My name is Anica and I was born and raised in Italy, Rome in 1998. I'm originally from Bangladesh and I've been living in the UK for 6 years, so you could say I'm multinational. I'm studying Adult Nursing at the University of Nottingham, but I'm probably going to be like those people who study something but end up doing something completely different as a career.

Your happy place is your home. Either you are born with a home or you make a home. You never just 'find' a home by travelling around.

Most of the indian areas are the most dirty in Leicester. City Council gave up on Cossington Park (Behind Belgrave Road, they try so many things to improve the look of the park but people keep on throwing food and stuff.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences in Leicester. I used to live in Leicester for a few years as a student and also worked there too. Apart from getting a good curry, it wasn't that nice at all. Leicester isn't really that hilly compared to Nottingham - the latter has areas on the east side that has crazy steep roads. I know NW Leicester has a bit of hills and so has Highfields as well but most of Leicester is flat. I agree about the inner city areas of Leicester being dirty and polluted, it is horrible. Drivers are crazy in Leicester. I agree that Leicester is pretty unfriendly and yes there is a lot of crime. Leicester is definitely smaller than Nottingham overall.

@@fabiansamirr981 Well, it is not the most nicest university I've seen - I've studied at Leicester University which was better. But if the course and modules suits you, then DMU would be good for you. At least it is in the city centre (on the west side) which is handy. The city on the whole isn't the best either - neighbouring city Nottingham is better

Leicester is extremely bland and boring. I hate the constant roadworks and I feel like many people who have spent here their whole lives are very closed off and stagnant.

TBH if you contact a City council about the fact you dislike the habits of next door's cat, they will probably think either you are a lunatic or you are playing a prank.

Thank you for your hoenst opinion on Leicester. Good to know. But these things probably exist in some other places too. Especially homelessness and the youth etc

I live in a shared house and some of the residents smoke outside my window. I dont smoke so to me its horrible to smell it but they dont care

The worst thing about Leicester is that the Crescent and Star brigade rights trumps the rights of all others. Highfield, Evington and now Oadby, which were choice areas are places where the white flight happended and the subsequent MPs like Jonathan Ashworth , The Police and Leicester City Council dare not say anything to a vocal and violent majority! Any plans for a Mosque are passed, no traffic warden dare ticket a car to worshippers attending the Mosque yet they will have draconian measures on Christians attending a Church, Hindus going to the temple, Sikhs going to the Gurudwara. A city where there is a clear divide where whites and coloured people do not mix, unless the English want a curry, or Indian girl date. Woe betide the Indian male who goes into white areas. Indian women however welcomed. But not the male. They wull have a curry night at the pubs then say to the Indian males go back home!

Hi! I live in Leicester I’ve lived in Leicester my whole life, but I’m a really nice person in my eyes, I think schools are my worst thing, students are so judgemental and teachers don’t do anything to help our learning we are very poor and spend all the money our city gets on making our shopping centres bigger instead of education and the homeless!

The only place I could recommend live in Leicestershire not the Leicester town it's just not a very friendly place to be.

@@Rubina.88 I lived in Leicester in my life and I recommend not being with ginger-haired kids/teens. One place in Leicestershire that is safe, friendly, clean and small is Rutland. I honestly wish to live in Rutland as it is such a lovely countee!

I think I can suggest a suitable place for you to make your home. No one has done a Travelogue there yet, so you can get lots of views. It's called the Moon. It has the great advantage that there are no other people there. The problem is you need to grow up and become and adult.

Things must have deteriorated a lot recently, because when I lived in Leicester there was much less homelessness in Leicester than I have seen in big cities Birmingham, London, or even in Walsall, a town. Homelessness however has been on the rise nationally since 2008 and the downward trend in the UK economy. The current housing crisis and high costs of accommodation recently have boosted homelessness nationally. I often think you blame Leicester for problems found in all urban centres in the UK.

Rundown, not a great place nowdays, a few attractions, but sadly lots of issues with troublemakers and above average unemployment, no investment put in the place, dirty rundown and grotty, has a long way to go to see major improvments.

1.Cats are independent animals and not the responsibility of the council. 2. Narrow streets as they are Victorian. 3. Everywhere has horrible people. You sound quite judgemental and nasty You should just go.
