10 things I like about Poland (compared to the U.S.) 

What you are describing is very typical about Europe and being European. I too, used to live in the US. I left for Ireland in the autumn of 2004. Moved to France in December 2008. It's great living over here and looking at the US from the outside is pretty surreal. I visited Poland in the spring of 2006. It was a very memorable trip. We landed in Łódź, then we went to Warszawa and eventually took a train to Kraków. I really loved Kraków. There was a lot to do and see. We saw a free concert at a church, and they were from California. There was some pagan festival where girls wore crown of flowers in their hair and went down to the river to put floating candles in the water. This city had a unique energy I cannot describe.

Just a great, honest and well balanced overview.

totally agree, not much roundabouts in the States here! and Im missing the buses and trams so much :( I love polish public transportation system

I leave a tip but only if I am satisfied with the polite service.

MONIKA nie chwal tak Polski, i zycia tutaj,bo będziemy musieli wizy wprowadzić dla amerykancow,tylu będzie chciało przyjechać I żyć tutaj,heee.Zyjac 30 lat w komunizmie,nie myślałem że dożyję takich czasów, że amerykanka polskiego pochodzenia będzie zachwalala życie w Polsce I radziła us citizens żeby poprawiali swoje życie na wzór polski.

Funny fact is ... there used to be Dunkin Donoughts in Poland. It lasted a year or so because people ate their pączki instead :P and DD moved out :D

26 days of vacation are good comparing to 2 weaks but for example in Finland or maybe just in the company I work with :) they have 6weaks at least and usually they are on vacation for 2 month in the summer :D This is something to improve in Poland.

These things all depend on where you live in America. For example whre I live in Indiana, every Summer there is the Greek Festival with great food, the Serbian Festival, the Polish festival, the Italian festival, days at the local park with many festivals and events. There is so much going on that it is impossible to attend all the events.

Hahaha, I'm Polish living in Canada and it's the same as the States with most of these points. We definitely spend too much and keep our eyes on things that are not important. We are definitely hard workers which is bad for health but our customer service rocks; the best in the world actually. In Poland, I've had a few bad situations when it comes to customer service but hopefully it improves in those businesses. The Euro culture is definitely great... with the coffee, outdoor socializing and overall indoor hospitality is definitely something great that we're missing here. And the breaks... 26 days? That's amazing. Here, life is just go-go-go like Monika said. Pick up your coffee.. and go. Lol!!!! 😆

If they rely on the employers to pay them and not the tip, the service will be according. Why would they try to give you the best service overall if they just get paid the same as if they give you just a mediocre service. That people say about some europien countries. The service suck in compare with the us.
