I suppose there are 'dark sides' to every place that you visit these days? I think education and doing your research should solve most of the problems you might face out there. :)
Trust me, there ISNT a SINGLE country that doesn't have "dark side" rules. Many Western countries had massive amounts of crime & homeless problems & large amounts of uncultured women who breed out of wedlock births. Japan has a low birth rate problem but no crime. No shootings in London but a lot of stabbings.
I'm a Muslim from🇬🇧 and I think non Muslims not being able to eat or drink is not fair during ramadan. Also they should have thought of crossings for pedestrians
Yeah that's true. Crossings for pedestrians would have made sense. Non muslims can eat and drink during Ramadan, but they have to be hidden away from public view, which I think is a reasonable compromise.
Salam Some RU-vidrs should take a lesson from ur humble behaviour, *Replying to each1of us* Really appreciated, Thz for ur precious time, Do came again 2 dubai. We will be happy brother /sir . Salam (peace)
In some sort of way, I agree. Life was a lot simpler way back when ... I think people take their liberties way too far in this day and age. In a place like this where they don't tolerate that sort of behaviour, it's not necessarily a bad way to live.
Great, informative video. Respect their laws! Reasons to live there....space, light, warmth, cheap petrol, world food.luxury shopping. LAW AND ORDER, I LOVE IT
Dubai is a amazing city. It's worth visiting it once. But the biggest regret is that when the Ruler/Government can spend so much money on buildings/infrastructure/personal wealth/ functions/events/beautifying it's cities then why can't they not spend on upliftment/improvement of living/working standards of workers/labourers who have worked so hard n sweat their energy to build these cities/concrete jungles.... When you visit any labour camp or industrial area of of Dubai or any Gulf city, the living conditions there of labourers/workers is inhumane n pathetic. What use is this extravaganza n concrete jungle when you don't care for people who have sweat their blood to build them. Their own citizens with no work are paid luxuriously while these people are deprived of their minimum wages... It's very saddening. They say" all that shine is not gold "...😟
Sadly, Dubai is an amazing city BECAUSE of the forced slave labour. And you can say the same about a lot of cities being built right now. It's not right, but it is what it is.
This sounds like everywhere. Governments do not care about the poorer community. In the UK, everywhere is striking for better pay, but the government refuses pay rises. Putting up the cost of living beyond most people means. Same everywhere.
this video is not available on your channel ... I was trying to find more videos related to dubai but this video was in recommendations and is not showing on your channel
Can you ask something or maybe a location or any kind of info to police officers when he/she is on the street just parked. Like a normal conversation with a officer without disturbing them like u do in any situation
It would be advisable yes, especially in public places, government buildings and mosques. But in places like beaches, I don't think anyone would notice.
I guess yoir origin is singapore or hk. i know few singapore & HK friends same like you. Great You in short visit can undestand. few about Dubai. why dont stay longer and post a video. Great Good luck.
Do people greet each other readily like in the US? Like here in the US you can’t go anywhere without people greeting you with, “Hi, how are you?” Would locals look at you weird if you greeted them this way even if you’re strangers?
We (arabs) really like to greet eachother or stranger in arabic By Saying ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ (peace b upon u) And for non muslims we say SALAM (peace) , Or hi ... We really like it
You can drink and eat all you want, but just not in public around Ramadan. Especially not near government buildings and mosques, but short of those places you'll be okay. Even if you have to duck into a restroom, an indoor restaurant or a tourist place (like a beach or hotel), it's fine.
It might not be your area of expertise but is it realistic to establish a small business (like barbershop or a small store etc.) in Dubai for let's say 50k dirham? Including all visas and licenses? I think it is doable but then you would need to lock your rent 6 months or o year (because they dont pay rent monthly in Dubai as far as I know), then all the deposits then all the food for the first months etc so 100k AED would be more safe, but still... what would be your take.
