Being able to drive with nothing in between towns is what makes Oklahoma exceptionally good. And if you think Oklahoma is flat, then get off I35 and I40. Oklahoma is very diverse from corner to corner. If you are a city person, move to Dallas. Oklahoma is for relaxed, family, outdoor adventures.

I lived in FL for over 20 years and while I enjoyed going to the beach, I actually enjoy it more now because I can go on vacation and spend more time there than when I lived right next to it. Plus, it’s only 7 hrs to Galveston from here. I also find that going to the lakes is just as much fun, if not more. If you hate OK so much, you should go live elsewhere. But I wouldn’t be surprised if you came back when you find how much better it is living here. After many years in crazy S Florida, living here is a blessing.

Colorado has it's ugly side too.lol. She didn't represent very will. Half was fair. But things like public transportation, there's only a few places in the entire country considered good. New York or Chicago mainly.

@@amandabretch85 Oklahoma has lots more. Tulsa is a 5 hour to either Dallas or Kansas city. The main reasons we don't have more because how we are. No NFL or a huge six flags. Oklahoma is a lot like Texas without the beaches. Lol. Oklahoma city looks to Dallas but is more like Fort worth. Tulsa looks more to the Midwest. If you move Kansas, the best would be the suburbs of k.c. or Wichita. But Oklahoma has pretty good places outside their main cities too. Enid, Lawton, McAlester, and Bartlesville. Oh and Ponca city. These city pops. Are from 18k to over 100k. Things to do in and outside of those city's.

I remember when I was young and dumb like this realtor, armed with a college degree and ready to move out of backward Oklahoma. I've traveled all over this pretty country on business. Here's what I've since learned from the school of hard knocks. You can pick all but a handful of states to live. And once you experience the crime, the attitudes, the property taxes, the cost of living, the quality of life, even the weather, you will kiss the tarmac upon arriving back in Oklahoma when you get to be my age. As to being landlocked, you can hop a plane and be in any ocean surrounding the U.S. in less than three hours from Oklahoma, stay there a couple of weeks, get your fill of the ocean/mountains. And you'll actually have money to spend to enjoy yourself on the beach, instead of eating the trash from dumpster while living on the beach because there is nothing left of your paycheck living near the beach.

I lived in Oklahoma for two years of my life. After all of that, I could honestly say I frankly never wanna go back again. It amazes me how incredibly hostile y'all are whenever someone has a minor criticism about your state, and it fucking floors me how Oklahoma drivers turn killing animals on the roadside into a game; never in the many states I've been to have I seek as many dead animals on the roadside as I did in Oklahoma. You can keep your shitty state. I, a Coloradan, who happens to share similar political values with your state's people, honesty don't ever wanna visit your state again.

Tex totally agree. I been to over 20 states. We got it so good. The problem is Oklahomans don't say good things about themselves. It's a echo chamber that kids hear over and over growing up till their adults. No we're to perfect. Even as a red state most of our statehood was run by democrats who screwed us outta of oil royalties unlike Texas have set up. It's also why our state government suffers sometimes. It's bigger then it should be for our size. The roads, lol well we could be California and still have these roads because of our extreme weather with hot and cold. And we're putting more into tourism. We are late on arrival on that. But the last decade is paying off. 30 years back and we be on track. Think about it northwest Arkansas is blowing up in population and they love coming to Oklahoma for outdoor stuff and I feel we aren't doing enough to capitalize on it. Maybe some more camping areas would be a start. Dallas is hooked on our lakes and casinos. What else could we do to capitalize on that. Dallas is on our state border. It's metro is. Oklahoma is about to become like California's Oregon or Arizona with a mini Vegas and lake Tahoe attached to it. But more in a better way. Most is already in place with lots of room

This was a great video! I live in Fort Worth, TX and my husband and I are considering moving to OK. I absolutely love my state but we have been invaded by so many people moving here. The prices are crazy and the traffic has gotten so insane. My small suburb where we barely saw traffic or crime has unfortunately disappeared due to, way to much growth to quickly. It’s all due to contractors propagating our areas to sell homes, land and fill the million new apartments they destroyed our community with. Growth is good but not this much this fast. OK sounds peaceful and quiet, just the lifestyle we want. Plus no traffic!!! Lol

Now, Minnesota, where I grew up, has lots of mosquitos and they can suck all your blood out in minutes. And there's nothing good about big cities; I know because I've been to most of them. Sissortail state bird. I've lived in 4 states OK, CA, AZ, CO & realized there are worse places to live than Okla. Every state has it's pros and cons, the question is what kind of deal you personally have going on. Phil Walker here. Boring & not walking anywhere is on you.

Same here- have lived in 4 states too. WA/OR/CA/OK - I personally like the wide open feel of the plains/fields but then again after being in Seattle/ Tacoma and in/around LA/SanDiego the big city-skyscraper vibe isn't my thing.

