10 Things I Wish I Knew as a NEW CHRISTIAN  

I have a paralyzing fear of disappointing God. I don’t want to make any moves without him but I’m not hearing him clearly so I’m scared to make a decision that will put me out of his will. I know being a Christian isn’t about fear but my anxiety is off the charts!

100% relatable . I had to escape some Christian cults I was involved in that practice fear based or hell based doctrines that it failed to teaches Gods grace and living fearlessly into whose God called me to be . Instead these cult leaders mold me into their idea of who I should be or what they were taught by leaders but not Bible based or spirit led that I felt like I was an unCULTURED robot who was taught not to be myself or enjoy being in Gods freedom. However I am deconstructing from religion and being my true authentic self .

Thank you so much for this! Because I am a new Christian and I have been worrying about trying to do everything perfect. I feel like I have been living in sin so long and not listening to God and I sort of feel guilty and feel like now I have to do everything right. Now I feel like I can just take a deep breathe. So sis I’ve been following you for about a year now- I haven’t been watching you as much but when I tell you this is TIMELY! When I first came to Christ the first few months I was on FIRE 🔥 for this Man. Kid you not, listening/watching sermons, taking notes throughout the sermons, Bible studying/reading, reading books on faith, watching faith based movies/tv shows, praying/interceding/petitioning, worship, praise, evangelizing man nobody could tell me nothing. But then at the like 5-6 month mark I started to doubt myself if I heard God correctly on things, self condemning, self critiquing, beating myself up, trying to be perfectionist, fearing I may have blasphemed the Holy Spirit, I wasn’t doing enough for God I fell into works based & lordship salvation, fell into old habits and it caused me to do the opposite of what I was doing. At some point I even had the thought of denouncing my faith in Christ cus I thought of myself as “unfit” or “disqualified”.

But let remember to be perfect for Christ it is hard but we must keeping trying especially us girls wearing modesty is a must making us our skirt are not too short

My tip is to find good Christian community in REAL LIFE. I spent years only watching RU-vid ministries and I definitely feel like it did more harm than good. These ministries can be really beneficial of course but we need people who can personally help us along our journey and pray with and encourage us.
