Received a comment saying that I haven’t clear the ultimates and current raid tiers. I have deleted the comment since it revealed my in game character’s name (wish to stay anonymous) but I still wish to clarify on this topic. I didn’t clear the current raids (reason explained in 1 year recap vid) but did clear the ultimates just not on my home server which may have caused it to be not reflected on my character’s online page. I don’t know if this is the exact cause since I’m not really sure why either. This is just a potential reason that I can think of. But if you guys want further proves then I can show my character’s achievement list or even clear them again in a future video. But ultimately my bad for causing the confusion.
pretty sure you get rested xp if you log out in a place that shows a crescent moon icon next to your XP bar but Inns just accrue rested XP faster than logging out in the open world. so to maximize your rest xp gains, its best to log out inside Inn rooms.
2:30 --- Also, small tidbit about the Aethernet: if you unlock all mini-crystals, you automatically unlock the airport and the city's exits. In case of the old three cities, this is a blessing which cant be overstated. Now you only have to remember which gate is which - because once outside, you cant teleport back :D The inns... Yes, its not much but still... having that short cutscene of your character putting itself to be... or getting up again when you logg back in... Yeah, its a nice touch :) Also, when they gradually sunsetted 1.0, players would logg back in and instead of their character getting up after a sound sleep, they would get nightmares and wake up by falling off the bed :D I really hope they bring something like that back one way or another...
I've been playing XIV for 3 years and I still get the Yellow Serpent and White Wolf gates in Gridania mixed up sometimes, regarding exactly where I want to go.
Something else to keep in mind is that ARR & HW hunts are still very viable! If you do those hunts, and participate in the slaying of higher-level marks like A and S ranks, you can easily stock up on Allied Seals and Centurio Seals. These can be exchanged for more aetheryte tickets! If you stay on top of it, you won't have to pay for the vast majority of your teleports!
@@TrueSquareFace And to expand upon this. If you cap out at 4,000 for either Allied or Centurio Seals, you can straight up and buy 800 Aetheryte Tickets from the vendor and never pay teleportation costs ever again. Each ticket only costs 5 seals apiece. Sadly, you cannot buy those with Sacks of Nuts. But there is something new that you can buy with them now. For 3,000 Sacks of Nuts, you can buy an item that you can exchange to get an Augmented upgrade to one of your pieces of Lunar Envoy gear, which is the current capped tomestone gear. But I have a feeling that you won't need it.
Allied and Centurio Seals also (for 250 per Riding Map) let you upgrade your mounted riding speed significantly in ARR and HW zones. (For ShB and EW, you'll use 70 Bicolor Gemstones at a zone's Gemstone Trader instead.)
I am above level 70 with every healer. (almost all 90 besides WHM) Almost 90 with Gunbreaker. And yet I have never touched the glamour system. Ugh I really need to get on top of that lmao Great video btw. Fully agree with full Aetheryte attunement. I saw a friend of mine not doing it after like 30 hours. I think I choked up blood. Cant imagine hundreds.
Thank you for the comment and kind words! I’m glad I can help and if I see a friend of mine do the same thing (not attuning after 30 hours), it may becomes personal with me lol.
A note about the MGP. One of the rewards from sending the Grand Company Squadron out on it's own version of ventures is the Certificates that give bonus MGP. 15% bonus, as high as the highest level of JACKPOT and much simpler to get. Just crack one of those open when you do fashion report. Better still, pick up your Jumbo cactpot during the bonus time, then fashion report, then your winnings from the triple triad tournament, and you'll have 90 minutes left on the bonus to finish the rest of the actions in the challenge log, getting a large MGP bonus the entire time. This by itself makes the squad worth bothering with. If you want more, you can always get chemistry on your entire team to have them bring back MGP.
Something I noticed - At 08:29 you clicked "Skip Cutscene" There is an option in the settings where you can skip previously viewed cutscenes. It saves a lot of time and button presses. You may have that on your main account, but just a thought to include it in another guide if you do one. I have been playing this for 2 years. I have every class at 90 (70 for BLU) and I did not know about the locking the map. Thank you.
There is a pop up help for Limit Break that happens WAY early. ... but so many people see something pop up mid combat and close it because it's in the way.
The thing I sometimes wish ffxiv would do, is those baby tutorials that explain the things you need or want to know, bc there's so so so much that's just there since the first time you boot up the game, that isn't explained at all to you. I mean, I have something like 500+ hours in this game and still don't know more than half the contents it has lol most of the time I want to know something I just go google it bc I'm too timid to ask on my FC or novice network :')
Thanks for the comment and kind words! For cutscene at the end of a dungeon that Ive watched, I usually press esc key on keyboard to bring up a menu which will allow you to skip the cutscene.
@@TrueSquareFace I should've clarified and said it will auto skip the cutscene. It's under the Character Config menu >Control>General (should auto open to this) >then Cutscene Skipping Definitely play how you like though and please keep uploading FFXIV vids!
Another benefit of the gold saucer: Taking the airship there from Uldah is free, then you can take the airship from the gold saucer to any of the 3 starting cities for free. This can save you a lot of money or travel time. Especially if you are not in a free company. For this reason, you can keep your home point in Uldah, and join the immortal flames. As long as your return spell is available, you can get to any of the 3 starting cities for free by casting return, taking the airship to the gold saucer, then taking the airship to the city of your choice. Congrats if you managed to find this comment.
Hey! Loved the tips, just recently got thw game and some og these tips were usefull! Do you happen to have the link for the youtuber for the fashionshow, so i can start getting those MGP coins!
Thanks for the comment and I’m glad I can help! The link to that RU-vidr’s channel is youtube.com/@Meoni1 and his channel’s name is Meoni. If you type in Meoni fashion report then you should be able to find him.
Yes i understand why most people want the tutorial do be improved on. Based on my experience personally tho, never had issues with it, and yes limit break was introduced early but a lot of players will miss it, especially if you're not familiar with old ff games. Limit breaks is 9ne of the things i looked out for since i wondered how will a limit break system work in an mmo setting.
Then this guide isn’t for you. I for one haven’t play any previous mmo or a lot of ff games and thus struggled with the game at first. If you didn’t, good for you
@@TrueSquareFace im not really saying you need to have experience with previous ff games, it does give you an advantage understanding the game but its not really required. Have a friend who never played any ff games before and had miniman issues with the game, mainly because he reads everything.
@@EdgeGilid yes I see ur point but also that’s a lot of reading tbh. A player can easily choose to skip some of the text for numerous reasons while reading the rest, and there is no guarantee as to what they chose to ignore is not important later on.
Small details aside, sth as important as limit break should be upfront when the mechanics is first introduced. I don’t think expecting the players to go to external websites to learn things that they may not even know existed is a good way to introduce the game to new players.
@@TrueSquareFace I started in 6.1 and i agree. I would have given up if it wasn't for my efforts with youtube guides. The game is not new player friendly at all. I got confused so often and unfortunately old system have not been updated even if they dungeons have been. Quality of life is severely lacking and that has always been my complain about the game. However I'm almost an omni 90 and messed with some savage now so by all means I still love this game. However mods really are a necessity, SE is doing the minimum for UI and other updates