There's quite a few 'I hate Oklahoma' videos, but yours is the only one with an entertaining, accomplished speaker. ;) I was waiting to find a point I disagreed with, if I am being honest and...I did not. All 10 of those are valid for me as well, even though I am still living in small town northeast Oklahoma! Thanks for the share.

I feel the same way. I still live in Oklahoma, but all the reasons she spoke of I don't really disagree with. My three biggest problems with Ok is the unpredictable weather, the utter lack of really fun events, and the stagnant minimum wage amount. The only reasons I'm still here is because I wouldn't be able to afford living else where, and a lot of my family is here or lives fairly close by.

State bird, never heard that live in Oklahoma and it takes at 75 mph down I-35 S 9 hours and 15 minutes but travel takes you from Norman to the state line at Oklahoma 70 mph approx. 1.5 hours, now once in Texas the speed is allowed on average 75 mph with some segments at 80 to 85. Corpus Christi is 588 miles from Norman. So let us say that you would prefer to drive to the pristine waters of South Padre Island Texas, is 742 miles so 1.5 to the Oklahoma, Texas State line and then 75,80,85 lets say you average that at 72 mph 10.3. Now this begs the question most flights there round trip are est. in the 250.00 to a little over 400.00 dollars. drive time in a car 10 hours give or take on your stopping for breaks and food. probably 13 hours. the gas though let us suppose your car gets 45 mpg highway and rule out in Norman drive. 742 miles to beautifully clear Gulf waters would take approximately 98.9 dollars round trip. But the average depends on really what kind of car you drive suv the lower 20s hybrid around the upper 30s electric adds to your time as you charge for a very long time. The Average mpg is a car 24.5 which would cost at 3 dollars a gallon 181.71 dollars if you aren't driving in cities along the way to see historical places. True your cost by plane is more but saves you an average of 3hr and 15 min and you can book flights through travel sources like Travelocity and get that flight through United for 136 dollars. I get it its not about going to the beach gulf or ocean it's about its proximity to where you live, and neither do 29 other states and the ones that do may not be a great beach exp. Alaska, Maine, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Pacific are cold from Alaska down to California. A wet suit is required for northern Cal. and Oregon and Washington. As far as the inconvenience of travel distance North Texas poses similar circumstances, New Mexico and any state North of New Mexico and Arizona not bordering the sea. One may say the sea of Cortez, beautiful but dangerous. Miami is great could move there you had best be a good swimmer, rip tides abound on the southern Atlantic coast, especially during hurricane season. So what makes me right, Nothing it is just perspective, I grew up in Eastern Oklahoma, a small town, where people still wave at strangers and if you have a car problem people will stop to help. Don't try that in major metropolitan cities like Los Angeles, San Fran, and Seattle. Portland is not a city close to the shore. Same on the east coast. The number 2 reason for not liking Oklahoma yields little consideration. An Oklahoma native enjoys a much cheaper cost of living than those in the east-west or Gulf areas. You live and are native to a state that has no oceanic border, yet you are from Oklahoma Northeast Oklahoma. it is not like you have been able to weigh in on the advantage-disadvantage with any relative understanding of life elsewhere. Good Luck to you.

@@okrealtor the snobs. My mother moved us from the east side of Norman, where I grew up, thinking she and her husband and their two daughters they doted on would climb up the social ladder. They seemed to fit in but I wasn't welcomed into the circle when I was in my teens. These were kids my age but I wasn't accepted into their hoyty toyty world. I wasn't good enough for them. So when I graduated from high school in 1994, I ran into some gypsy friends of mine and told them the shunning and bullying I have endured. They reminded me of the favor they owed me for helping them fix an axle on one of their trailers. The woman told me to give her a list of the last names of the people who wronged me and when I did, she placed a curse on them and their entire families.

wanna truly drive for ever and arrive at nowhere ??? Go to Alberta Canada, or British Columbia in Western Canada. Oklahoma is tiny by comparison. You can set out in Lethbridge Alberta and drive east for 3 days and you'll end up somewhere near the upper great lakes. Which is nowhere. And 2 more days to get to Toronto. By then - the crush of humanity will freak you out so much that you'll turn around and drive 4 days more days to get away from it all.

Wow, I would have to disagree with much of what you are saying. I moved to Oklahoma in 2011 from Northern Michigan. The mosquitos here are tiny compared to the B52 bombers we have back home. You said OKC lacks places to eat, have you opened your eyes when you drive through there? You said there isn't much traffic, I grew up in the Detroit area, there is just as much traffic here as there is there. Only thing that is worse here than the Detroit area is the people here can't drive and the crime is about as bad as Detroit. If you think living in Oklahoma is so bad, go live in Detroit, Chicago, or other big cities that have everything you hate about here. I grew up in the big city. I hated it. After high school I headed north as far as I could go and still live in the US. If it weren't for the fact that my husband and myself need to work, I would be living somewhere where my nearest neighbor was more than 5 miles away and the nearest store was a place you went to only once a month. Oklahoma is not a bad place to live as long as you don't live in the cities
