People sleep on this but I'll bet if you gave them 10 minutes, they could really put together something really compelling. People underestimate how good Truth is in the ring when he's called to be
Just drop the pretenses for a moment and it's Ron and John in there wanting to give the fans one more match against each other. (BTW, Truth has the lead in 1-on-1 matches at 2-1. But they're all from 2011.)
John Cena taking Austin Theory under his wing for a redemption arc would be interesting. He also needs to have a storyline with the Wyatt Sicks since he was arguably Bray Wyatt’s arch nemesis.
Cena has put everyone that he could in the last five years. IMO he has done enough community service for his time on top. I would actually enjoy a super Cena run that ends at WrestleMania.
@@derrickhaggard if it ends with him counting the lights, i'd be down for a few months of him winning. but he should go out on his back, to someone we KNOW is gonna be big like brawn or gunther
@@karnivaltwitchI disagree granted John cena is my favorite wrestler but he has done nothing but lose in singles matches like sure he has gotten a couple of tag wins these past couple years but singles I don’t remember his last singles win. I feel like it should be like the sting retirement tour and he goes out victorious.
No, Cena has to go on winnin' streak for this to fuckin' matter. You brought up that he hasn't really won in 6 years. LA Knight got that pinfall. If he's goin' to be a threat again and actually put some one over he has to prove he can get to that level again. We need Super Cena for six months for this to work.
I disagree with the first one, we need Cena wining at least a couple matches, not all but give him some last W's. He gifted prestige to the lights of Austin Theory and Solo Sikoa with 0 purpose. So, I'm on board for Super Cena.
Agreed. Cena has basically for the last 5 years of his WWE tenure has put people over including Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Austin Theory when there was no need for him to do so. So a Super Cena run including his 17th world title win would be nice.
@@derrickhaggardis it bad I kinda want him to be a double champ with the ic belt so he can be a grand slam champion as well as hold the record of world titles
John cena needs to win the IC title to become a grand slam champion and also he needs to become WWE champion to finally break the record that should have been broken.
I wouldn't want Cena to win a world title but then again? I kinda do just because I KNOW Ric Flair would be the first to complain and say he actually has more than 16 reigns 😂😂😂
@@LengfOrGirf I'm honestly almost tempted to say give him the title at WM 41. Anyone else you'd say it would be no chance that they win... but Cena having it one last time for one day would honestly bring the house down.
@@LengfOrGirfI don’t think he should relinquish the title, he’s said he’s going to December 2025 so I could see him winning it at mania and dropping it at summer slam
100% disagree with avoiding Super Cena. Cena for the last 5 years has put everyone over when he started his role as a part-timer legend. He needs a Super Cena run that includes him breaking Ric Flair's record and becoming a 17-time world champion and ends at WM41 as asking him to continue to essentially continue to lose without him getting wins is not needed, so for the retirement tour let's do what Undertaker did for his last match and combine the Dr. of Thuganomics gimmick and Super Cena Gimmick.
It's very easy to have a good take like a really good move for his 17th World Title would be John Cenas VS Gunther at Wrestlemania 41, and he goes on a solid run until Summerslam thats it. Another good storyline would be Hollywood Cena VS Cody with Rhodes reclaiming it at Summerslam, what are you yapping about his record breaking win being "unnecesary".
I can picture Cena's last run being epic, full of throwbacks, emotions, good bouts, and in the end after his last match being celebrated by everybody and having the whole locker room come out to show their respect
If they tried to turn John Cena heel, it'll be like having Becky turn heel on Charlotte in 2018. It would make the fans love him so much more. So, why not turn him heel? Give us a chance to see a new side of John Cena before he's gone. Especially because he's got so much more acting experience in Hollywood. He played a great bad guy in Fast & Furious 9 and The Suicide Squad. I'd love to see a little heel run before he retired.
Not gonna lie when I saw the last times is now on his towel at MitB I teared up. John carried WWE to a new level after Stone Cold and The Rock left. Do do do doooo. Thanks for the memories John. Looking forward to the fairwell tour.
