wow. I got into skating before internet even existed. I saw older kids skating and I learned by myself and we skated SIMS boards and Vision and G&S and watched VHS tapes of Tony Hawk doing radical tricks. You learned by watching these guys? I'm thankful I grew up when skating was totally rad.

I love how you two are so nice to the beginners im a beginner and most people where I live look down on me because im a girl and all the guys don't think I can do as well as they can. Ive decided to help girls around my skate park to start and to progress with them to show them they can do it because of these videos and most of the time I just skate by myself because there's not a lot of nice people at my park. So thank you for making this video to show some people how it can be most of the time.

It's actually a shove-it kickflip. . You grab the board for a varial. . It really doesn't matter what you call it though. Many people call it a varial kickflip nowadays anyway

Games n' Stuff I am currently going through the same thing. My wife started playing on a volleyball team and I support her 100%, even though it’s a sport she played in high school. I decided I would start back skateboarding and EVERYONE I know is making a joke of it. I fail to see the difference and though I have pretty thick skin I can see where the discouragement comes from.

This was really inspirational. I’ve been working on a kick flip for quite some time and after months of trying I got pretty discouraged, laid down, ate a bunch of Oreos, and watched Netflix for a few hours while feeling pretty hopeless. I'm 35 and I'v been skating for a week now. just did my first backside kickturn on a quarter pipe today and it felt awesome. The very first day I got my board I went to a skate park and saw dozens of people dropping in and landing kickflips all over the park. but no one seemed to mind that I was just learning to stand on the board and actually had people come to me to give advice. Don't be afraid of looking like you don't belong. One of the most motivating experiences of my life was how awesome the other skaters were that day and how they didn't seem to mind me falling all over the park at all.

I'm a penny boarder and tomorrow morning my brother-in-law is giving me one of his skateboard and i'm so exited and i just wanted to say if it want for braille skateboarding i would never picture my self on a skateboard/penny board so thank you very much. edit: i got the skateboard its quite damaged but its still ride-able and i know how to push and 1 other small 'trick' not really a trick but it is to me.

I'm 38 and started skateboarding two weeks ago, hurt my knee on day 3 and had to stop for about 10 days. Today, i was finally able to try again and hurt the same knee in the same way. I was considering giving up, then watched this video, tip #10 - Never. Give. Up. Gonna try something easier on the knees tomorrow...

I just want to say that this is probably the best video I’ve seen from the Braille channels. Especially #8. Surrounding yourself with other skaters. I’m getting back into skating after 6 years and it’s been a little rough, but honestly between hanging with my friend along with all of his friends at the park, and watching Braille videos, I feel like my progression is better than it ever has been even back when I skated regularly. Also, I love watching these videos, and they always give me motivation to get out and skate and get better so plz don’t stop lol. Thank you Aaron, and all of the Braille guys. 👌🏼

I highly recommend gel knee pads and gloves if you're trying new tricks. Not only does it reduce the chance of injury, but it increases the chance of success. Why? Because with that added layer of 'security' you are subconsciously more willing to push it that little bit harder. You'll extend yourself that little bit further because you've got protection to fall back on. And as a result, you'll most likely be successful with the new move much sooner.

Yesterday was my first time skateboarding and I fell 2 times. I do longboard (5years) and i begin to do tricks with a skateboard because your videos inspires me ! All the points you mention are good for begining and many pepole wants to burn step but time is your friends ! I progress on a grass for more stability before do the tricks on a concret ! I love to skateboard but people keep on talking about that I have a penny board and I can’t do tricks and they say get a real skateboard and I’m trying to get a real skateboard but right now my family is going threw some troubles

If you start hanging out at your nearest skate store they might give you a free used board. It doesn't hurt to ask. That's called being resourcefull. Good luck. Keep skating.

I dont want to go to the Skatepark becouse there where I live there are only drugdealer, and I find it really sad becouse Skatebording isnt like this it FUN and not for DRUGDEALER... Im not English so my writing is bad but I hope it isnt to bad...
