i made the mistake of texturizing my hair to do a “length check” before dying it. BAD idea. i couldn’t just straightened my hair, dyed it and then revert it back. but i wasn’t thinking, i lost my two precious years of having my natural fro and was literally DEVASTATED when i realized that i made the mistake, but i have 1 year of growth and i cut them nasty colored ends off like fake friends and i’m NEVER even looking at a box of that texturizing crap again. if i wanna dye my hair i’m doing it with naturally straight hair or dying my natural fro
I agree with not going to bed with wet hair. I’m guilty of falling asleep with conditioner in sometimes 😭🥴 but if you do wash and goes, going to bed with wet hair is a no no. All them hours you spent will go down the drain because you will wake up with frizz, I promise. Investing in a hooded dryer is the best thing I’ve done for my hair routine 🙌🏽
I was sooooo stressed out yesterday and I was literally about to cut my hair off. And it’s mid back length. I was having a Britney Spears moment and was about to shave it all off. So HAPPY I came to my senses. 😂😂🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ starting therapy soon myself.
1. i’m never getting braids and not moisturizing my scalp and hair during that period 2. i’m never going over 3 months without a trim 3. i’m never buying any random hair care products just because it’s cheap
@@a_2502 lol i understand. i would get braids all the time but never understand why my hair wasnt retaining length...it's because i wasnt taking care of it in the braids! now i oil/grease my scalp 1-2x a week and moisturize the actual braids every couple of days. you still need to take care of your hair in protective styles! also, i never would trim.....idk i was just down bad lol. but i've noticed my hair is much healthier now that i implemented those things :)
I’ll never get box braids again. Took a break for a year did twist hair was soooo thick and healthy .. got braids and my hair was set back for like 6 months worth of progress. So I’m back twist. Tbh I started to feel pressured to getting braids to look better bc of some comments that were made. I folded and now these are the results. Respectfully I’m ganna start telling people to kiss my ass. I want longer hair idc if I look like Celie.
Box braids can be good if you do them yourself. You should try learn to do them yourself if you weren't already. Bc then you control the tension, and how much moisture is put in before, and also can control how many you put in. That might help. Every time I do box braids on my own hair it grows. But same time do what works for you, but I'd suggest to do them yourself
my never is "letting my hair get too long". i've had natural "4c" hair all my life & it got to waist length. I finally cut it short & the freedom... the freedom? it's magnificent!! like, is this what the mens have been gatekeeping? lol I save time, money, energy, & *sanity* (after getting over societal standards/pushback for not having long hair). besides the expectation for it to be short, I totally get why most guys don't bother growing out their hair.
Im never doing the Rice water or the egg and honey protien or any do-it-your-self product treatment. It takes too much time or it stanks up your house... I have a life to live and candles are expensive💯
I won’t ever dye my hair again, it’s just not my thing anymore. And I feel you on the preservatives! Tbh, I’m not buying a product that was made in somebody’s home kitchen. If they haven’t worked with a hair care formulated that knows what actives work well, I don’t want it!
i will never and i mean NEVER put food in my hair again!!! i’m getting war flashbacks of picking bits of banana and avocado out of my curls, worrying that my hair will smell like eggs and mayo……. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!! i’m keeping the fruits & veggies off my scalp and on my plate!! hair products exist for a reason 🙏🏾🙏🏾
9 months ago I have two lengths of hair because of those damn rubber bands. 4c girl here with fine hair. The rubberbands ate through my hair like Pac-Man. Now I’m sad and gotta mullet all around.
wait a second…… the way i had been swearing by that little twist and snip trim for years 😭 oh you got me good, i literally never thought about it like that
I`m never going to use hair brands that make you use half of it in one go. I`m never going to use hair brands that need a bank loan. I`m never going to use hair brands that need you to use 6 of their products to make it work. I`ve found that the hair grease that my mum used on me in the 70`s is growing my hair just like it used to. Thank you.
do you put oil over your mousse/foam? I just used mousse for the first time but it doesn't say to put oil over. Might try it next time to see if my hair likes that
@@a_2502 I personally don’t use oils at all because I do not believe it’s necessary. You don’t need to add them when using a wrapping foam either because it works well just on its own :)!
I'll never skip rinsing and detangling daily. The way my hair is set up, braids too often thin my edges so it's a daily "wash" and go. Also thank you for the "As I Am" hair care bar video. I ordered all four and I can't live without it.
I so wish my hair dried fast enough to do this. My hair holds on to moisture for so so long and I would get such bad dandruff and stuff if I got it wet everyday. But it would be so nice to have freshly washed (and dried) hair everyday. You must have good hair days everyday!