Cena winning the IC title then dropping it to Sheamus. So they both can be Grand Slam Champions. Then have Cena lead a new era Evolution except their Babyfaces. Then have Cena get his 17th title only for one of them turn on the group at take the title. Setting up a new bonefide mega heel champion.
So, my personal fan idea. It is very common for wrestlers to end their run on their back for Cena I think it needs to be the opposite. I think he needs to lose every single, singles match until wrestlemaina. Have him wrestle his last match for either the world Heavyweight championship or the United States championship. But not the WWE title there is no need for him to overthrow Cody or whoever is champion at the time but the other two can work. Have him beat one of those two title holders and have him retire as champion.
One final WWE/World Heavyweight title run would be cool. Besides, it's high time that "most titles won" record is updated. Let Cena be the new #1 most-titles champion. Ric Flair's had that record for 20+ years. Heck--Charlotte Flair beat Trish Stratus' record number of women's titles. Then kept winning titles (although not for a couple of years).
That rivalry with AJ styles was GOLD back in 16-17. Wouldn't mind one more match between those 2 but the possibilities are endless! Looking forward to this last run!
I’d love for Cena to pull a Foley and enter next years rumble as modern Cena and thuganomics Cena. No heel turn or anything, just a memorable moment and a nod to a character many people enjoyed.
Actually really like some of these ideas. Cena joins awesome truth for a while, he wins the world heavy weight championship. And then drops it clean to Gunther at Mania. Let him super cena no sell gunther towards the end, decimating him with all the greatest hits. Then let gunther come back hard and vicious.
Have him feud for the IC title, he has never won that in his career and that title is currently so prestigious that it could 100% make sense for him to want it
John Cena is without a doubt the GREATEST OF ALL TIME and My Childhood Hero. I and many diehard John Cena will be crying our eyes out throughout the whole retirement tour in 2025. We will miss seeing the Leader of the Cenation compete in a ring ❤️🐐
This is everything that needs to happen before John Cena officially retires: -World title win -Intercontinental title win -US title win -Tag title win -Bring back the European title and have John Cena win that. -Bring back the Cruiserweight title, have John Cena lose some weight so he can win that. -Win the Royal Rumble match next year. -Win the World title at Wrestlemania. -Break Bruno Sammartino's 7 & a half year title reign. -Win a King of the Ring tournament. -Have a "last match" with Randy Orton, CM Punk, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Edge, AJ Styles, Undertaker, The Rock, Wade Barrett & everybody else on the roster. -Compete in every possible match stipulation for the "last time", such as Hell in a Cell, Ironman, "I Quit" match etc. Point is, John Cena has been buried in WWE for decades and he needs these accomplishments before he hangs up his shorts.
I'm looking for three things personally, 1) Cena wins the IC title to become a grand slam champ 2) Tweener Cena 3)17x World Champion I wouldn't mind a storyline where Cena became the World Champion and the next match he lossed would result in him retiring. It would really give every match meaning and if he went on a streak for months before dropping the title it could really make a new star when he loses.
As far as the new guy to put over. I mean one that I (humbly) think could learn and play in the same field as Cena, Ethan Page. This guy cut some amazing promos in AEW, is still young enough that he has longevity, and the guy can wrestle FR. I think a nice call back story to Cena vs Owens would be cool
Cena can do whatever he wants during the tour. The only thing he needs to do is go out losing to put over a uo and coming wrestler..he can dominate the entire tour. He just needs to do what every hreat wrestler did before him and thats do the job for the sake of the future..
Becoming IC champion should be the first goal and then a short title run. Winning the IC title will work into the narrative he started during the MITB presser where he said he wanted to earn his spot in the title picture. Winning the IC title would show he can put in the work and then he can move onto the World Title after
IC Title.. open challenges. Last match vs orton. Last mania vs rock. One more punk match. Last match in west newberry. Star studded tag matches. Break or attempt to break 16 time world champ record. Enter rumble first? Enter chamber & maybe MITB match. Etc.
