Things, not people. Things are replaceable. If you've read his books or listened to him long enough you know that it's a deep love of his family and people in general that drives him. He said himself that he left pictures of his family at home when on deployment because he never wanted to be distracted by them and therefore fail to come home to them. That's not cold blooded, that's determination and self sacrifice.

Before he was a famous wrestler and actor,Dwayne''The Rock''Johnson(by his own admission)used to actually go up to women and say,''Hey,nice legs,what time they open?'' And it worked! But that goes back to what I was saying about how it depends on who is saying the line. The Rock could obviously get away with doing that,a lot of other guys probably couldn't! Ha! Ha! Also,some guys don't even have to say anything.A friend of Brad Pitt's said in an interview years ago how when Pitt was younger(and before his movie career took off), girls would actually be the ones approaching Pitt! When I heard that,I just thought,''Of course they were.'' Jocko using an Ace Ventura line when he first met his wife obviously worked for him but I bet it wouldn't have worked for a lot of other guys. As an aside,in that photo of them when they're younger,Jocko's wife looks like the actress Margot Robie and young Jocko looks like one of the characters from the movie ''Navy SEALs'' with Charlie Sheen and Michael Biehn! Ha! Ha!
It's awesome to see Jocko spending time with his beautiful daughter. And it's awesome to see 10 things he "utilizes" in his everyday life. This video makes him a lot more relatable and gives us a look at who he is as a regular person. Guitar, flip flops, water bottle, wife, and books. Jocko is one cool dude!!! I'm sure he's a great husband, excellent father, down to earth, and morally a great person. Very good video. To Jocko's daughter: Great idea!!! We got to see a side of your Dad that we probably would have never seen if it wasn't for your creative thinking. Thank you!!!

Obviously Jocko wouldn't like her daughter to date a total loser. I feel like he would just expect someone with discipline, values and sincere love for his daughter.
My friend sold me one of his dad's (God rest him) old vices. I scraped off two layers of chipped paint, mostly by hand, and repainted it. Cleaned it up like new, and installed it on a newly built work bench. I never met the man. But from what I hear, he was a good dude.
I have to say jocko’s is an amazing decorated officer and navy seal. I’m from the uk and this video podcast with his daughter is superb. Apart from his superb history what stands out for me is his honesty and that he too loves black sabbath plus we are from the same era being 2 years younger than me but this chap talks logic and isn’t up his own arse like some military guys get and that’s soul destroying. He instead is a living legend and author now that keeps him focussed and listening to his cast always makes perfect sense plus he doesn’t sound troubled ie PTSD if he does he hides it well and fair play to him. He’s a comical chap for sure and another thing I love is he too loves guitars Taylor acoustic and Gibson SG. Good man he has taste. 🎼🎼🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟

100% agree on the WAHL clippers. Best $30 I have ever spent. Have only ever needed to buy more oil for it and haven't replaced the blade since I bought them. Have been cutting and fading my own hair since I was 16. 0 on the sides and back, 8 clip for the top. At this point (assuming $30 per cut per month) they have saved me almost $10,000

I really liked this video. It's nice to see the pictures and hear the personal stories that Jocko shared on this video. I was also really surprised to see his daughter there too. But yeah not everyone can be super tough and hardcore 24 / 7. Everyone needs to take some time to chill out and enjoy the finer more pleasant things in life.

Agreed.I don't think he would ever do it(and both Jocko and Leif Babin have already said that they wouldn't be interested in a future career in politics) but I think politics could use someone like Jocko. People in the military know how to lead and I really think politics needs more veterans. But for some reason,a lot of veterans seem reluctant to jump into politics.I guess I can't really blame them.I don't think I would ever have much interest in getting into politics,either.