That is 97 degrees and that is really hot for me. I live in San Francisco. It is rarely hot. How is Dubai in January/February? Also, if it is so hot there, why have I seen numerous videos with folks wearing suits (real estate agents, Piers Morgan and others walking outside). I also saw another video with people wearing sweatpants and sweaters.
Can I buy my alcohol and take it to my hotel. Or are there bars where I can go partying have few drinks. What are the rules concerning alcohol consumption.
Yes, you can do both. There are bars you can drink and you can consume it in your hotel. Alcohol consumption in public (like in the street) is not tolerated, but that's the same for a lot of countries.
Thanks Rachel - they actually relaxed the laws a few years ago, so it's acceptable to stay in hotel rooms unmarried and alcohol is much more tolerated. It's a lot more chilled out than when I made this video. I think they realised that they need the tourists post-pandemic!
I am going to visit Dubai for 7 night and would like to go to Abu Dhabi, what would be the best way to get between the two cities? Your videos have given me great insight in what to do in the two cities just need to travel between them 😀. Thank you for any advise you might have on this.
Hi Julio. Rather annoyingly, there is no train or metro between the two cities, otherwise that would be easy. Taxi is expensive, so you're better off going on the Dubai Transit website and figuring out the best bus for you to take depending on where you are. I personally have taken the E101 bus from IBN Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi Central and it took two hours. Price wasn't bad either. Take the early morning bus if possible, it's a lot less crowded. Hope that helps?
@@UltimateBucketList This is spot on, the only addition is take he metro from Dubai Airport to Jabal Ali, change to another metro train to Ibn Battuta from where you take the bus to Abu Dhabi
There's signs of it everywhere ... I mean, you can't look at all the nice buildings without thinking about the migrant workers who toiled in the heat to build them. Whether you or I think that's right or not, that's just the way it is over here.
Unfortunately not. You might be able to get away with it on the tourist public beaches etc. And inside shopping malls behind the curtains is fine too. But walking the streets drinking water during Ramadan isn't a good idea.
This guy is not living in dubai. Misleading information. I am in Canada but lived and worked in UAE for 15years.. And I will certify and certainly say, UAE is the safest, greastest country in the world. Rules are number 1, no drugs, no homesless. Food is amazing, culture is unmatched and you can ask anyone. No one is shouting in the streets, few or maybe no scammers.. And cheaper than here in Canada and any other western countries. Well, weather is harsh for maybe 3-4months but the rest, paradise.
Ive got a painting I acquired some yrs. ago.It contains people in acts that would be seen as offensive,by the locals. Its an investment and I hope to sell it possibly.Ive been advised of a method of social media and groups related to its subject matter. Could that bring some form of insult or injury that I should be concerned about?
Thanks for the info. This uncertain feeling ,certainly has me desirous to rid it from my wall! Possibly for a divine ditty or a secret Psalm of a song!
"cars have the right of way" - the irony is that the drivers in next door sharja are some of the most respectful towards pedestrians I have come across anywhere in the world. As for Dubai being expensive it very much depends on what part of town you are in. For instance, in Daira you can eat very cheaply and far more cheaply than in Europe. For a place that sells itself as a first-world tourist destination, I thought it was good value especially compared to a complete rip of like London.
@@UltimateBucketList I disagree. I think in general it’s good value for a first world destination. I generally use it as a 2 or 3 day stopover to break up longer flights and the cost of food and hotels is a lot cheaper than in Europe. I have also looked at other stopover destinations in the region and they are generally more expensive. My biggest complaint is that it’s completely soulless and lacking in any regional charm but I can handle that for a few days. Worth pointing out that despite the fact that it’s a Muslim country their attitudes to such things as duty free are very liberal. As you point out in your video however always abide by the rules.
Wait. There is. There are loads of interesting things in towns and in manchester. Hotel football. Both manchester clubs. Chill and play factory and the football museum etc
I think it's more the novelty that you're doing all of these things in the middle of a barren desert that's the appeal. Skydiving over the palm was pretty immense though. And yes, I also rode on a camel and went dune bashing.
