Hard lesson I learned is to not let upgraded tools completely break (i.e. don't let the yellow circle completely deplete). It takes much less materials to repair rather than have to craft the upgrade all over again
2 more things I can add is: 1.) You can have up to 6,400 space in your chest at home, up to 8chest for 3,200 space in the Default home plot, then you can choose "New Plot" and then add another 8 chest in there for an additional 3,200 space 2.) Without spoiling anything, when you kill Deers, DO NOT SELL the Elder horn, the Blue horn thats worth 100g. (Trust me I killed alot of them, and only got about 9 of those, they are rare, and needed for higher lvl items)
There is actually a mechanic I have not seen anyone talk about that I find to be VERY useful. For every quest and many actions, you earn Renown. You can spend your renown either at the Phoenix Shrine or at the Dragon Shrine to add buffs to your focus. The Phoenix Shrine adds % bonus to your focus (Mine is currently at a 52.5% bonus), while the Dragon Shrine adds to your total focus. So, Phoenix Shrine, skill up faster, Dragon Focus, more of a focus pool to work with.
The multiplayer aspect is fun, but it feels more like a singleplayer game with a possibility for parties, the only multiplayer thing is requesting and fishing boost, would love to see them expand the multiplayer with something
I never expected Sarah to make Palia her second Coral Island (i.e. talk about both games and to play them often and also to love them). At the very least, I expected Palia to be slightly popular than Coral Island and Sun Haven. I also hope for the new Coral Update to come out in/by September
Update! At 11pm BST (3pm PST) 2023/08/08, I finally received the invite to play the closed beta. Will play it tomorrow just before open beta.! I dont think all players that signed up before closed beta will be invited to it

Thank you for this! My biggest challenge is usually learning the controls, which can be very frustrating! Unfortunately, the up and down motion when the characters run is a bit motion-sickness inducing, at least for me. Hope they will get that smoothed out by full release...
This tip might be obvious for some, but when I saw that the chests all had the same items in them I assumed that it was just for ease of access and didn't realize it was actually increasing the storage limit as well! I spent SO long with only two chests at home because it seemed to be a waste of resources to make another when I didn't really mind walking around my tiny plot. *Face Palm*
I really liked the game idea but it lacks aesthetics and it’s actually difficult to comprehend it feels like an intellectual game trying to solve rather than cozy relaxed game

The others playes help is the most helpfully. I was worring about this game do not have PVP just because others stealing ur loot or pray and u can't kill them. But i really loved the idea, everyone that hits the target gets THE SAME LOOT as u doing alone AND THEIR HITS COUNTS TOO, so u can use MUCH LESS Focus points and yo can GRIND EXTREMELY FASTER than alone. Well, in my opinion this is the best feature with no doubt!!!
I did not know about shared loot. I was actively not harvesting ores i saw others going for because of games like world of warcraft where its not shared.
I get it's a MMO, but wish there weren't disadvantages at playing solo, but everything seems to be "it's better playing with others". I literally have no friends to play with and randomly joining others gives me anxiety. So I'm enjoying it for now, but I don't think I will for long.
Honestly, the most mind-blowing tip I learned from this video is that you can place items INSIDE the TENT?! I could never place anything in the tent no matter what it was I was trying to put down and thought it was just a pointless item or meant to be a placeholder for your house or something. In my defense, I only played for a total of maybe five hours at most before life did its thing and took all my time, so I didn't spend much time actually trying to decorate the tent. So I'm not completely and hopelessly inept lol The Switch release announcement reminded me that I actually enjoyed the game and reinvigorated my interest in playing again. I'm going to do a fresh playthrough since I don't remember much of the games story or mechanics, and I'll definitely be decorating the inside of my tent this time 😂

It's so sad developers can't seem to finally do away with fishing hotspots. It literally renders most of the waters in the game not viable no matter how pretty the scenery is.
You can fish outside of those spots, these ones just guarantee a star quality fish. This is way better than relying on a random drop chance without the said hotspot mechanic
one thing to add there is an option in the stables of each area to go home or teleport to sub parts of it using gold so you can keep your free teleport for another time, Nice Video i hope i could see it earlier too :D
I don't know if you seen it but you can Fast travel to different locations using the bulletin boards maps in the different areas it cost but that's another way to get around the map
I just got in today (surprise lol) and one of the things I had trouble with was fishing. I read what it said but getting the hang of it was tricky. Best way to explain it was... Its not like stardew or Warcraft. That first little 'plip' a fish gives isn't the actual 'hooking on' Its more like fishing in animal crossing, where you need to wait for the bobber to go down. Once that had happened, I realised the difference. Try to talk to all the crafting and gathering tutor villagers every level up because so far (in the starting out phase) they have had new recipes to give or to buy each new level up. I forgot this, so when I was told to gather materials for a quest item, I was baffled by not being able to craft the maker to MAKE said items (lol) So glad I went to all to the furniture maker before buying 'fabric' item, since she offers crafting bench recipes after you build a few bits of furniture (proper furniture, not storage boxes or crafting benches)
On returning home, you can also use any of the stables around the map to return home instantly, though it will cost 10g. I typically save my free Return Home for when I have to get home quickly and there are no stables nearby.
2:16 thank you for telling me how to rearrange tools in the tool wheel. None of the many places I've looked at said you had to press "I" first to bring up the inventory menu. Either the other places didn't say or they said press 'R' and drag from there.
I am confused on the fence thing. I bought a few plots behind my main house (centered facing the mailbox). I picked up the fence that went across the back and tried to extend the side fence using what I picked up. It wouldn't connect to the current side fencing and kept telling me I didn't own the land I was trying to place it on. It worked if I started the fence a few squares in, but that would put it directly into my garden. I eventually gave up and put the fencing in storage.
Thank you. For the life of me I couldn't figure out the unequip tool button. Also you can use space bar to go through npc dialogue if you don't want to click the arrow. I just hope we can delete furnishings at some point. I have a very large stack of treasure chests that I don't want taking up room in my storage chests. Or make the treasure chests work the same as the storage chests.

Thank you Sarah been keeping an eye on this for a bit and happy to be able to run around in the beta. The tips on the fishing spots and keeping up with chatting with the npcs were definitely helpful for me. I think I noticed an option to ask the npcs what item they want that week. Still getting the hang of that mechanic but seems like it will be useful long term.
I did not know that the treasure chests could be opened. I just thought you got initial loot and then you had this box that took up an inventory slot. I cant wait to open mine now lol
Only a little. They'll say 'Hello!' when you run up to them, and they each have a line or two of generic dialog, but they do not read out all of their dialog lines when you are talking to them.
If it is too far to run and you have your quick return on cooldown.. it is not too expensive to use the mount function that looks like a horse shoe on the map to get around, including home.