I am obsessed with the idea of Cena doing his farewell tour as normal, UBER babyface, "US Championship Open" type deal... Then the last two months he swerve heel turns and goes after Cody for championship 17 to become #1 all time 🤯🤯🤯
Spot on, WWE has to give Cena the Intercontinental Title. Its crazy after all these years, 16 World Titles, 4 Tag Team Titles, 5 US Heavyweight Titles, twice Royal Rumble winner and Money in the Bank winner, Cena has never held or even competed for the Intercontinental Championship belt. There have been a lot of legends who achieved a lot in WWE but can't call themselves a Triple Crown or Grand Slam Champion: Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Mankind, Batista those guys helds at least 2 out of the 3 Triple Crown belts but didn't complete the set. John Cena must complete those two sets before his run ends by holding the IC Belt.
I wouldn't mind a John Cena Vs Undertaker match at WrestleMania 41. It was one match we never really got and the Undertaker expressed how much he wanted to do like a 45 minute match lol. I think a good 15-20 minute match would be great for his tour
He's got to have a really strong run wirh far more victories than loses. The trouble with Cena putting over younger talent is it doesn't work if he's just seen as the guy who's trying to put over younger talent. Forming a stable around John may be the best way to get over younger talent. Let John hand pick 3 or 4 wrestlers to work with, talent he's legitimately interesting in developing, and allow him to give them the rub over an extended period of time, instead of just a one off match. Not to mention developing a close working relationship with Cena is going to benefite that talent immensely.
I mean seriously after putting over newer Wrestlers and Talent for past 4 years,John really deserves the “Super Cena” in his final run for the 2025 WWE retirement tour. This isn’t anymore the Vince McMahon WWE where a Wrestler in his Farewell days will be humiliated by every other person for leaving the Company. John has given so much to this industry he truly deserves Super Cena and 17th Title win to Break Flair’s record, especially in a W? 41 Main Event because he truly deserves it for carrying this Company for all all the Past Years. Cena vs Orton World Championship Main Event at W.M 41,yes please ❤🔥…
I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye to Cena, but I do know I'm going to relish every last minute he's a part of WWE. A final 17th world title reign would cap off a stellar career.
hes gonna get #17 for sure. they got goldberg to do like 4 matches in a year and put the title on him too. they would be insane not to give cena the title one last time. i'm so excited to see what they will do with cena in 2025.
The top 7 one more time matchups I would love to see is cena vs cm punk, cena vs aj styles, cena vs Cody Rhodes, cena vs the rock, cena vs Brian Danielson if wwe and AEW can agree to due business cena vs Adam edge Copland.
His return needs to be a complete heel run. He needs to win title to beat flairs record “16x”. & in the process fight all the new top talent. To get his title shot.
My favorite and what I feel is John Cena's best feud. Cena vs AJ. 2016 was a weird year of 50/50 booking, crap storylines, but Smackdown was on 🔥 any given Tuesday. I challenge anyone to go back and watch those televised matches and tell me they weren't all premium work! From promos to the in ring I mean like that In Ring was muah😘! Perfect blend of traditional wwe and indy style 👌. Someone go watch it and then find this comment and tell me what you think
14:31 Wins the IC title then brings back the US title Cena Open challenge Only for the IC title this time. Could even do what he did with Owens when he debuted as NXT champ maybe by having Trick debut or whoever is NXT champ at the time.
I have an idea "championship overtime" John manages to get a chance at the WWE (emphasis on WWE not World) championship at Wrestlemania and actually wins it. Rather than quit as champion he announces he will continue his full time run until someone could dethrone him. It goes on as far as it needs to.
Think Randy Orton vs John Cena in the Main Event of WrestleMania for the World Heavyweight Championship is on the table. Randy Orton defeating his longtime rival and friend and retiring John Cena at WrestleMania for the World Heavyweight Championship or Undisputed Championship would be great especially if Randy Orton breaks Ric Flair's record at the same time.
Cena needs to give us a very short little heel run, even for a single episode where he just goes back to Doctor of Thugonomics and goes and rap battles all the stars or something
-He should go after the Intercontinental title and then he will be a grand slam champion. That title is a big deal now. -I want to see John Cena vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. John Cena vs Bron Breakker is another dreammatch.
