should continue the depths idea, just make it more flavorful and have NPCs down there you can interact with. As for the villain, I don’t care if they do Ganondorf or some new boss that wreaks havoc, but it would be cool if most of the map wasn’t just ruins.

Return of a fan favorite character, Midna for instance.

My personal pipe dream? Ocarina remake, nothing but graphics and ui touchups EXCEPT... a Breath/Tears map to replace Hyrule Field.

Nintendo needs to make a sequel to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to tie up loose ends TOTK left us.

I want the Oracle games to be remade instead of Minish Cap. CD-i already did the idea of a playable Zelda. To be fair that is one of the better ideas they had. I have heard what Ocarina of Time Link would sound like if he sang. I'm not against it. I have seen fan made videos like a western version of Zelda where Link is still silent. 8:31 I can't take that face seriously >:D.

I'd like to see a remake of original 1980's Legend of Zelda. In Links Awakening or some HD2D style of graphics. #OGZeldaRemake. I'd be stoked if next Direct they teased it with original intro music, black screen and words "Where it all began". Then show 10 seconds of gameplay.

It seems like they could use the current map and overlay a Twilight Realm on to it. Gannon coming back from twilight or soething like that. Start off in the relatively safe sky and venture down. Twilight deeps could be a place of true nightmares.

I want Link to wear his iconic green tunic again in the next Zelda game. And I've wish that he could talk. Hope Nintendo gets the message.

Great video! A agree with many of the points covered. For me, I'd love to see a playable Zelda and have the story taken to another Kingdom. Maybe even encounter another Princess and another Hero. A completely new Kingdom :)

Imo the developers of ToTK lost the opportunity to put Zelda as a playable character in all the subterranean part of the game. Zelda is a researcher in this game. Would be so cool to see her making discoveries about the ancients, and doing so they could avoid the silly time travel dragon changing sequences.

If in being of movie, link could talk but his voice box get damaged so he can't speak anymore

the temples in tears are way too simple compared to the divine beasts. i like the temple aesthetic but its ruined when i finish the temple in less than 10 minutes with little to no difficulty.

One idea I would love to see, Take a page out of samurai Jack, Link is facing Ganon and is about to win but throws Link way into the future, where Ganon rules all, it would be bad, people would be miserable, monsters everywhere, so Link would have to travel to the past, each Dungeon would be a different Era of time and themed around that era, Link also happens to lose his master sword and shield when he was originally sent to the future, so Link has to get his Gear back, travel backwards in time, learn new techniques that he would have never lived to see and finally make it back to Ganon

They need to do a Twilight Princess Spin-Off, maybe have new bosses? Maybe have playable Zelda, and Ganon unlockable? Kinda like Mario games where you can unlock Bowser.

I have this fantasy in my head that Nintendo teases us and shows the Legend of Zelda title on a screen and then “Zelda” fades away to become “Hylia” in a game where we get to play as Hylia as she is depicted in Skyward Sword, but in a BOTW style open world.

A sequel type game to the likes of Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess, with the same dark undertones, would be something to look forward to in a future installment. Or perhaps a game set during the time of when the villain Demise was coming into power and set in motion of how Link, Zelda and Ganondorf were forever connected upon the defeat of Demise.

For the next open world Zelda game, I want a continuation of the Wild Era where Link, Zelda and the Sages (Sidon, Tulin, Riju and Yunobo) set out on an exploration of foreign lands outside of Hyrule by sea since Penn and Sidon’s wife Yona are foreigners. Let alone bringing back Kass since our favorite NPC is absent in TOTK. some players have a theory that he travelled to other lands to spread the ancient songs and the tale of “the hero and the princess” That’s something Nintendo and the Zelda team should take note on!

The storytelling was an issue in BOTW and TOTK, that's true. Watching the same cutscene of the Imprisoning War every time you finished a dungeon was quite annoying. I hope Nintendo deals with this issue in a TOTK sequel by showing that cutscene ONCE at a late point in the game. Also, i hope to see Demise make a comeback in the future. He was responsible for all the crap the many links in the zelda-timeline had to suffer through, after all. But yes, a new villain is cool. And the mysterious continent in "decayed Hyrule" is sure something Nintendo NEEDS to explain! What is it? Who lives there? Is there more than just Hyrule? ME. NEED. ANSWER!!!!

I would love to see a hybrid game combining elements from TOTK and BOTW, featuring time travel and incorporating the storyline and characters from Age of Calamity. Rather than a direct sequel, it could be a creative remix that takes advantage of the many assets available. While I anticipate a TOTK DLC for the Switch 2, we might also see remakes, spin-offs, and even 2D versions similar to Metroid or a top-down perspective. These could keep us entertained until a reboot eventually arrives!

