I just bought an AP2 model in March and bought it for tracking. What I've learned and going through it right now is alignment hardware. Almost all bolts are seized to the bushings! So now I'm in process of replacing all the bushings, replacing with mugen bushings. Love the car otherwise! Happy with my purchase 😊
I bought one back in 2015 with 40k miles for $14k at the dealer used and now I’m currently at 120k miles. I can’t believe these things are going for $30k 😢 with about the same mileage.
Honestly I see that price only climbing as time goes on. Every year a large numbers of s2000’s gets totaled because they end up in the wrong hands. 🤷🏼♂️ It’s just the way it is. I paid $4k for mine although after everything is said and done it owes me $8k but I’ve declined several offers north of $20k I will never sell it!!
@@VikingsGarage sadly this is the reality of 2024 and so on due to inflation and the corona virus plague. If it weren’t so bad I would 100% buy a 2nd s2k for a show car and possibly project car.
Very good review. I'm in the market of purchasing one. either a 2000 year model with 73,000 Kilometers or a 2006 with 53,000 Kilometers. They are about the same price. In your opinion will they both rise in price and what one would you purchase? Thank you
Excellent point, it is a tiny bit in my line of sight. But for the love I have for it, I don’t let it bother me. I am 6 feet tall, a few more inches and it would not work for me. 😅
The most overhyped car in automotive history. That baby boy knows it more than most of the clowns out there. I will take the Boxster and Z4 all day any day.
😂 Boxster and Z4 ain’t got shit on S2000. I’ve owned a Boxster, driven a Z4 multiple times and neither are as much fun, as well built or as engaging to drive as the S2000 ❤
Lol I'm guessing you have never owned a s2000 if you think it is overhyped. Literally one of the best driver cars ever made. Enjoy your dime a dozen unreliable German headaches, nobody with an s2000 is going to envy you. I've owned my ap1 for years and I won't sell it unless I can't drive it comfortably one day and it's worth a fortune.
Maybe you see the s2000 as being "overhyped" in your little internet w🌎rld, but correlation doesn't equal causation, it's not overhyped it's just hyped and rightly so as the S2000 was notable for its exceptional specific power output of about 124 hp per litre, or about two horsepower per cubic inch, the highest of ANY mass production, naturally aspirated engined car, until 2010.