@@UltimateBucketList about 70-80% of the people are from India, Pakistan, Bengladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka - or the greater India. Mujhe batao Dubai kiska hona chahiye?
I love a country that's 1: tough on crime 2: don't allow people(Karen's & rachets & westerners) to act a damn fool in public because of feelings & "western privilege". Visiting Dubai soon can't wait. Very good video
Thank you very much! Enjoy Dubai and be sure to check out my Dubai City Guide before you go! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P9pWFhtTMzA.html
OK, Tourist distance is manageable and you have a taxi/metro. Crossing roads? Jaywalking is illegal to use crossing. Ramadan, you can eat and drink in dedicated places, they are obvious. Ramadan, respect the culture and enjoy. Ramadan goes crazy after sundown when you can drink and eat what you want. Ramadan is a holy month so be respectful. Language, try to learn some of the local language, it's just respectful. Metro, is great but you can be fined for luggage Hire a car.....no Taxi to the hotel, book local but this is difficult cheap, it can be but choose where to go and when, things we foud were cheaper than the UK, and much tastier Temp, everywhere has AC, hotel, mall, taxi Rule breakers, don't be a tosser... be respectful Respect laws! Never had an issue is 10 years. Free for a chat x
Dubai is more clean, convenient, safe. and please dont compare with any other contry. London is crowded, mess, dirty etc. And very dangerous. please dont try to pic climate. London ooh in summer hot humidity,Rain cant walk.very uncomfortable. suck As singapore,hk,tailand etc. ooh crowded dangerous dirty. So please stay for some time & see. every corner is safe & clean. extremely.and convenient.you cant feel hot. AC in every corner.even street crossing bridge, bus stand fully airconditioned. luxury for all. Good luck. take care. Bye
some people like it some people don't. From all the places in the world i have seen dubai was for sure the most overwhelmingly beautiful place! if you haven't been there you can't say anything about it 🙂
I don't see anything wrong with that if people are fasting while will u be eating in their faces is wrong. And also when it comes to women dress code most foreign women have problems with it. I don't see any problem with it cover up remember is not your country abide by the rules 😉 is a religious country so if they're fasting 🤷 purchase your food and get back to hotel. 😊 I hope to visit Dubai for just 2 weeks can someone send me invitation 😅
Yes exactly. Different countries have different laws and sometimes there's nothing wrong with them. They might be different to our laws for sure, but people always have a choice of whether to go there or not.
The level at which African’s are poorly treated will Amaze you. An African can not report to the police and be taken seriously. But let an Indian or filipino report to the police. SHM
The only funny part about this is saying Dubai's driving isn't as disciplined as the US, lol. That may be true for smaller towns, but all major metropolitan areas in the US suffer from horrible drivers!
Hes wrong about the cars...ive lived in dubai for 4 years.....the cars stop for u whenever ur crossing the road...no matter what....if they accidently touch u also it becomes a police case....so pedestrians have the right of way....also dubai is actually a very small city....hes wrong about that too....
Nope and nope. Given that I saw many people almost get run over and to get from one end of the city to the other is 23 miles, you're wrong on both counts.
Someone tell me one good reason to visit Dubai. It seems there are better, more comfortable places in the world if I wanted costly delusions of grandeur.
I say to people that ask me about Dubai that it's an interesting mix of Arabic culture mixed with Western super-modernism. But it comes with conditions: a caveat of rules, some of which people don't like.
@@UltimateBucketList Oh so people do complain or can become aggressive if while filming or taking pictures they appear on the background by accident, probably an obvious thing to assume since I don't think everyone would like to be in someone else's video or photos, but that man got really close to you...
I suppose it's the same with most countries that you visit. Some of them have laws that you wouldn't think they have. For example: it's illegal to walk in public in Hungary without some form of ID. If you are stopped and you don't have ID, they take you to a police station straight away.