Yea.....the Link talking thing shouldn't happen/if it DOES happen then he should say very little. It's been stated time after time Link is NOT mute we just dont hear him talk since its more of a player assertion thing to include that the player makes up what Link sounds like and what he says when multiple dialogue options are present. ALSO adding onto that Daruk says Link is quiet but is similar to how a tough guys actions speak louder than his words. A feature I want back that wasnt in this video, let us name our "Links" save file again, or give us multiple again. and a side note that most RPG have now but I think COULD MAYBE fit Zelda franchise....allow us to change genders or race??? IDK that one might be a dumb one. (adding onto this imagine the hero of time is a female ten from the Gerudo region instead of a Hylian

I think the new game will be awesome

Fans have been dying for a playable Zelda since Skyword Sword. And it would’ve been a great way to make it happen in Tears of the Kingdom since the story itself is divided into two. Personally I wanted to see more of her journey to the distant past since we only get glimpses, learn more about the Zonai, providing background to Ganondorf’s character, some info on the Ancient Sages, and more. A companion story would of been a great DLC for TOTK if not the cancellation decision Fujibayashi and Aonuma had made in the 2023 Game Awards.

I would like to see a more expansive wind waker take. Like a Zelda with an Assassin's Creed: Black Flag vibe. I think that would be cool.

In my opinion, Horizon Forbidden West and Horizon Zero Dawn took the Breath of the Wild format and perfected it. For the next Zelda game, they could do something similar as well as add other features both old and new. What I'm talking about is an open world with deadly enemies where you can craft consumable items and ammunition. Top that with the classic Zelda weapons like the sword and hookshot that do not degrade. Add the option to upgrade your weapons with their own separate upgrade trees so that your link will be forever different than your friend's. As for the dungeons, like the Horizon series' cauldrons, you can have dungeons that feel like classic Zelda dungeons in an open world. If you wish to expand on this, add different routes to each dungeon with varying difficulties. Finally, as far as the story goes, make it as dark as Twilight Princess but engaging enough to draw in new players. A neat feature would be to allow you to attempt the dungeons in any order with the story and final boss changing greatly depending on the order you do them in. Honestly, I'd be most happy revisiting the Era of Twilight and getting either a sequel or prequel to Twilight Princess. Just, I'm begging you Nintendo, leave the BoTW art style and make your shading closer to the real world. That art is really what I hated about the Era of the Wilds games the most.

Valley of the Flood. That was the most excited I ever got for any Zelda rumor since it needed to adhere to the groundwork laid by Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. If they made something in that vein, they could make Zelda the main protagonist, since the Hero of Time effectively no longer exists in that part of the timeline. It would have a downer ending, for sure, but I think it would be compelling as hell. They could even optimize parts of Ocarina’s world and show us what happened to it after the flood. It won’t happen, though, so I guess I’ll continue to dream 😅

If there's REALLY going to be a Brand New Zelda game coming up soon, I Absolutely want Ganondorf himself to be the Official Main Antagonist in the game!

The JPN version of BOTW and TOTK shows Link does speak and wrote his thoughts on the journey entry. Thus, his feelings for Zelda. Here’s an example after collecting the final memory: “Even if it’s just a moment sooner, I want to save her as quickly as possible. I want to see her smile again, with these eyes (of my own)."

Personally, I'd love to finally see Wind Waker on a console I own, or see Oracle of Ages get the Link's Awakening treatment.

Same graphics and physics engine, but set in a different land. Link accompanies Zelda on a diplomatic mission and things go away. Would like TP or MM vibes. Darker and weirder.

I just want traditional dungeons back to be honest. Can keep the open world and that, but the mini-temples of TotK and the divine beasts of BotW did not cut it for me.

the new map will be opening the border mountains of the Hyrule map. making the 3 more quadrants available. setting all of the series maps into one massive Zelda-verse. imagine if the current map is just a kingdom available on the lower right of the entire Pangaea map of their world.

This is how the "Link speaks" thing is gonna go: he more likely than not will speak in the upcoming movie and much how they released Mario Wonder right after to cash in on the popularity of the Mario movie, there will likewise be a smaller Zelda spin-off to do the same. Thats the game where Like will speak for the first time and depending on its reception could change the tradition forever. Edit: obviously I wrote this before finishing the whole video. I would like to see a mmorpg version of The Legend of Zelda however it’s not like trifoce heroes but more action and true dungeons that you have to grind through and with temples that takes weeks to master but it can be completed both alone or with a group. That would be awesome.

Needs to also get rid of the “upgraded storage space”. Like nah just give me the master sword and let me upgrade it to be indestructible again and same with the shield. Do away with the korok seeds. Bad idea all around.

Maybe have Sheik return since it was technically Zelda. Have Sheik and Link work together.... Also I would love to see The story of Twilight Princess be revisited... base the game in the world of Twilight completely.

Just gave Zelda a different set of abilities from Link and she's ready to go as a playable character. Hell, Ocarina of Time was the perfect opportunity for a playable Zelda since they could have done with Sheik what Resident Evil 4 does with Ada Wong.

Just give me actual dungeons back. And no, Totk’s dungeons didn’t improve anything just by calling them “temples”. In fact, they were even less interesting without the structural manipulation, even if it may have gotten annoying at times. Gimme a labyrinth with a cool dungeon item again!

I think with one of the issues if Link spoke is an accent, as some people really hate certain voices, I remember someone calling himself Arlo, changed the language to Spanish, as he hated the English speaking.

We need a Game about Zelda save Link instead Link save Zelda. I mean the tittle is "Legend of Zelda" and many people in the past (not player) called Link as Zelda.

