I really appreciate that you’ve been the one to say that it’s okay to say no. Everyone always tells you to say yes to things and get involved with as much as possible, and it’s just so refreshing to hear someone say actually no, if you’re uncomfortable or don’t want to, it’s okay to say no. I have a suggestion for a new video, a 24hr or week challenge swapping music playlists with someone who has very different music taste!!

I agree so much with all of these! University is harder and lonelier than most people expect, but it’s also a lot of fun once you get used to it!! I’ve also just finished a year at uni in leeds (and vlogged it all AS well) and totally agree that there’s a very different culture there. Thanks for this!

I defo wasn't prepared for the loneliness. Although you can make so many friends, I feel like everyone goes through that lonely period

I'm late but thank you for this!! These tips are so helpful seeing as I come from a similar situation to you (family-orientated, from a place that doesnt have uber eats etc) and this really helped me out! I'm about to start as a fresher at the uni of Southampton and this vid made me much less nervous for freshers week! Xx

Best advice video ever (I haven't seen Eve's)! The best advice that I was given when I was forced into choosing a single course of study is that it doesn't matter and that it may be changed! For instance, my father studied chemical engineering and became an investment banker! I myself entered into my master's degree studies and now, halfway through, have changed my course (not wholly of course, just from one mathematical branch to another) once again! It is preposterous to ask a teenager as to which course one expects to take for his or her entire life! My mom became a systems engineer for IBM - when she was in college (as an English major) computer "systems" hadn't even been invented yet! Your "major" isn't important unless you are going to medical school. Choose what interests you now - employers are interested in those who can "think on their feet", not those that have knowledge that may be applied to only one discipline!

In moving into uni accom on the 22nd, so freshers week starts on 23rd. Anxious over it all tbh. Good luck to everyone! P.S. Love your eye makeup

I finished year 13 this summer and I've never considered uni up until very recently because I've seen that some uni's do courses in the field i'm interested which seems to be quite obscure (aviation). It feels strange even considering it but I guess I need to just follow my heart and my passions! This definitely gave me some insight into that so thank you xx

My induction day for uni is on Monday perfect timing 💕

I move to uni next Saturday and I’m living on my campus and I’m excited but nervous. I’m on group chats with people from my flat, course, and the halls of residence which has deffo helped put my mind at ease and I know that I’ve got people to hang with some nights during freshers fortnight (yep my freshers is two weeks). Overall I’m excited but I know I’ll get more nervous nearer the time cos it’s such a big change but I know everyone is in the same boat!

Everyone has gone back to school, college and uni so I’ve been doing absolutely nothing! Can’t wait to move in on Saturday. Your advice was great I haven’t really heard before! Thank you!

I’m going to Uni of Law in Leeds in 2 weeks, but I’m from Leeds which makes it a lot easier. But I don’t really drink so kinda shitting it for settling and like I don’t wanna be weird and not drink but it’s sooo tough 🥲

3) I have to disagree, it depends who you live with, you can be in your room alone yes but you’re going to be spending a lot of time with flat mates, uni friends on the same course etc. It totally depends on the person. 8) Finance can be very hard so it’s not always easy to plan events with friends or whoever. My first weeks of university was hard trying to spend money whilst paying rent so you don’t always need to plan events.

Would you recommend to stay in uni halls? I’m planning on moving out with a friend as we’ve worked it all out and it just works out cheaper for us. I’m not sure if I should spend a year in halls or not though as everyone’s like you meet some of your best friends in uni halls but I don’t know if I can afford that by myself. What would you suggest?