I will never be a wild n free natural again. CHUNKS of my ends GONE. You talking about stairsteps?! I had to chop off half the length in the back because I was just lost in magical thinking that conditioner would fix it.
I have stopped oiling my scalp. I only apply tiny light oil to the mid shaft and ends. My hair no longer tangles and growth is better. I have sensitive skin, why not a sensitive scalp?
I love watching your hair tips. I've been growing my hair since pre COVID. A lot of people say I have good hair. I've made many mistakes, though, on using rubber bands at the roots, not detangling my hair immediately after taking it out and shocking my hair with scorching hot water, and more. And I do treat my hair like it is plant-a living thing. Point is, I learned a lot of hair tips from you. I'm subscribed everything. Thanks for the tips. Keep them coming.
I’m never sectioning my hair😭 it took me years to realize that my finer, less dense hair kept breaking off because I kept sectioning and over detangling. I wash and style without sections and I’m losing a lot less hair!
I will never use at home hair dye or bleach my hair myself again, simply because the damage wasn’t worth it. I will never keep my protective style in for longer than 6 weeks again. 6 weeks is pushing it even now. My scalp is just too sensitive. And I will NEVER let products build up the way they did during my product junkie phase 🤣🤣🤣I want one of everything and when that’s about to run, THEN I’ll buy something else lmao
Whew this is hair life to the max, thank god I found this channel. You are telling the truth. I got super healthy fast growing hair and you are speaking the truth. I detox my scalp every two weeks so I never get a yeast. I do nothing he said not to do and haven't in life a year and my hair is SUPER healthy.
That Jazzing hair dye in the pink bottle is probably the nemesis of temporary hair color from back in the day. My mom still talks about that plum color 🥴
I will never again go against my own experience and judgement about my own hair. I will never again doubt that I know my hair best. Trends and Stylists be damned!
I will never be impatient with my hair again when it comes to detangling cause it could’ve been thigh length already! If I didn’t pull it out not detangling one day after soMe small singles! But I learned 😅
I will neverrrrr listen or follow anyone else’s hair routine or advice again. Following it even from pros did nothing but damage my hair. I will never do the most. Literal water and hair oil to detangle AND style works wonders and now my hairs pretty long and healthy.
I’ll never get another Deva Cut….girl I came out of there looking like a damn poodle 🙄 they put me under that hair dryer, no diffusing or nothing like bro bye. I had no curl definition so I went home and did my own hair.
"I will never do my hair again without clipping my nails first" ppl who manage to do their natural hair with full sets of acrylics: I am 5 parallel universes ahead of you
Using shea butter or beeswax. Gives a neat, non frizzy look, but way too heavy for my strands. The hair may never recover from the severe breakage I have now.
I will never perm relax my hair again, jheri curl my hair again, texturise my hair again, cut my hair again, flat iron my hair again. From now on, its just natural wash and drying under a hooded dryer and go- so help me God.
Im never going to bed with wet hair; dying it; put raw food in it (like eggs, bananas, etc.), never big chopping again, and never washing it before some heavy detangling after a protective style
I hear u on the hot water Will so you could close yr cuticles by rinsing with cold water that way u can still wash yr hair with hot or warmer water if u want to
I just used mousse for the first time yesterday and loved it! Defined my 4c hair well so from now and my hair isn't really dry. I'll be only using mousse from now on and see how my scalp changes. This might be a dumb question don't come for me lol but the protein products, does it just say it has protein or it's certain ingredients? I want to make sure I don't use too much. My scalp will start developing dandruff after 2 days of putting nothing on my scalp, but that's usually if I put a cream or oil on my hair strands... I got more to learn lol 1. Never not spraying sulfur 8 on my scalp every other day on loose hair or braids (so freaking lazy & then I wonder why I suffer lol) 2. Never going over 3 months without a trim 3. Most likely never using creams and butters 4. Never being impatient when detangling
Yess I had fungus behind my ear because my hair was wet and it also was wet behind my hair. It looked like dandruff patches but behind my ear. Never again.
I will never use a wide tooth comb to detangle my super knotted hair. I will never go a week without clarifying. I will never shampoo my already matted hair, always pre poo and detangle.
And then have you ever tried to do your hair and didn’t file/ clip your nails and then try to file it down with pruny ass fingered flexi nails from hella water absorbed nails… NEVER WORKS!
I am no flat ironing my hair. I have this 4B/4c thing going on with some 4A in the back. My silly self always starts in the back and lines how it looks forgetting that the majority is 4B/4c and it reverts back so quick.