Nintendo must do a partnership with FromSorftware and make a Souls-like game... it would be awesome!! you can choose between races (Hylian, goron, Gerudo, Zora, Twili, etc) each one with unique battle styles and story lines with different endings to achieve!

The best thing about the Zelda series is that we just don't know. Whatever it is will be decisive in the build-up and finish like a perfect Zelda game we couldn't imagine not getting. The Hero of Time time-line would be my first choice, but as for the style of game, it's anyone's guess.

Hopefully they go back to the styles of WW, TP, and OoT

TOTK is way too big, having 3 "floors" of open world left too much to explore and feels like something I'll complete in a few years

I would love to play as a different race in a Zelda spinoff, like how Majora's let you be a deku/goron/zora, but more fleshed out as it would specify a single race. Playing as a Ruth and being able to actually fly would be cool. Don't get me wrong, I love link and his never-ending stoicism but the way combat was handled in BOTW and TOTK kinda got stale for me.

Ok Don't get me wrong I LOVED Tears of the kingdom But I kinda feel this was a miss opportunity To bring Demise, Ghirahim And the Goddess Hylia back This version of Ganon ( in both BOTW & TOTK) Felt so different Like SUPER op I was hoping this was leading to a big epic final battle against Demise. Like Link, Zelda And even Ganondorf Free themselves from the curse That it was the end of Demise Influence And the beginning of a new age Where the formula would completely change Like the recreation of Ganondorf Is a Ally Or we don't follow Link and zelda story But their child/children Facing whole new evil forces! If Nintendo decides to use the BotW/TotK engine again, I'd live to see a "Hyrule Builders"-type game. Ganondorf is defeated, the Princess is saved...and Hyrule is a bloody _wreck._ As Link and/or Zelda, you traverse the land that's now full of Sky Island remains that had fallen after TotK to rebuild the once-mighty kingdom. Speak to various peoples to slowly expand and build-upon habitable land (as in, recruit Gorons to open/rebuild roads & mine the depths for resources, recruit the Rito to survey the lands for the best ore/mineral locations, recruit from every race for rebuilding all the destroyed settlements Tarrey Town-style with each race having their own aesthetics and cost/benefits (Hylians being average across the board, Zora being excellent at art but horrible at durability, Gerudo being great for minigames like the Ranch but being resource-expensive, etc.)). But not all the monsters under the "Demon King" vanished with his defeat, and "your character" can join with other soldiers and the Champions in both offense against their outposts and defense of the settlements. However, as you progress through the rebuilding of Hyrule, the game slowly reveals the history of the Kingdom and tales that heroes have been needed in the distant past. That other monstrosities have previously arisen only to be beaten back or sealed away then forgotten. Evils that a kingdom that has lost its history will accidentally uncover and unleash. And while part of the game will certainly be a "SimCity-like" experience of resource management & building, the other focus will be on exploration and combat. And as Hyrule and the "Underdark" are explored and dug-up, ancient structures are found. Labyrinthian. _Dungeonous._ Filled with beasts that didn't make the cut in the previous two games. And at the heart of it all will be an evil beyond reasoning searching for the one power that even the Zonai Sacred Stones couldn't match. A legendary power recalled only in religious mysticism yet not seen since well before the Zonai descended upon Hyrule...a time when the Goddess Hylia walked the land. Or that's my thought at least. Part builder, part action/adventure, taking from the best of the entire series by bringing back the exploration of a wide-open Hyrule that's suddenly limited & needing re-exploration with classic puzzle/trap/combat-filled dungeons, the outposts/villages taking the place of the Towers for fast-travel (hence why you _want_ to rebuild & populate each village/garrison/amusement/etc.), and with the loss of the Sheikah Slate/Rauru Hand a return to classic dungeon items that can wear with use to being near-worthless (but not breaking) that can be restored as-needed and even upgraded by the same resources used to rebuild Hyrule.

If they made a metroidvania Zelda game, much like Zelda 2 but with the time, patience, and care of Hollow Knight and Metroid Dread. I could see that being one of the best Zelda games of all time. All these incredible metroidvania games coming out, I could easily see Nintendo take a swing and make a outstanding Zelda game in that format. It can be open world, it can have dungeons, it won't be so linear, and it would be something new. I know I would spend countless hours playing a metroidvania Zelda game.

We need true dungeons back, more along the styles of majoras mask, ocarina of time, or twilight princess. The open world dungeons on the last two games haven’t been the best. Feels like the same old dungeon over and over again.

It would be a terrible decision to have link talk in any game or even in the upcoming movie. They have done it twice in the past (even though Nintendo wasn’t linked to either of those titles) and it had turned out really really bad. There are movies with silent protagonists and they’re honestly my favorite trope

I think a different interpretation of the legend of Zelda would go crazy except rather than play as Zelda or Link You play as a good version of Ganandorf who is trying to stop an evil Zelda from oppressing all of Hyrule with the help of her legendary knight link who I would imagine you try and convert to good throughout the course of the story. This would give us a different layer of Ganondorf and serve as a indirect redemption ark as he learns about evil versions of his past self
